    I have been doing keto for three years with my husband. We both are at a healthy weight we have lots of food choices lots of healthy dinners that I make it is a success for us. We will continue this for the rest of our lives. It’s not for everyone just wanted to say that we do enjoy it and it is working for us. We’re both also off of all medication’s that we used to take our blood pressure is lower we have lots of health benefits from doing keto.

      I'm doing keto as well. Only a month in... but plan on doing it forever if it works or at least low carbs. I can definitely see a healthy and unhealthy way of doing it.😂 unfortunately I'm lactose sensitive, which is not helpful on this diet.

    Great video. Totally agree with the nutrition importance. I didn’t do the research you did (which is AMAZING) but had so little time, I just changed what I could which was my diet. Diet and daily walk with baby helped me lose 90lbs in a year. 💝

      What did you change in your diet?

    • @amandas8510
      @amandas8510 3 роки тому +5

      @@sarahs3988 made smarter choices/ate with purpose instead of pleasure 😂. Example: replace quinoa for rice, sweet potato for white (moderation), no milk/dairy or substitutes, no flour or substitutes (like chickpea pasta etc), no white sugar. I DID allow myself consistent cheats: brown sugar in my hot tea and dark vegan chocolate chips. This reduced my cravings for something more scrumptious like cake 😅 I didn’t count calories- no time for that. I ate as much protein, fruits and veggies I wanted. When I hit weight stalls, I usually incorporated more water and adjusted diet to new needs. For example, over time, I didn’t want chocolate chips any more. And I drank less sweet hot tea. I even started eating less quinoa and starchy veggies. Follow your body’s lead, it’ll tell you what you need 😉
      After going beyond my goal, I am much less strict but I still don’t do most dairy products ( just lactose free milk in coffee) and I eat sweets on the weekends. -I didn’t realize how bad dairy was for me until I eliminated it. Maintaining 130 for about 5 months now.

    Your husband is so unbelievably smart Miss, one more thing I found in regards to dieting, is that. Children who consume lots of protein, usually grow taller and develop faster, in the brain, and bones. As you said it earlier, protein are the building blocks of human organism. So when the height jump happens in a child, and it starts to rapidly produce the growth hormone, by always providing enough building blocks of protein, you can allow your child to develop in all its capability to. Which I believe you can achieve, by offering your kids milk, as a snack, along with including more good quality meat, like red, bird, or red fish meat.into the everyday diet!
    I want to have a family as big as yours Miss, and I am very much rooting for your family wellbeing, and its constant growth!:)

    Fat is needed and good for you. I recommend looking into the Carnivore diet. Your husband could have been constipated on Keto because 1) not enough magnesium 2) not enough fat intake. Fibre doesnt cause loose stools. Fat does. Your brain is made of fat and cholesterol and we need it.

    I lost a ton of weight doing keto, 70 lbs after one of my pregnancies, I allowed carbs again during pregnancy, clean healthy things and I could not stop eating. To a point that scared me, massive binges. I felt like a person who'd been starving and finally got to have food again. Gained every pound back during that pregnancy and I am certain that it killed my metabolism, so much harder to lose weight after that. Now I'm at my highest weight pregnant with baby #8 could not lose a pound after baby#7. Trying to not gain much, if anything this time around.

    • @EmmaWatson551
      @EmmaWatson551 3 роки тому +2

      I have gain 80 lbs after my first baby, 50 on my second, and 40 on my third. I'm hoping to only gain 20 on my current one. I gain weight easily but when I focus on weight lifting then I noticed that I loose weight a lot easier then when I do a lot of cardio. But being a mom with three kids with one on the way. I don't have much time to go the gym so I find a free weight pregnancy training video. and do it at home after I put the kids to bed at 8PM and try to go to the gym on the weekends. I'm not sure if this will help but weight training as worked for me. Also breastfeeding!!!!! I can not say enough about it. Every ounce is 20 calories your new baby takes 640 calories a day from you!!. After I had my second baby he ATE ALOT and when I say he ate ALOT I mean he would sometime have 6 ounce in the mornings before he was 1 month. With him I would feed him and pump extra to save for him after I got done breastfeeding and I'm serious I lost 50 POUNDS in 6 weeks. I told my friend about this and she breastfeed/pumped for 1 year and she weighted less then she did before so got pregnant. I'm planning on breastfeeding/pumping until I weight 140. If you ever loose your milk try power pumping. Anyways I hope my experience helps you. for me its hard to focus on counting calories and making sure I eat exactly what I "should" I just give myself rules. 1 homecooked meals, 2. Eat out once a week (this is hard with the holidays so I eat meats and salads at the restaurant when I can) 3.Try working out once a week then twice etc. 4. BREASTFEED/pump for as long as possible no matter what!!! Its good that your pregnant now because when you start breastfeeding and eating healthy I really think the pounds will just melt off of you.

    You should talk about breastfeeding health benefits. 1 ounce =20 calories, baby needs 32 ounces a day = 640 calories a day. How long you should breastfeed/pump. How power pumping will help you get your milk back and have extra. I pumped and breastfeed and lost 50 pounds in 6 weeks.

    Hi!!
    Thank you for your real and honest video. I think you are amazing and very very blessed with your family.
    Just a question about your keto diet experience, did anyone ever mention that the vegetables and fibre supplements might actually be the cause of the constipation? Contrary to popular belief, too much fibre is actually the cause of constipation.
    My husband and I had this problem with Keto in the beginning (we kept a lot of leafy veggies in our diet and this caused problems), once we took out all veggies and kept the body's building blocks: amino acids (meat) and fatty acids (animal fat) we thrived.
    The entire human body (save for one small part in the eye) is made up only of these two building blocks, these are the true essential building blocks of the human body.
    Carbohydrates are actually not an essential nutrient, they are available in nature in preparation for periods of low food supply, which is why extra carbohydrates convert to fat in the body (storing up for winter).
    All carbohydrates are converted into sugar (either glucose or fructose depending on what you consume) first and then excess sugar into fat.
    Sugar always causes hormone responses in the body.
    When we actually took out all carbohydrates (including vegetables) we experienced great health, plenty of muscle retention, satiation, no cravings and complete hormone balance (cured our immune, mental and fertility issues.....it has been miraculous, from complete diagnosed infertility throughout my entire 20s and several failed rounds of IVF to 7 children and still going. Truly only God's wisdom caused us to try Keto and shift more into Carnivore lifestyle despite all the info out there. Balanced diet just never worked for me, I was disciplined enough to maintain weight, but the hormone issues could not be controlled by my discipline, that was really frustrating. I would possibly still be childless if I hadn't tried)
    I know this may sound a bit out there, but you seem like a wise lady who is ok to hear things out and research possibilities. Please look up "Low Carb Down Under" here in UA-cam for better explanations than myself by professionals and doctors.
    Lots of blessings to you and your beautiful family.

      @NicholasYoungDT 3 роки тому +5

      Intermittent fasting works well. I have done it when I hit plateaus a few times to break through them. The only downside is I tend to get hungry during the fasting period and it made me more likely to overeat. I would eat between 7:30 to 3 or 4 pm and that was the best arrangement for me when I did intermittent fasting.

      After breastfeeding 5 kids I have to say I could never breastfeed on 200 calories. Breast milk takes more than 20cal per oz to make. I was pumping an average of 48oz (sometimes more) and that takes 960cal which I have to add to my diet to make sure my milk was rich enough to satisfy my baby. You definitely can still make milk and a calorie deficit but it will leave the baby hungry and fussy because it is not adequate in fat and calories. Days which I exercise I absolutely needed to add more than 1,000 calories to my diet in addition to my base or it can take which is about 2600 so yes I literally needed to eat 3600 calories a day just to make enough milk and being in a calorie deficit did not work while I was breastfeeding.
