Karnataka Announces Old Pension Scheme Benefits For 13,000 Employees

The Karnataka government has issued a notification to bring about its 13,000 employees, who were notified before April 1, 2006, but were appointed at a later date, under the Old Pension Scheme.

Present state government has not implemented any POS order for Karnataka state government employees. 2005 recruit, being in 2007 he should get OPS which he got. Basically they are not NPS employees. However, they go to court and get an order. So currently state government has not issued any OPS order to state government employees.

How will it benefit? Salary increments are not that significant where as if India continues to grow at 7% YoY, your NPS will outperform OPS.
