The real mvp of this update is the merge sorting. No longer must we play "What goes where" for the entirety of our playthru

Sounds pretty great. The only thing I didn't like is that the traitor missions rise in deadliness throughout the campain. It feels like that gives less control over finetuning that experience for a group of people, that might just want the least disruptive traitor missions in the game. An option to enable or disable that scaling would be neat.
Edit: MIght've misunderstood this. Reading through it, it sounds like the option defines the maximum danger of the traitor missions and the starting ones are always the less disruptive ones.
Yep, that option is specifically for disabling those more disruptive traitor missions if you want to let's say limit the traitor objectives to mostly-harmless pranks or non-lethal sabotage. :)

it's likely simply "grabbing" it, i wouldn't expect any crazy new animation

Maybe you can find a crew by teaming up with others who also are looking for players. The steam discussion board could help you here.
IMO the probability of becoming a traitor should be COMPLETELY random. Otherwise we're gonna have metagaming where security keeps track of who has not been the traitor yet and kill them off just in case at the start of the round.

At the very least, a toggle between round robin and total random would be nice. Or a slider for the weight of the round robin effect.
If we compare to the inspiration of this game (Space Station cough cough) which does it randomly, most of the time you get traitor you have no idea what is going on or how to traitor effectively because the games are so long and the chance is really low (If there are 50-60 people on a server then the chance would be 2/50 ~ 3/60 something like that, nothing too rare but not enough to practice) and the people who are really good at traitoring have shorter games as a result (because they win) and thus have more opportunity to play as traitor since rounds are shorter.
Anyways, here it's a little bit different since there's much less people on a server at once so it being random wouldn't be that bad, but having a toggle between round robin and random would allow for both new players to train and for older players to have a fair chance at playing the game
I was playing recently and the same person got traitor 3 times in a row. I don't think it works like that
@shroomer3867 I've played close to a thousand rounds of ss13 and have been traitor twice lmao. That's all on goon1.
Honestly fantastic that we have circut boxes i actually made on my custom ship my own boxes which where just some design fluff with the components close together... for my ship that had many unique systems
Love doing that. I like the circuit boxes but also having decoration boxes also looks amazing

I haven't gone very deep in to the game.
As such, a question: Why would people want to modify the electronics? I get the circuit box. It's management, right? But why the customisation?
I understand modifying wirings and the logic for ship functions may be a very basic thing to consider in Barotrauma, but I'm unfamiliar with the benefits.

There needs to be a karma system associated to the player/account, dat everyone can read (like an employment resume)
so a "Chernobyl" accident doesn't go unnoticed in another server
Make access to the reactor need captain ID and lock default wiring? Also you can use the logs to see if someone is up to no good by messing up the wiring.

they want a player log that can be seen across servers, not a basic server log
(I understand the problem, but I feel this could be done very poorly, causing someone who got banned/framed unfairly, not being allowed in other servers)

Pets literally die instantly the ship is hit by a hammerhead. Everything except this is good and it is much harder to heal them now without spamming pomegrenade extract in syringe guns.

Me and my friends don't really care to grief each other, the ocean is plenty dangerous without it. I hope the rest of the updates are focused on the fun pve content.
Well, the backpack and new storage system is still worth it tho.

The circuit boxes sound great, but need work. Unless I'm missing something you can't copy and paste existing component arrays into a circuit boxes in the sub editor. Also, you don't seem to be able to copy and paste components within the circuit box when working in it. Seems a big oversight.
Feel free to leave direct feedback on Barotrauma's steam discussion board. It's easier for the devs to see that way.

I hope in this game's future we can actually set up our own outposts for trading and supplies anywhere we want where it's vacant. We could get traders to come on by with supplies and trade them some of our mined ore for other items

This update is huge
It's a great update, however I find that the impact damage is slightly more then I have expected. Since me and a friend of mine tried it out and just simple mudraptors kept knocking us off our feet while mounting the turrets but the hammerhead on the otherhand only slammed twice into the submarine and 3 crew members died because of the inflictions. Not saying I hate it, just is a little much. (Adding a slider for stuff like that would be a great addition to the game, to change it back to it's previous damage output) 😅

Would also be nice to see some focus brought onto less complex systems that maybe only a small portion of the playerbase will actually use. (Which is fine!, I just feel like it's being a bit too prioritized.)
The amount of times I've heard my crew bots sing the same poem is quite painful. I'd love it if there were more lines of dialogue between them.

Do people actually play through campaigns with the traitor system enabled? Seems counterproductive with you losing your stats on death. Plus even without traitors turned on, many of the people who join public servers are just there to troll anyway.

Oh, so we can store less now? The raised stack size doesn't come close to the original volume of storage we had.
And the oxy tanks now take up more space, plus store less overall as well.
Was this really in response to performance issues late in the game when players have hoarded everything? Why did this need a balance patch? If they were lagging from storing too much, they could sell or dump it.
It makes things much simpler. Juggling a stack of oxygen tanks in your inventory when diving is a huge pain in the ass. Making them last longer but only stack to 1 makes things much easier, and i'm all for it.
@@peao010109 It doesn't make it simpler though. Makes things more finicky in my opinion.
I went from having 8 tanks, that I can swap out with ease, taking up 2 slots at the most, to now having 3-4 tanks that always take up that space as I now need more inventory slots taken up to have even remotely the same air capacity.
Side rant;
The storage is worse as well, went from having stacks of around 96 to 32 per slot.
You may say it makes things easier to see what's in what when it comes to no longer needing to put things in containers, but I'd say that a little organizing went a long way. Each container held its own resource, put it in alphabetical order if you must, 96 stacks of whatever you want.
Now that they've added the auto sort and stack, the original complaint no longer is valid, so there's no need to remove being able to stack storage containers.
This is a straight up nerf to everything that we had. It's not a rework or improvement like they are saying.
They should just admit that they either couldn't fix the performance impact it had, or that they just wanted to nerf the hell out of it instead of pretending it's to make it easier/better for people.
You should do a campaign with it, trust me, it's so much better than it was before
I gotta partially agree on that I’m honestly more upset by the new extrem impact damage changes
Edit: If just if you go into the abyss won’t it technically be an instant loss? Since you have to face either of the 3 abyssal monsters. Even the submarine I use seems useless now because of the massive impact damage output (The Iroh)

Вы конечно молодцы, теперь у нас валяются тонны ящиков с ресурсами и некуда их складывать, а с кислородными баллонами вообще ужас, по одному на слот это уже кощунство(они повсюду джонни)
Сломали игру как обычно, моды то ладно, но именно из за изменений то что сортировали несколько часов теперь по всей лодке
Так все балонны теперь в целом по 45 мин длятся, конечно не старые 8 штук в кармане, но это и вправду было немного глупо и дизбалансно. А на счёт ресурсов, все контейнеры получили бафф на 32 предмета в слот, и чемоданы тоже можно складывать в отдельные слоты
А мы с друзьями просто поступаем, я пишу мод на XML, который возвращает и возможность контейнеры ложить обратно, слотов побольше и стакать баллоны, хоть они и дольше действуют, но это кощунство, да.
Поэтому, приходится приспосабливаться к условиям европ... игры и все адаптировать, ааахахаха

No, people who haven't been a traitor for a while (or in a long time) are just more likely to get picked, but there's still a fair bit of randomness involved.

You get more inventory space overall, though? Yes, oxy doesn't stack, but it's way smaller deal than you may think
WDYM less inventory space? Literally nothing was changed about item stacks in inventories, if anything, you have more inventory space because backpacks were added

Congrats you made the a lot worse than before. I don't like new cabinet system and worse stackeble oxygen items. Also i would love to see full desable of traitors in missions.
