This is one of the most cringe worthy series I've watched in recent times. I liked the character development of Prajakta in the first episode but the half-hearted programming references made me wince . I've never come across a passionate coder who speaks entirely in programming puns! Also there is no mention of the technicalities of algorithms which Prajakta so proudly claims is a project she can do all by herself despite having a partner. and while Java is her passion, the only time she mentions it is in reference to an "ArrayList" class, that's the equivalent of me pointing to a palace and claiming I'm the king -__-! I know plenty of women who are kick ass programmers but none have been so cringe worthy :/
@@Pikachu-zz5bx I'm really not a very smart peson but I do have a degree in Computer Science and I've never witnessed anything like this...Also Ranvijay's character is a pretty terrible teacher,he thrusts upon the responsibility of developing an entire application to 18 year olds!!. @@RudrashishBose okay, but it was just a typical Indian web series, we can't expect everything precise.one more thing,i had a friend like you who would point out even simplest of mistakes and discuss it in long paras displaying his knowledge (not deliberately),He would use idioms, quotes of some famous personalities. I mean I'm literally surprised the way you wrote this whole para reminds me every bit of him.😂
I would rather wish producers to take actors who are starving in Bombay in search of work coz they are confident of the craft they've been working on... Instead of already famous creators. There is no harm in taking content creators at all. But seeing a specific no. Of instagram followers as a requisite in casting call is sad.
Just want to add this here. Book lovers, please don't give up on reading Sandhya Menon's books because this show is said to be based on one of them. The likeliness between the show and the book stops at 10% similarity max. When Dimple Met Rishi is a really cute book and for all the teen RomCom lovers out there, do check it out. Her writing is brilliant, and as an Indian herself, she's really done a good job with representation ❤️
In the trailer when Rannvijay says, "Jo jeetega, usse ek bahut 'cool internship' milegi, I lost it there itself. Like how much effort did they actually put in the storyline showed. Also Prajakta's acting is good for youtube, but I felt for platforms like Netflix, Prime- she needs to better them and make it look less forceful.
Absolutely sad how actors are casted on the basis of their traction and reach....is that what film making has come to? Influencers over trained true Theatre and struggling independent artists. Soon jaby koay will be also casted 😁
There were many negatives in this series I agree. Overall I feel if you just want to enjoy a carefree romantic story, you can go ahead with this. It's good for a one time watch.
I read the book and that was a good, breezy read as well but the show changed so many things and introduced so many new characters. I personally loved Namrata and felt they should have made more episodes or should have done something more. Like you said, it felt half baked. It started off like the book but then it became some other show, some other world. Its a mis match for my taste.
@@sukanyaparashar9474 well it is a one time watch only. I enjoyed it in bits and pieces and new characters are actually not that bad. But the central focus feels very half baked. Watch it for Rishi maybe ?

IDK if it's just me or anyone else also but the ending was too much to grasp in just a single moment. I need more of it cause I was left unsatisfied when it comes to ending of the season. Hats off to whole of their cast and the directors.

Engineers have an exceptional eye for detail, so much so that they miss the big picture. The mistake/carelessness of showing HTML code instead of JAVA has labeled the series as lame. While in my opinion, it was just a backdrop. It is like punishing "Kuch Kuch Hota hai" for the basketball scene. We should get past our egos of knowledge and enjoy what the artists have to offer. P.S.: I am a computer science engineer and an athlete
I agree but when you are making a series that's gonna release on Netflix or some other platform! you are ought to pay attention to finer details coz people are gonna observe!

The problem with such series is that they are too derivative from Western culture. They don't borrow from the actual life around them, in their own surroundings, in their own social milieu. Hence, perhaps a section of the audience can't relate to it.

I only watched this recently and Dimple is honestly insufferable. I tried to tolerate her “ I’m not like other girls” crap but she’s just so judgmental and annoying. The final straw was when she was told her app was stolen and Rishi confronts on outing namrata and she has the audacity to blame him for it by saying he told her and thats his fault. I liked Celina until she publicly humiliated and outed namrata. Like I understand she’s got her own inner conflicts but it doesn’t excuse how she treated the gay friend. I just cannot bring myself to be invested in Dimple, we get it you’re not LiKe oThEr GirLs.
I was feeling the same concern for Praju. These web platforms are bringing out youtubers for easy marketing but they should be careful because these things can easily fear away their hard earned audience. #mostlysanerocks

You always give such a fresh perspective on things that as a viewer just don't occur to us, but make sense once we hear it. Also, with all honesty I want to understand why not a lot of people are reacting to the lesbian representation shown in the series... It deserves more attention and praise. Especially Alia Bhatt's performance.

I would rather wish producers to take actors who are starving in Bombay in search of work coz they are confident of the craft they've been working on... Instead of already famous creators.

I've read the book too, and I didn't enjoy it that much, especially the lead characters. Would you still recommend the show to me? (Genuinely asking)

Engineers have an exceptional eye for detail, so much so that they miss the big picture. The mistake/carelessness of showing HTML code instead of JAVA has labeled the series as lame.
