The Joy of the Lord by Mac Powell - Praise Dance

Children of the Light Dancers present an offering of praise at a backyard concert event. The book of Ezra, found in the Bible, tells of the Jews' regathering from their exile in Babylon, and their struggle to survive and to rebuild what had been destroyed. Throughout the book, Ezra, the teacher of the Law of God, exhorts and encourages them to remember that they were still God's people and that God had not forgotten them. On the day that he read from the Torah, as recorded in the book of Nehemiah, "all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground. "As they began to weep, Nehemiah, the governor, heartened the people by telling them to “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:6 and 10)
We too can receive those words of encouragement as we remember the goodness of God to us and be empowered by the knowledge that with God at our side, we can choose His joy to strengthen us.
