Those alliums look like fireworks you could spray paint them gold or silver for July 4th then use them again for Halloween. Love your content!

I discovered pentas last year. Not sure what took me so long. I am in the Tampa, Fl area and they do so well here in the blazing sun. They do like their water though and with our 3 year drought, that is a challenge but they are so worth it. In late winter, I cut them back and they pop back even hardier in the spring. I’m sure with your weather they will do fantastic.

I didn't really care for that color on the alliums, either. Black will be perfect for Halloween. Thank you so much for sharing!
I think I've seen someone spray paint the alliums purple so they look alive again. Janey did a tour of her garden... Plaid and Poppies maybe? I can't quite remember but whoever it was, she had a spectacularly colorful garden.
Pentas are very easy to grow. Whats nice is they continuously bloom and can bake in the sun. They may look delicate but they’re definitely not. Enjoy them. They come in different colors. I’m in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and have planted them in full sun. They’re a great plant to add if you need something that you don’t want to babysit.

Alliums look beautiful sprayed gold or silver and dusted with glitter. Then just poke them in your Christmas tree or in a garland.

Love the new plants, especially the pentas. We use them a lot in SE Florida. The braided garlic looks great. I am so happy you did not keep the "cadaver grey" alliums in the garden. LOL

I use a light pink on my dried alliums and astilbe and they turn out great!!!! Try that next time. The astilbe turn out great

Pentas are a 12 month plant in Southern California-9B. They also come in many colors, although I have never seen it in that light pink. Enjoy!
I put my old alliums in an old colored bottle. They are in my studio in front of a window with stained glass.

It is so interesting to see what you can get at Lowes vs Home Depot. I live in Salt Lake City and I have the exact opposite experience. I love the pathway mulch from Home Dept because it is a finer and not full of sticks and junk. Oh! and I can't find the Foxfarm dirt any where.
Also, I spray my alums purple and then red white and blue in July. They look great! Love your videos!

I'm in Fayetteville NC and Pentas are a go to plant for us. It does not over winter for us. In zone 8a formerly a 7b. I plant like I'm in 7b

Hi Robbie! I’ve found much takes forever to break down in our dry zone. The GroMulch at Home Depot. It’s super fine and also adds fertilizer.
Dear Robbie, watched you first thing in the morning when i wake up about 3:30 am but don't comment till I get to my computer. Love the flowers and the mulch. I got some and love it too. It is very dark and pretty.
I am zone 9a in va. Love Pentas they're so good when the heat hits.

The braided garlic is awesome. Can you keep that in the house and just cut off the garlic from the bottom as you need them in the kitchen? Will it last about 6 months?

Love the idea of painting the alliums black for Halloween. A local garden center where I live has a huge planting of them and sprays them purple, blues and pinks. They look great. Keep forgetting to try painting my own before I cut them back, duh!

Pentas and the blue plant will go ALL summer and the heat is their BEST FRIEND. Pentas are great from pollinators.
Just put the painted alliums in a vase. They do look pretty by looking on TV.

I love growing pentas in my flower beds but I’ve never seen them in that color. Did you get them at Lowe’s? The alliums would also look good spray painted red, white/silver and blue for Forth of July decor. They look like fireworks. 💚

I ordered a bulk mulch my first year here and I am still fighting weed seeds it brought in and I have to say it was much more work than the bags.

What a fun video while I had my coffee outside by my fire this morning in southern Ontario! It’s lovely and cool here too in the mornings! What colour would you try next with the allium? I have always wanted to do this! I do find that the allium stalk falls over unless they are picked from the bulb and dried a little. I am debating black!
