I would wish Patrick well but based on his voice in this episode, I assume he left this world shortly after recording. So let me say what a wonderful part of the hobby Pat was - his contribution will not be forgotten. At least in heaven you can paint

My 10 year old daughter has recently taken an interest in miniature painting. I got her hooked when we painted up our Heroquest set together. I am glad to see that the hobby has become more inclusive and welcoming toward women. I am thankful that there is a growing community of female content creators and hobbyists that can help inspire and encourage my daughter to pursue her interests. Great show as all ways. Thank you.

The Painting Phase has been so good for making me realise that, though every painter probably started painting for different reasons, we all now have very similar experiences with the hobby; the regulating of breath, the warped perception of time; the way that it calms the mind and engages a state of meditation, I'm fascinated! The fact that painting can be a very personal, solo element (unless, like me, you have a long-suffering partner who occasionally comes in and asks how things are coming along with 'the tiny space elves') means it's easy to lose touch with our little foibles and tics as we paint; turns out we're all the same, in many ways!
    Great show as always, chaps!

Awesome episode. I really enjoyed Rach as a guest and the discussion of the different types of fantasy. I think the definition of " High Fantasy" vs "Low Fantasy" vs "Urban Fantasy” varies a lot from person to person. The definition I work from is:
“High Fantasy” - magic, monsters and traditional fantasy races like orcs are an everyday accepted part of life. Somebody seeing a person doing a spell would not be more surprised by it than you and I would be seeing a really skilled glass blower. We might be surprised by the person's level of skill in a rare trade but it isn’t going to break our understanding of the universe.
“Low Fantasy” - Magic, monsters and fantasy races exist but are extremely rare and /or secret. So it might take place in a medieval setting but it is close to the middle ages as they actually happened with plagues and people dying from infected hangnails. Maybe 1 magic sword or dragon exists but it is surprising to people as finding a magic sword would be IRL
“Urban Fantasy” - Can be high or low fantasy but takes place in a modern or at least post industrial revolution setting.
All 3 types can be great stories ….and awesome settings for wargames!

I painted an Infinity miniature from the Defiance boardgame and I absolutely loved it. I was so proud of it. I took photos, ran them through some filters before posting them to my painting page on Facebook. The first comment was pointing out a MASSIVE mold line right down the front of the thigh, highlighted even more by the lighting in the photo. I was so gutted.
On the subject of Infinity, I absolutely love Infinity. They're my favourite miniatures bar none and I really wanna sing their praises. But if you don't like building models, stick with Warhammer. Because if you stray outside of those amazing plastic kits, it's like the wild west when it comes to building miniatures.

There are some Studio Ghibli model kits you can buy. I got some at the museum in Tokyo, the Porco Rosso plane and some Nausicaa models too, can probably get the online somewhere

Another excellent video and The Warhammer Girl was a great guest. Hope Pat's feeling better!
As for other potential female guests, I think it would be absolutely incredible if you guys could manage to get Trish Carden on the show. Besides having sculpted some of my all time favourite minis at Games Workshop and ForgeWorld (and an amazing sculpts at Footsore recently), I get the impression from the content on her socials that she'd make a fascinating guest with a ton of war stories from Games Workshop and the mini industry on the whole!

When Rachel said Grave of the Fireflies, I had the same reaction, don’t watch it. But it’s brilliant.

EMA Model Supplies (London) their Plastic Weld is just as quick as super glue, I'm really amazed that so many people haven't heard of it, it's not new either

I've just had to jump on a comment quickly. I'm one of those podcast weirdos who occasionally watches a quick painting vid. listening to this episode when Peachy mentions reading to his lad, the diagraphs and being corrected is the story of my life. My twin girls are seven and they still do it to me 😂😂😂

Not familiar with Rachel but she was a great guest, good banter and great talk and it's always (or usually) good to talk more about mental health.

deep bassy pat this week! Hope you feel better soon lad! On Peach's bit about you need the negative with the positive, I found out about you guys through the hacking incident cause of all the other creators who came out to support you during that so that's a good example and I've discovered a load of new creators through you guys too

On the front of Ghibli (which I’m told by more fluent Japanese speakers is pronounced more like jiblee, but I pronounce like you), there are models out there of some characters both physical and digital. Producing them for retail sale is definitely not legal normally, but in Japan they have a special exception for hobby shows where you can get them from time time as well (ignoring 1/8th to 1/4 scale garage kits).
Lots of stuff in this episode I nodded along to.
