Men of war 2 will have a lot to do to cope with this debt, in terms of visuals and especially Gates of hell has better effects, the skins of the soldiers look more realistic, in men of war 2 the skins are like painted.
Without giving a whole rundown/opinion about every detail MOW2 has some real nice things, like no lobby simulator, just click ready, and get into a 5v5 Reverse key Interesting building warfare However GoH pretty much wins in a lot of other ways Really it's do you like PvP? Maybe MOW2 is more your shot Do you like realism, historical accuracy, SP/COOP? Get GoH Then again, I like both for their own reason and will play and have played both
The best feature in men of war 2 is the ability to examine boxing without waiting on someone to stand right next to it. As long as the box or vehicle is in sight, it can be examined.
@@theShermanator I'd like to know like you Said in the video if any of the Devs have beaten that on their own. It looked crazy hard with both you and Davison playing. That woulf be a lot if micromanagement for one person.
I decided to go in fresh on this one today with fog of war off, on hardcore. I got my ass waffle stomped by the Americans. Completely cocked it up. I had a great time though! I’m currently listening to ‘Normandiefront’ on audible and am at the part where the 3rd Fallschirmjeager Div gets annihilated defending the approach to St.Lo. It’s pretty damn accurate. It kind of feels like the hedgerow version of ‘The Legend of Krasny Bor’. You have assets, but barely scraping by with very little time to setup a proper defense.
During ww2 many veterans from the Easter front were sent to the west to fight these divisions were SS troops and panzer divisions and elite German paratroopers these veterans fought in many theaters towns and close quarters a lot so they would be using many tactics from the east such as molitovs
Couple things I'd reccomend (as an armchair general). First split the map in half you take left they take right or vice versa to cut down on micro. Having mixed troops really destroys your ability to focus and you lose guys across the map while being focused somewhere else. Second keep foxholes away from hedge rows since the grenades getting tossed lost a lot of guys. When setting up ambushes remember sight lines and where possible have ambushes set from the furthest range effective. If you have a at troop they need infantry support panserfaust troops should be behind rifleman with at grenades. This allows the inf with at grenades to take the first hit if infantry advances and to save your more valuable at weapons with standoff range. I understand blocking off hedgerows with hedge hogs but it's also important to note that they can still sit at the opening and engage troops. So it's better to have troops hidden not to engage the infantry at the gap but only once they push further past the sight line of the opening. Sometimes it can be more valuable to use the hedgehogs to "guide" the tanks into the hedgerow locations where it's easier to engage instead of in some cases pushing then out to open space avoiding the hedgerow locations. My last thing is that instead of saving the half track I would have just grabbed the mines asap and got them down immediately on roads or fallback points. The .50 could be useful but the mines were the real prize. In this situation it almost would have been worth it to pull a half track up transfer the equipment and then retreat it to safety then employing the use of the mines. You probably also noticed the AT gun on the left was left wat to much in the open. Since they are pushing you guide the tanks into an ambush instead of a brawl between at gun and tank. Loving the videos, super excited for this dlc cant wait to play some french vs german campaigns with mods on these maps.
Honestly reading what you said, I feel like we did 90% of that, the mine/halftrack strat is a bit rough, as you could tell we were very low on manpower, even from the start, probably having an odd 15ish dudes at most each, microing them to put mines down was just not very viable, especially as the front was so wide, ~20 extra mines wouldnt have matter imo, granted the messing about with the halftrack was a bit silly but I wanted a .50 real bad but in the end it wasnt even worth using
@@theShermanator Well not really lots of hedgehogs got put into the woods especially in center which is where youd want armour to push into. Secondary was the foxholes and individual units right beside hedgerows. Like I said AT needed accompaniment but with the limited numbers of troops its more difficult. Then with mines the waste of time. The amount of time in the open and reviving over the half track could have placed the whole strip of mines. Especially due to the secondary fall back objective you could have dropped a fair bit of AT mines on the main roads
I just love these maps. Just feels like hole new game and detail is unreal. Cheers for these vids just growing the hype for the new dlc. Devs did so well for all mow fans🎉
@@theShermanator Even the videos gfx just looks amazing. Western front winter maps and SP missions cant wait!!! All I wish the devs put in the auto medics like the mod👌
YES lookin good. i prefer these types of campaign missions to the ones with like 5 map changes or extensions and long ass cutscenes in between, always being told specifically what to do and still never know what's next. I feel like a lot of the SP missions in goh have been a little like that so far, although i have only played a few. played every single mow:as2 mission though, and i remember them being better in this regard. like more clear what you're supposed to be doing. Anyways nice vid. :)
Well, infantry can only go 3rd person For tanks, you just enter Direct Control and press the switch DC mode button, for me that's "T" and then you can scroll wheel to enter the tank sights or gun sights
Man it looks great, I can't wait to try US conquest once it comes out. Might start Finnish one for now, as I have finally found time to finish my USSR one
Quite seriously a 9/10 (secretly hoping we get to see a Market Garden/Netherlands addon to this to make it 10/10 down the line :) ) hopefully Barbedwire Devs see this :D
Id love to see this game add France. Like bigger battles late an early war then smaller sized battles mid war/ During the occupation.i think it would be cool especially defence of the Maginot line 😊😊
France would be really cool but sadly only be useable for a short while in 1939-1940 and I guess after from mid 44 onwards again They could be cool to have as part of a multi-nation DLC, like Italy and France or Poland and France for sure though
@theShermanator yeah. It would be good for the ones who make maps and battles aswell. But also then they could say idk if its the British vs Germans, certain French units could be called in like resistance fighters or something to use kinda like cannon fodder.
I exceedingly hate your clickbait style titles. I understand why, shit's proven to work, but christ, finding a specific mission from you is impossible save for guessing.

I think that the human faces in Robz mod were better than the current Goh faces in goh they look Kinda melted
Seems like Men of War 2 won't be trying to compete with GoH and is instead trying to gather the Company of Heroes orphans.
