    I think you are so brave for traveling alone with your dogs and driving everywhere. I can imagine the feeling of vulnerability when you have everything you own and love in your car and you don’t have your home base yet- quite a feeling of displacement.
    But you seem to manage it with grace and ease and a positive, hopeful attitude. I love watching your honest perspective on your travels.

    Tequisquiapan, located in Querétaro, Mexico, is a charming colonial town known for its well-preserved architecture, vibrant cultural festivals, and relaxed atmosphere. Key attractions include the Church of Santa María de la Asunción, hot springs, and hot air balloon rides. It's part of the Querétaro wine region, offering wine tours and tastings. The local economy thrives on artisanal crafts, traditional cuisine, and tourism. Easily accessible from Querétaro City and Mexico City, Tequisquiapan enjoys a temperate climate, making it an appealing year-round destination. Great video, Mora Margaret!

Learn to speak the language and don’t separate your self from the locals by labeling your self as an obnoxious “expat”

    I have no doubt that you are a nice lady. That being said. Sadly I hope the immigration from USA citizens to Tequis, will not end like San Miguel de Allende or Ajijic, where now it’s impossible for locals to live in. You came here and only take advantage of the economic opportunities. Earning dollars and spending pesos. This is not a play ground, or a privileged bubble.
    Enjoy your stay, respect the culture and local people.

    • @MoraMargaret
      @MoraMargaret  4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for your comment. It is a worry that any other beautiful towns in Mexico become gentrified by richer people moving in. The towns initially benefit with shopkeepers and service people making more money, but then it goes beyond a certain point and becomes like Ajijic or SMA, like you said. I did enjoy my stay there, and I hope not to add to the problem. I respect the culture and people very much.

    • @fortanell1
      @fortanell1 4 місяці тому +2

      The problem with the gentrification is not the people…everybody is looking for the opportunity per say…the problem is with the government who has no rules when it comes to rent or buy a property…now this have a advantage and disadvantage…with the right amount of money you can have your dream house in Mexico, no rules how you wanna build it…but for the regular folks in Mexico there’s no way to compete…

      El problema' de la gentrificacion tiene que ver más bien con que haya una regulación más estricta en la cuestión inmobiliaria, que no haya corrupción; que se busque que los extranjeros paguen impuestos o que contribuyan de alguna forma y por supuesto, en que no haya Mexicanos que se ponen de tapete para que pasen los gueros' y quieran cobrarle lo mismo a los que ganan en pesos que a los que hagan en dólares, pero por mi son bienvenidos todos los extranjeros siempre y cuando vengan a no querer imponer sus costumbres,su idioma y a respetar y a aportar de alguna forma a este grandioso país: hombligo de la luna que es México...
