Zebra luvsinging to be honest I would love either of them, I'm on the committee to plan it this year and I don't even know what theme is gonna be picked >.
as someone who looked for ages for an authentic looking art-deco style dress, i can tell you now michelle's dress probably cost upwards of 600$ and it is so pretty!
Yologirl132 Song covers that's why i said authentic, like with real influence of the designer's style. the cheapest i found was like 50$, and it wasn't nearly as dazzling as her's. A genuine art deco dress has specific patterns in the detailing, and should be an inch below the knee.
+stephanie santos I loved the beading, but I'd enjoy a more modern take on it simply because the length and loose-ness isn't fitting for my body type. Short with broad shoulders and hips, and a small waist.
This is the first time that I have watched her videos in YEARS and even though this is a couple years old I absolutely LOVE how theatrical everything has gotten! It's wonderful!
+Emily Reyneri im so sorrry but black women played a important role in fashion flappers entertainment and all of the era.. and were some of the most beautiful flappers of all.. you are so very wrong.
+Raquel O yes. but the blacks started all the great music.. its a shame people were and are so ignorant. cause they bring soul to life.... and its awesome.
They extended the brows to the end of the eye. They used really, really thick, pale makeup because it contrasted nicely with the eyes and lips. The reds were mostly dark reds, wine colors and such.
I miss Michelle because she isn’t like beauty gurus that take too long to get to start the makeup tutorial . She puts effort in her videos. She is the only humble girl in the makeup industry.
girl you should do more videos like this!! i mean how?? did you hire some crews or something? must be it then,, cause dang from all of the makeup gurus in youtube your video editing is an A+ aaand the makeup
They didn't have perfect skin in the 20s. We just can't see it because the cameras were terrible compared to now, haha. And the standard was probably a lot lower, too.
She never said they have perfect skin. She said they looked like have perfect skin, mainly because they had a ton of make up on. And what do you mean by "standard"?
Ma5jay5dontxdoxthat By standard I mean the standard for how well a makeup item has to perform has become higher, because the makeup has become better. So a Mascara made from the instructions of the 20's would probably be rubbish in comparison to the ones we have today. So back then, a foundation probably didn't cover up as well as it does now. So in person, people looked "less perfect" than now. Not that that means someone's ugly. I'm more thinking off how well a product performs in term of the claims it makes. My all over point was, they looked like they had perfect skin because the cameras were worse, not because they wore more makeup, because the makeup they wore was worse than it is now. So I'm blaming it on the cameras.
I've watched this video about a thousand times, and I love it. The music, the makeup, the hair, the clothes, the sequins, the champagne, and Mish. Absolutely AMAZING.
I went to read the comments if anyone else noticed.. why did she then concealed them etc and then ended up having full lips.. nvm the video is nice and aesthetically pleasing ❤️
Of course, if you were actually in that era, you would have almost no rights (depending on the exact year, not even be able to vote). Liking the style of an era is NOT being born in the wrong era. But you look fabulous as always :)
No no no the past was better I would explain but I don’t have time to explain why to emasculated masses of inquity, idiots, fools, imbeciles, licentious, whores of millennials yes because all millennials and ALL people since the 50s are all those words I said
Alicia Brock um I’m not white I’m Mexican yes my race/ ethnicity was also abused in the past but guess what before slavery and stuff like 600 years before that blacks INSLAVED whites in Europe also before Asians have INSLAVED whites and Asians have inslaved blacks and whites have inslaved Asians every race has been INSLAVED by every race.
If your just starting, it can be realy hard, because your eye gets itchy and watery. But like everything else, practice practice practice! Lightly push on the flesh under your waterline, and try to fine a gel/pencil that isn't harsh (;
I find it interesting that women in the 20s didn't use really nice makeup for a foundation to get perfect looking skin, they bleached the tan and the freckles off their face. Which sounds painful.
To be honest I'd totally want to go to one of gatsbys parties 🙌👀
you can attend to our party,;) i really dont know wat to wear
me too
My highschools prom is great Gaspy themed 😍
i love ur profile pic rnbrndbr
Sosi my theatre company is having one in August!
The theme for homecoming is roaring 20's. I CANT WAIT!
Have fun :)
Ugh lucky mine is "Guardians of the Galaxy"
Zebra luvsinging to be honest I would love either of them, I'm on the committee to plan it this year and I don't even know what theme is gonna be picked >.
Zebra luvsinging lol Halo 5
Lucky mine is more party city on a budget
the fact that you got to have a twenties themed party JUST for a makeup video intro...your life is glamorous, my lady.
as someone who looked for ages for an authentic looking art-deco style dress, i can tell you now michelle's dress probably cost upwards of 600$ and it is so pretty!
It not that expensive I got mine for Halloween for like twenty bucks
Yologirl132 Song covers that's why i said authentic, like with real influence of the designer's style. the cheapest i found was like 50$, and it wasn't nearly as dazzling as her's. A genuine art deco dress has specific patterns in the detailing, and should be an inch below the knee.
Oh hmm
+stephanie santos I loved the beading, but I'd enjoy a more modern take on it simply because the length and loose-ness isn't fitting for my body type. Short with broad shoulders and hips, and a small waist.
If you've seen one, it would be great if you could provide a link. I wanna show off my waist before it goes away in a few months. lol
Flapper Girl look, just in time for Halloween ♥
Can you make a 50 look
Michelle Phan that moment when you have 420 likes on your comment :)
or a Hollywood themed dance in my case :)
+U+2612 come on bro don't be such a debbie downer. Goodness

SHES HONESTLY SO STUNNING AND GORGEOUS WOW
This is absolutely amazing!!! Just found out your channel, so blown away!!! Congratulations on your talent!
This is the first time that I have watched her videos in YEARS and even though this is a couple years old I absolutely LOVE how theatrical everything has gotten! It's wonderful!
How ironic that we'll all see the '20s again.... Though unfortunately, I doubt they'll be as "Roaring" as they were nearly 100 years ago.
I mean they're roaring just not the same kind. 😂
You had no idea...
@@ambersara yeah lmao
This comment aged like fine wine
@@lena3659 indeed it did
The roaring 20s! ...for those who were white and wealthy, anyway.
+Lyn False, my friend. The Harlem Renaissance (20s-30s) was quite an amazing time for African-American artists, writers, poets, scholars, etc. :)
+Emily Reyneri im so sorrry but black women played a important role in fashion flappers entertainment and all of the era.. and were some of the most beautiful flappers of all.. you are so very wrong.
+Lori Corcoran as always black women are beautiful breathtaking and trend setters. and were gorgeous flappers. check your facts.
+Lori Corcoran okay yes but in the 20's blacks were still being discriminated against, it was not the best time for them by any means
+Raquel O yes. but the blacks started all the great music.. its a shame people were and are so ignorant. cause they bring soul to life.... and its awesome.
NEED THE DRESS MY SCHOOL IS HAVING A GREAT GATSBY THEMED PROM AND I NEED THAT DRESS
It's in the descripion☺
Anouk Nijssen It's not in the description..

They extended the brows to the end of the eye. They used really, really thick, pale makeup because it contrasted nicely with the eyes and lips. The reds were mostly dark reds, wine colors and such.
You are georgeous..! Love your channel xxx
I THOUGHT SHE WAS WEARING MAKEUP WHEN SHE DIDNT HAVE ANY!!
VERDICT: michelle is too beautiful.
Shreya me too
I'm 6 years late but she did conceal her pimple before filming herself applying foundation.
My sweet 16 is next week and it's Gatsby themed. love this video and I have that same headpiece!!
where did you get your head piece? :0
+Caramia Phillips Amazon! Link to headpiece: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s//ref=mw_dp_a_s?ie=UTF8&k=BABEYOND
where did you purchased it... ooooo em geee Im in love with the hair piece..
Anychance of having the production crew details or camera details ? I'm wondering what camera gives this video a look so clean and slick?
I love this music and fashion of the 20's
AMAZING!! I went to school with this look during our roaring 20s unit, and I got 50 points extra credit!! Thanks!!!
I miss Michelle because she isn’t like beauty gurus that take too long to get to start the makeup tutorial . She puts effort in her videos. She is the only humble girl in the makeup industry.

Hahaha i know! xD its so professionally made!
I watched Gatsby before.on the airplane.like 5 times for no reason...I love the look so much!i love your videos so much!

There really wasn't a point in this, I honestly doubt that Michelle was trying to be historically accurate. It was just a Halloween video lmfao chill
AM I THE ONLY WHO SEES IT AS PURPLE COLOUR?
'Cause I know I'm not the only one~
I swear she meant purple!
Nabilah Zin i think it's because of the video's filter that affected the color
nope
Your skin is sooo perfect, you really don't need to use foundation!!! So pretty!!!!
I've watched this video about a thousand times, and I love it. The music, the makeup, the hair, the clothes, the sequins, the champagne, and Mish. Absolutely AMAZING.
Michelle, could you please do a 1920s hair tutorial?
Lol she's not going to see that comment😀
Keep your hopes up she might see it
When she does see it and posts it two days later...
This video was so well done! Thank you for all of the effort put into this video.
Mish, YOU'RE GORGEOUS!!! YOU LOOK LIKE AN ASIAN VERSION OF SCARLETT JOHANSSON
Scarlett Johansson looks like a white version of Mish.
+Mary Stiller i think scarlet was born before her i dont know i may ve wrong
For a video uploaded 7 years ago, the quality is so good.
I'm here cause I'm excited for 2020
My friend is having a 1920's theme birthday party so this look will be PERFECT for it! =)
i would like to born in the 20s if there was no racism
And misogyny
And homophobia and transphobia and literally everything that is bad in our world
GirlNamedChloe How many lynchings do you see today?
GirlNamedChloe You know what I mean. You dont know how bad it was back then if you actually think racism is worse today.
MAROON HAMSA oh so the 1920s is just as bad today 2018 good to know nothing’s changed you are dumb the past was better than today
I LOVE themed party 🥳🎊
my catsby inspiration Dreamy 💗💗
Please do a Pinup look! I love Pinup
bout to be the 20s again I say we bring these looks back
the video starts and I think, oh she already put on her foundation. but NO her skin is just so perfect....
100% touch-up you can see it at her hairline
aaaand her pimple that is already covered
Wow the level you took this makeup tutorial to was awesome!!

+Kaitlyn Ellerbe May04bwu watched it 7 month ago , that mean it's still 2015
We miss you so damn much. But do what you have to do to be happy. We will always love you Michelle. Wherever you are.
Who’s here in 2019 before the roaring twenty’s 🔥
Welp it's roaring alright.
Who is here after *"my real creepy stories"*
THE QUEEN IS BACK 😍🤩
Aside from me, I wonder how many girls would use this look for an everyday look. #Lostin20thcentury
♥ ♥ ♥ Like if this is you too !
I would love to have a menage a troi with girls attired in flapper clothes!
You and me both! :)
I would love to do you and another girl. sweeter if you and her are Bisexual! :)
you, ms. Phan and I. 😆
Rachel Ferguson menage a trio. that's what it is😆
I love your dress! Great video!
This may be irrelevant. But I can't forget that smile you broke out with at 3:56 . YOU REALLY LOOKED LIKE BEYONCE!
i was searching flappy bird and i ended up here...
lol wth!!!! XDDD this cracked me up way more than it should!!!!
I LAUGHED TOO HARD OH MY GOD
AHAHA OMG
lol!
It's because in the 20s there were "flappy girls"
Is anyone else watching this in 2019 for Halloween or New Year's Eve coming up?
3:20 the amount of mascara in her eyes just kills me, how does it not hurt her. love this video, hope you make more like it!
Absolutely stunning...you're seriously talented Michelle...The dislikes must have come from the jealous people who couldn't do the same
She said black eye shadow and applied purple. #confused
probably filters or lighting
Where did you get your dress? This makeup look inspired me to do a 1920 themed sweet 16 😄😄
Watching this in 2020, she was way ahead of her time man. These videos are like movies.
your cupids bow changed at the end of the vid right after you were done shaping them...@5:20
Ikr 😜
We are learning about the Roaring Twenties in history and right after that is the Great Depression which is a bad time in history.
the great depression was the "hang over" from the 20s. like someone who had a big new year's celebration with wine!
your lips went back to full size after the lip part lol
Saw that too
I went to read the comments if anyone else noticed.. why did she then concealed them etc and then ended up having full lips.. nvm the video is nice and aesthetically pleasing ❤️
THIS HELPS A LOT! NEXT WEEK IS PROM AND OUR THEME IS THE GREAT GATSBY THE MAKEUP LOOK IS PERFECT FOR MY DRESS THANK YOU SO MUCH
If we hate haters, does that make us haters?
*vaporwave music gets louder*
Alexa play Despacito

SAME!!
2017 👐🏻
Of course, if you were actually in that era, you would have almost no rights (depending on the exact year, not even be able to vote). Liking the style of an era is NOT being born in the wrong era.

exactly what I thought

I love everything about thepast etiquette, music, slang, food, books, fashion, beauty, and houses from those time YES IS BEING BORN IN WRONG ERA
Dalayza Vilchez you wouldn’t be saying that if you were any race besides white 💁🏾♀️
This reminds me of Aria from Pretty Little LiArs
Wow! This is an amazing look...You did a fantastic job on the 1920's Flapper makeup. Your best makeup ever!!
brows are supposed to go down after the eye line
Not the way she does it, and she's an expert ;)
well yes she is...BUt look up some 1920's photograhs and you'll see :)
Oh yes! They do :) well this must be her way of embracing the 1920's look
how do u make your skin flawless?!
In the 1920s, they used heavy powder as foundation.
Didn't they do that until the 60s?
+Hannah Evans yeah because later on rich people started taking trips to tropical areas and started getting tans which later started catching on
I absolutely LOVE the 1920s! This video helped me so much doing my makeup for prom.
Nah, I still retouch my makeup at the restaurant table. I do not like running to the bathroom for that small thing.
I can't even line my waterline. Please, I can't be the only one?
If your just starting, it can be realy hard, because your eye gets itchy and watery. But like everything else, practice practice practice! Lightly push on the flesh under your waterline, and try to fine a gel/pencil that isn't harsh (;
It feels risky (to me anyway) but thanks for the tip! :) NHering95
Ur not the only one
I find it interesting that women in the 20s didn't use really nice makeup for a foundation to get perfect looking skin, they bleached the tan and the freckles off their face. Which sounds painful.
This is so perfect! My school's winter dance is themed the Great Gatsby Remix. Definitely using your tutorial for my costume! Thanks so much Michelle!
I wish she showed how to do the hair!
she should have made her lips look smaller like what the flapper girls did. but overall great tutorial!
oh nevermind she did
Hanji Zoe lol!!!
Where can I get the dress from?
Read the description 😊
Wow, wow, wow! I have been watching a zillion beauty tutorials and yours is like watching a movie star get gorgeous!
i get scared when i use black eye shadow
For the eyebrows it could've been thinner as they were pencil thin
I hope she realizes swing was invented in the 30's....
This will always, always be one of my favorite looks and tutorials among the many that Michelle has done.
สวย
Im hiding from all the drama of 2019
AIN'T SHE SWEET
this is officialy my favourite look michelle has done
sotalented and now i kinda wanna be a beauty guru
If you were rich you'd actually have a good time in the 20s
This is beautiful but very inaccurate.
the only thing this video is missing is Leonardo dicaprio
Bravo Michelle, j'adore ta vidéo, et je vais m'en inspirer ce soir !
This looks great on her but if i did it I would look like a raccoon...
except in the 20s you would have experienced tons of racism & not been able to hang out with flapper girls... :(
Oh yeah i was born in the wrong era... said no POC ever
Idk why but I keep coming back to watch this! It's perfecttttt
I think what pisses me off that this is so inaccurate. Just no.
I'm not gay nor homophobic, but I would really like to be a make up artist like Michelle Phan. I wanna impress ladies.
Finally, someone who appreciates history. Yay for the Roaring Twenties!!
I love you, Michelle! 💟💟💟 You're not just any other make up guru; you're a beautiful, unique, creative UA-cam gem!
the ball theme for my school this year is the Great Gatsby! This is help lots. THANK YOU!!!
