The real issue here is Medicaid office is requesting $6,000,000 from the Fono when the federal match is up to $102,000,000. If Medicaid is supposed to match 35% for the federal's 65%, then to fully utilize the federal aid, Medicaid must be budgeted 35% of $102,000,000. The real question is, why are they obly asking for $6,000,000 and then seeking to limit referrals to 10 a month? This is a bandaid solution. You are causing people to not be able to seek care overseas because local match is nowhere near fully utilizing the federal aid amount. Governor and his Medicaid office should be asking the Fono for $35,000,000. Why isn't he?
