That is some awesome woodgrain. I don't think I have the courage to climb up on my harbor freight machine and hollow out something that large through a tiny hole like that. Nice work, very inspiring. Beautiful machine too. #dukaheritage
@@dukaheritage9445 yeah, I have a feeling I'll be mounting that harbor freight machine soon. I hopped on it and wiggled around testing it out earlier this evening and it seems pretty sturdy. It's got to be better than breaking my back leaning over it. I broke my back in 3 places in 2001 and the titanium rods and screws get angry when I hunch over too long.
Gorgeous piece! Looking at it at first, I really couldn't imagine how you were going to get that lump into any kind of shape for the lathe...but of course you did! And even though the clock behind the lathe is for you, it helps us to, to have an idea of the real time you spend on a project! Thanks for taking us on the ride!

Thank you my friend, just try to see the piece through the outside of the wood, try your best to imagine the paths of the grain and always remember curling and quilting is caused by weight over time, hope this helps ✌️
