friend gave me hundreds of instructional and 80s and 90s tapes to watch when i got my first sponsor. said watch them and do what they do and id be the fastest haha
Great too see older pros... Ward nice pass, passing Johnson who could of stuffed him in the turn, Johnson kept his cool a lot of race left, then when time is right Johnson passes him back same inside smooth.... Ward even though he's a little short still is one of the man's
I can still remember me and my best friend John T watching these races i was for Ricky Johnson and my buddy was for Jeff Ward the two greatest supercross racers of all time!
Just one that I loved about this era,and a lot of my friends, racers who got me into motocross finally,I was greatful, didn't was Larry Huffman, not Meyers,he was cool, johnson went by ward like a snake oil salesman in the night.well he did...and johnson landed so hard off that triple he jarred his ancestors, well he did,ask his folks...where's this guy come up with stuff,I'd been watching SX tapes,3 years straight,85,86,87,then I started helping SX as safety flagger and course worker thank to old pro who used to the stadium SX tracks,he to watch out the riders, like they were his kids, and I did that for ten years.
Yep, and than rode a bunch of moto's every week. The 80's was a pinnacle of fitness for MX/SX. The 70's and to mid 90's were a bit more party. Then came RC. :)
It is crazy how you can see some of the newer style of riding start to appear this far back!!
I had this on VHS I played so many times back in the day.

Local boy Peter Melton from anaheim, and his mate Jeff leisk from Kazakhstan
Awesome! Good times! Why does the track look bigger? What stadium was this?
I was there ! Dymond ? don't remember him at all. RJ all the way baby. Usually not starts well but reels everyone else in , then wins.
