Crazy how capable this is for being stock other than the upgraded tires. Feel like this setup would suffice for more than 95% of your average persons needs. Keep up the great videos!
It's like a mini ATV. Having good tires would get you anywhere. I have a turbodiesel Chevy Colorado 4x4 and it's a beast in the snow. I've gone through 2 foot drifts with it. Truck has been great so far and it has a rear locker and I run bfg K02s
Ford Motor Company should reward you for this wonderful promotion of their product. I used to have a 2005 Mustang coupe, V-6 Auto with the traction control/anti-lock brake option. With four Michelin X-Ice snow tires it was the best winter car I've ever owned, despite the fact that it did not have limited slip differential. Amazing and truly fun snow vehicle.
The fact that you enjoyed a v6 auto mustang is a testament to how good some of there products are - that should not be a fun car but they did a good enough job to make it so!
I'm blowing up the comments, but this is the best Maverick video on UA-cam. This is EXACTLY what I was looking to see. I live in the same area as you do, and this exact scenario is what I was most wanting to see this little truck handle! Thank you!
The telling point on just how good this little Maverick is is seeing how the quad got stuck in what was basically the same snow. It looked like the big honking F350 dually would not go much further without getting stuck in the same drifts as well. It had about 3 more inches of ground clearance and big huge traction lug tires on it. And probably a rear locking axle too. That FX-4 package was showing its stuff. Your tire upgrade was showing its worth in that snow. Maverick for the win.
Loved seeing you and the fam together out having fun 4 wheeling. You are the one I look forward to to seeing the capabilities of the truck. You're putting miles on it and actually using it, instead of it being a pavement princess. Well done, buddy and I look forward to the next vid
Daniel awesome video..!!! Cool seeing the whole family helping out too... I'm waiting for mine which should be built in Feb. Now you need a doggy cam as well.
I'm really digging the Maverick, just wish it had more ground clearance. I recently bought a '21 Ranger 4X4 and love it. Looks like you got really good tires on your Maverick. Great video and good luck with your Ride. Cool color too.
Canadian here in Northwestern Ontario, just North of Minnesota border. Getting to the end of my rope with my 2010 2wd Ranger always getting stuck. Was eyeing the Maverick but had similar concerns about snow, but this video does a lot of reassuring.
Great test, I just ordered a 24 with 2.0 AWD and trailer tow. Going to lift and use 245/70/17 toyo open country tires. Your video gave me piece of mind, because I drive a lot of back country roads for deer hunting. Thanks, great testing.😊
Cool, thanks for mentioning this is the AWD and not the Hybrid FWD, This definitely makes me lean more towards to the AWD. That being said with the prices and delivery issues today, maybe they will have an Hybrid AWD by the time I can get one.
Ford does great with its AWD. Having extensive experience with it, the system will send up to 50% of total power to the rear. It also engages immediately from a stop and only turns off at about 40mph to save fuel (unless traction is still needed). Using brake torque vectoring, it can also get going with only one wheel on the ground ( at least in dry conditions).
Hey Daniel. Thanx for this video and showing us how capable the Maverick is. We know THIS is your truck you are paying for! Are you in Maverick Chat Forum? This was a AWESOME video! You included your family and pup. This is what makes it truly REAL. Kudos. Hope you get great sucess with this channel. Your family seems really COOL! Take care.
Thanks for the video. I've been watching videos on the Maverick for a couple days now.Your videos are the best showing it's capabilities. Definitely more snow then we will get in Alabama.
Funny story right after I bought mine in Denver We we’re telling my friend how they are pretty rare and you won’t see them too often then one exactly same as mine Is across the street driving 😂😂 still the only one I’ve seen on the road besides mine haha
@@danieldeliverz3642 As I understand it, area 51 is the most popular color, so it's not too surprising. Mine will be hot pepper red when it ever comes. Ordered Oct, xlt fx4 4k tow. Enjoy!!!
Just got my build date and hoping to get truck by end of June. For someone who lives in the snow 4-5 months out of the year I’m very excited to get my truck and plan to get snow tires
Great video brother. This reminds me of playing in the snow with my family . That maverick looks awesome , and is super capable in the snow with those tires
Great video. I grew up on a farm in Western Nebraska. Reminds me of that. We used a model a John Deere tractor to get around when the deep snow hit. Put a chain on it chain up the sled or use a rope and go sledding behind the tractor. Jump and wrestle with my brothers in the snow. Thanks for the memories
I sure don't miss the snow and the cold weather...However, spinning donuts in a field of snow in a Ford Maverick looks like fun. Thanks for sharing. Aloha from Maui :)
Ford should hire you to do a commercial to sell the ruggedness of Maverick in the snow LOL. Did pretty good for a all-wheel drive with a lower ground clearance.
Im in SK and was looking at the Tremor for the added capability for the snow drifts we get on the highway/our towns access road. Looks like the FX4 is just fine (plus wont loose out on 4k towing)
Could you please do a video with a POV showing the speedometer with "Intelligent awd" on the cluster driving on clear road? Just trying to find out how hard you gotta step on the gas to get the power sent to rear wheels Or which setting that keep it awd "ON" at all time. I want to know since I just found out the awd is only part-time(not that its bad).
Excellent driving skills, great fun & deep test of your truck, Daniel! I'm waiting for my Mav to arrive, so what do you think about a 2'' lift kit for more ground clearance? Do you think it will help overall or it might damage the suspension or electronic behavior in the different driving modes. No snow, but a lot of sand here from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Appreciate your thoughts!
"Truck for sale. Florida Car. Never Seen Snow." Hahahhaa just playin'! Suuuuper impressive with how that does off-road. Wheel spin seems to be a huge help with that system. Braap! Cheers, mang 🤙🏾🌴
Watching this makes me appreciate my city.... we are in a valley in upstate NY😊. One hill we call East hill and the other is West hill. The constant wind would be annoying. Our hills block a lot. Are you in Kansas? Flat as a pancake 😅😅 Good video bro.
Ordered a maverick xlt with the off road package and 4k towing a weeks ago! I live on the snow belt in Massachusetts. Do you guys think the bulkier tires that come with the offroad package are enough for those bad new england winters or should I get some snow tires as well. Also is there anything else I can do for the vehicle to make it better in snow, other than obviously getting a bigger more expensive truck?
I have bfg k02s on a 4x4 Colorado and it goes through anything . One time I was driving through snow that was coming over the hood mind you it was light powder though.
So what'd u think were the best tires for the maverick whe driving in the snow? I wanna gear up for mammoth and tahoe as it'll b my first time driving thru the snow up there. also any recs on how to find the best deal on tire upgrades?
I was thinking 2" lift and 32"s on my 2023 FX4 AWD Maverick. Going from a Tundra 4x4. Really my only concern is clearance in some of the area's we hunt
I would have removed that front license frame and dealership ad first thing. I always remove the rear dealership frame. I'm not advertising for any stealerships, I don't care what kinda great deal they gave me still wouldn't.
Absolutely right. You could use a buffing "erasier" to remove their logo from body panels as well. No way I'm advertising for any dealer. Some have resorted to using waterproof stickers as advertising logos that require a heat gun to remove and leave a nasty residue that you have to clean out. They hope you are too scared to damage the paint so you give up. Wrong again.
Why would you go with a wider tire for snow? Sure they're better than the stock tread, but more likely to float rather than bite down through. I'm dropping to a 215 width when I get snows for my Maverick (if it ever gets here) 😡

Awesome! That was fun to watch, as a Canadian I'm looking for affordable small to medium size pickup truck, that will make it through our Winters.
Very impressive for a small truck. I want one.

It would for sure! I was purposely going thru that really tonight stuff too!
Stock size for the same tire would do better in the snow as there is more weight on each tire, a smaller footprint is always better in the snow.
