I could see this working as a gag, I mean for example the game StarCraft had a joke track in the OST called Overmind's Groove or something. Why not Star Control 2?
make no mistake, the vast majority of games in the age were shovelware too... This was a rare gem because they went into this with a bunch of powerful ideas that worked, on the leading edge of hardware just **BARELY** capable of doing it. Imagine realtime sample mixing on an 80286!
Amazing orchestration. The Kzer-Za are perfect conflicted villains. They are villains, absolutely, but they have an understandable and relatable justification for what they do.
Yeah, that's what makes the Kzer-Za so compelling to me. What they're doing is by definition, drastic and unfair to the races affected by it, but if you went through any of the shit they did then you'd be doing the same thing.
@@Ssstaby It does lend itself to great fun. In one playthrough, I declared war on a race that was about to be destroyed by a Fanatical Purifier, just so I could shield their homeworld. It was a weirdly beautiful moment :D
Heed this recorded message! This song plays with the voice and authority of the Ur-Quan!

Why not Star Control 2?
Ah the time where game developers actually cared, like this, a work of art

The depth of lore behind the Ur-Quan is fascinating, finding out why the do the things they do, discovering how they came to be the way they are.
Either you die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain
The best remix of an UQM song that I’ve heard. You did a really good job at keeping the spirit of the original.
HOLY SHIT AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PIECE OF ART OF UQM CONTENT IN 2020
seriously, this is amazing, please do more
i didnt know people still played
@@notstardream the times where you encounter a UQM fan in a place not about UQM may be few and far between, but they are beautiful moments
@@zelnick9196 yeah, its a shame i suck at it though
@@notstardream It's not your fault, the combat's impossible
It manages to hint at the history of the Ur-Quan while keeping the original feel.
This is such a good remix. I wish there were more
Now and Forever.
This puts an intricate and epic spin on an awesome theme.
good morning, kzer-za commander #492394
The true sequel to Star Control 2 is coming out soon. Free Stars: Children of Infinity.
soon as in, mebbe a year or two?
@@tsm688 I think it's slated for sometime in 2025?
@@tsm688 Sooner than waiting 33 years for a sequel.

Well this is friggin' amazing.
This is truly an epic masterpiece!
Almost reminds me of Ironwood's theme from RWBY, and trust me that is a compliment.
Something about those brass horns. Mhm.
Awesome stuff. I'm really impressed
Amazing, job well done!
Amazing game, amazing cover.
The Ur Quan Kzer Za are the definition of Cruel but Necessary. Peace imposed by force under their new order.
ALL HAIL THE SPACE CENTIPEDES!
This is fantastic, please do more. Also, it was fans of star control 3 that downvoted, dont pay attention to them.
star control 3 fans are fine. they just didn't realize how much of the dialogue was recycled.
i find your comment in mystery skull hellbent
Ok. How ia this even possible? Tell the story! And when to waith more?
