right?? this is so 2020 content, how can one man be so fucking creative and talented to the extent that you create something that is 10 years ahead!!!!!!!!!!!! Genius!!
i remember when this came out. i was in college only interested in science, i didn’t consider current hip hop real “art” ..i thought the only art in hip hop was the hyper intellectual stuff found in early hip hop & alt hip hop. my boyfriend at the time (who was from oakland & was a lot more progressive & open minded vs me being a child immigrant & from ny) was trying to educate me & expose me to new things & show me how kanye was changing the definition of art through this film. how he was transcending the narrow boundaries i had placed in my mind about art & expression, how he was taking art into a higher dimensional plane. i, as well as kanye, am a person with bipolar. my ex was telling me this is how he felt taking me in public. that deep down i had this wilderness inside of me that people always judged & tried to suppress, but i am a supernatural force & my true nature always comes out in the end, scaring the people around us. he said this was one of the things he really loves about me, and that he understood what kanye was saying about his other worldly muse through his own experiences with me. i never really was a big fan of ye until recent events, when he finally started speaking out & speaking his truth, even if it horrifies everyone at the dinner table. man, am i grateful that conversation with my ex was my introduction to ye as a true artistic genius. we may not have lived to see many of the greats, but we are alive to see the great kanye, and that is a tremendous blessing 💜
A masterpiece. I remember being a teenager and watching this the night it dropped on the website. I return to it every now and then over the years. Ye is more than just an artist. One day people will realize they're making a mistake by mocking him. He is truly one of the greatest.
Almost spiritual…. This is why we just let Kanye be himself because he delivers every time. All his bodies of work are beyond amazing. He practically made his own lane. ❤️

Nathan Trujillo I recently just discovered Kanye’s discography and I think I might have an unpopular opinion when I say that everything he’s put out is great in its own way. New, old, experimental or not.
@Nathan Trujillo I felt like Life of Pablo had good and bad lyrics and JIK is debatable. Yeezus though... Idk about Yeezus sometimes. My feelings are also mixed about some of Ye.
Kanye ran 2010 in hip hop. The rollout for this album was legendary; Good Fridays, Runaway MTV VMA’s performance, Power, Monster singles, short film then the actual album. I will never forget how exciting that time was for me at 17 years old. Most influential artist of the 21st century.
People call him crazy. But if this is being crazy then this world doesnt deserve this craziness. He is at another level. Truly masterpiece. Way ahead of its time.
that whats make him the goat people run off with his old ideas like the visual album and he really the one who really utilize the 808s .....dropping songs every friday...beyonce even stole the visual album. sometimes i wonder how talented he really could be if his music wasnt controlled by the industry he would make even more better music shit cray

@@1shyy524 The media portrays him as an "evil" person just because he's married happily to Kim Kardashian and supports Trump. Also, Taylor Swift set him up so bad, don't forget Drake dissing him. It's like most people at Hollywood are against him.
Dude, every single celebrity experiences that shit. Kanye isn't any different than any other artist when it comes to that. Lucas Larsen Not really. Kanye gets 10x more hate than pretty much anybody else that you could name. Plus, the reasons are ridiculous, like people don’t agree with his political opinions so they hate him lmfao
Every song on this album will make you feel something. Since it came out right when i was starting college and breaking up with my gf of 6 years and like just starting out in life, it MEANS so much more. I bought it and listened to it with my friends non stop. I cry at certain songs, this song, blame game, those types, others make you hype as fuck, others are art pieces you just marvel at. It's (the album) amazing and it's COMPLETE. A vulnerable piece of work from a legend hands down, and it's truly beautiful and twisted, but in a relatable way, especially now in my 30s, feeling like I've given up on love, at least trustful meaningful love. And hating it but seeing that I've become a doucgebag and asshole. Like forcing introspection on yourself, and it's great cause that is how we grow. Not listening to stuff with a good beat or stuff that just makes you rage and want to hurt people, or zone out and just dance or whatever. That's mind control. Listen to the stuff that will help you grow or that will teach you things. Things that make you FEEL things and that can cause change. Only beautiful magnificent art and can do that. I've never felt like that about paintings or stuff, but loving this album has made me realize the benefit and the statement that "art" can have on people, as this has on me. I love kanye as a person for him being himself at a point when i was questioning who i was gonna be and who i wanted to become after high school. I just hope he hasn't got taken in by evil, or been switched for whoever he is now. His new albums aren't helping my cause. He went from a religious album, to a straight up demonic vibe on his newest one. He talked about how his handler was threatening to get him on lithium again and take his kids away, then kanye said that if he goes away and comes back with a different message that he was cloned..... i mean come on, he certainly was out the lime light for a while then comes back seeming different and sounding different, it just seems off. Even if they just got him mentally, something is off and it's scary. I want him to be like chance the rapper really.
A statement that is still true today "First rule in this world baby, don't pay attention to whatever you see on the news". This man resurrected Hip hop in his prime.
This entire film makes me proud to be born and raised in Illinois no matter location or the situation. Every song included in this has gotten me through so much shit. One love to the legend.
@@Henry-ul7uh Not rap specifically, but Michael Jackson's film work comes to mind- you've got Thriller and Bad, which are short both films containing their respective music videos, and Moonwalker, an entire anthology film containing his music and videos for Smooth Criminal and other songs.
Brandon St. Whyte but what's the meaning behind what he's saying? I can't think of it I'm pretty sure the bird is his creativity but I can't figure it out
The bird IS Kanye's creativity, and she IS really beautiful, but the man at the table notices she's a bird and asks rudely asks Kanye if he met her at a zoo. Its suppose to be a metaphor for how people approach Kanye's artistry- sure his creative soul is "beautiful", like his music is successful, but its not held in well regard, is considered uncultured (notice how the lady at the table rejects the phoenix's offering to break bread), and savage as everyone at the table treats the phoenix like a zoo attraction. Kanye obviously is upset at this, and this scene launches into Runaway, a song about unchanging assholes and their need to be true to themselves. MBDTF was made after the Taylor Swift fiasco and his breakup with Amber Rose. When the people at the table mock and disrespect the phoenix, Kanye is essentially trying to show how the media mocks him for his unwillingly to censor his opinions and creativity, by calling him egoistic or a jackass. The phoenix, by no fault of its own, is attracting undue negative attention, by a very critical an close minded audience.
I think he's also sort of talkibg to his emotions and wishing them away, hence he says can't you just run away, because then his problems would be over.
I just really sat down and watched this from start to finish, and I’m just amazed! I’m amazed how Kanye has really changed music, fashion, and the culture as we know it for the better! We gotta stick with him, and just constantly keep him prayed up because we need him to live and give us more of what God has him to give us!!! 💯

I cried in witness of art at it finest.
i remember when this came out. i was in college only interested in science, i didn’t consider current hip hop real “art” ..i thought the only art in hip hop was the hyper intellectual stuff found in early hip hop & alt hip hop. my boyfriend at the time (who was from oakland & was a lot more progressive & open minded vs me being a child immigrant & from ny) was trying to educate me & expose me to new things & show me how kanye was changing the definition of art through this film. how he was transcending the narrow boundaries i had placed in my mind about art & expression, how he was taking art into a higher dimensional plane. i, as well as kanye, am a person with bipolar. my ex was telling me this is how he felt taking me in public. that deep down i had this wilderness inside of me that people always judged & tried to suppress, but i am a supernatural force & my true nature always comes out in the end, scaring the people around us. he said this was one of the things he really loves about me, and that he understood what kanye was saying about his other worldly muse through his own experiences with me. i never really was a big fan of ye until recent events, when he finally started speaking out & speaking his truth, even if it horrifies everyone at the dinner table. man, am i grateful that conversation with my ex was my introduction to ye as a true artistic genius. we may not have lived to see many of the greats, but we are alive to see the great kanye, and that is a tremendous blessing 💜

I cannot beleive how much I've been sleeping on this mans discography
Nathan Trujillo I recently just discovered Kanye’s discography and I think I might have an unpopular opinion when I say that everything he’s put out is great in its own way. New, old, experimental or not.

A MASTERPIECE!!!!! THE ACTUAL BLUEPRINT!!
And fuck all yall, I'm bored. Lol it won't hurt ya to read more than a few sentences at a time 😂😂😂

"No, I never noticed that."
Fucking lol'd
12Weirdogirl Holy fuck, Kanye is actually a genius.
I think he's also sort of talkibg to his emotions and wishing them away, hence he says can't you just run away, because then his problems would be over.
I'm not sure we'll ever see this level of artistry from another rapper ever again 😢
