I liked that layering of the material and curing it. Makes it look more durable than the ordinary just build up composites, How do they compare in price with the porcelain veneers

arent you affraid of unpolimerized composite touching papilla and in any sense contaminating composite ? when you flush so many times- cords absorb water- arent you affraid that the most important place will not be sealed well because of water/sulcus fluid ? what about tapping composite with your finger ? Is it ok ?
I just got veeners for my front teeth diastema done a week ago after 7 years of metal braces and aligners. Now the space is slowly coming back again. The dentist didn’t put any permanent retainers on as planned as she doesn’t think I need them, I guess cause she thinks the veeners will stop the teeth from moving, but it’s moving. Sigh🤦🏾♀️

Longevity of something like this is also highly dependent on the technical skill of the dentist. If you end up having an overhang or marginal void, then it can lead to decay.

Hi Harry, if you get your regular cleaning once every 6 months, you should not have any problems. But if you don't, smoking or drinking red wine, for example, can affect the color of the restorations over a long period of time.
Hi Polina Grace, I tell patients to expect typically between 7-12 years of service with composite veneers. However, I have patients that have had the composite veneers last longer than that, and have had some that have had failure earlier. The advantage of composite veneers is that if there is any staining or chipping, it can be polished or repaired easily. Hope that helps!
It varies from case to case. Your dentist will look into the length to width ratio of your teeth, and how they will relate the rest of the smile. Some cases you will need ortho to close the spaces or get the teeth closer together before the restorative dentist can do a procedure like the one demonstrated in this video. Other cases the restorative dentist can do the job without ortho. We hope that helps!
How durable are these? i mean if I look at the 2 front teeth, its got more surface to bond onto but I cant picture trying this on smaller teeth with a lesser surface area? And could you eat normally as in bite into an apple for example without anything breaking?
Thanks for your question Shameemah. There is no “expiration date” on composite restorations. They can last for several years. Patients are advised to treat their restorations just like their natural dentition. They can eat whatever they want but should not open bottles with their teeth, chew on bones, or do anything that they should not be doing anyway…. When the dentist follow correct protocols, take in consideration occlusion, and make sure to address any grinding, these restorations are very durable. Even on smaller teeth, you can get a great bond strength when protocols are followed. I hope that helps!

Why didn't you use a rubber dam and how did you build the contact without a matrix ?

does the retraction cord that you used during the procedure will cause gingival recession??
Ola Raad, in my experience, properly placed, the use of a small diameter retraction cord should not cause any tissue recession.

Tapping the composite with the finger is ok ,, and i do have the same concern regarding the unpolimerized composite touching the papilla
Of course composite to glove is fine. If you want you can change gloves right before application of composite.

Doesn't it change color from smoking or tea drinking? My plastic onlays turned orange.
