Instead of using bulk edit for images in Excel, you can create your own note type in Manage Note Type. Just clone the Basic type and add a new field called "image". Then, in the same window, click the Cards button and, in the Back Template, write where {{image}} is the name of your new field. After that, you just need to enter the file name in the CSV file, not full html code sample as in video. Easy peasy!
Thank you. I have pinned your comment as it is a very good one. I made the video 4 years ago and my Anki skills have since improved but I am always learning. Appreciate you sharing with the community.😄
This saves so much time...so many important info. Concurrently on my search I did find the export to CSV addon before finish viewing this video. Please create more videos. I'm tackling Chinese calligraphy (traditional of course) as a complete beginner to the language and learning Anki at the same time. As a visual, spatial, kinesthetic learner, the way layout of the menu items and sub items presents a steep learning curve.
Wow...!!! This videos was so helpul and your voice is so understandable for an English learner like me. :D U are doing and excellent job Mss. God bless you.
@@MandarinMania I’ll have to watch the video again! It was such a long time ago now I’m not sure what I was trying to do! Knowing me I will have found an alternative… but I will check
I had problem with syncing & running the deck I made using this method on Ankimobile. The image not appeared on iOS app. Solved this problem by changing ".jpg" from front field into ".JPG".. lol for those have same problem with iOS app, check if the upper/lower case of the image file name matches the one you wrote.
When I copy the formula, Excel does not let me enter and says I have a problem with the formula ( the '" following the src poses a problem). I have typed in the angle brackets but it still does not work. Have any idea how to fix it ? I've tried finding the exact error, on LibreOffice it says error 501 which means there is a problem with the symbols (parentheses opener/closer missing or something like that). It's really frustrating.
I did exactly like the video and everything worked fine but when i flip to view the picture it appears like a line or a slit and i cant see anything, i can view the full picture in edit though.
I just love your two Anki creation videos. I am, however, having a problem. I typed in the formula as per your instructions, but it is not picking up the names of my image. All it does is re-create the same formula without changes all the way down. Thank you so much for sharing these. Are you planning on any new ones, not specifically for Chinese?
I took a much-needed break for a while and only saw your comment now...sorry. I hope you solved your problem. If you haven't seen it already, I created a new Anki video on automatically adding audio, that can be used for any language not just Chinese: ua-cam.com/video/QYK2GPxksq4/v-deo.html
Hey there! I have pictures that I want to turn into Anki flashcards. Front : Picture 1 - Back: Picture 2. Is it possible to do it by using your method? Thanks in advance!
Alejandro Arevalo Yes just base your cards on a note type that has back and front pictures. I discuss note types briefly in this video. If you do not have a note type you can copy and edit a note type to your liking.
@@lualejo2015 hey ,can you please elaborate on how your friend helped? because ,even i want to make similar anki flashcards as you. or maybe i could connect you on some other social media app?

Glad to hear it!
the images aren't showing up, it just gives me the name of the image. can you please help?
Is the image name formatted exactly like this: when viewing it in Anki?? In this example, test.jpg would be the file name you are using.
This video has helped me a lot. Thank you so much♥. Have a great day
Very happy to hear it!
I just can’t get the formula to work, Excel keeps telling me there is an error. I have tried and tried. :(
If this is still a problem for you, copy and paste your formula from your spreadsheet into a reply here...I will take a look at it.

maybe you can't add images because excel, try it =""
What about the audio field?!
I have other videos that discuss audio. 🙂
This video also mentions adding audio to CSV: ua-cam.com/video/w_gieyVnKXs/v-deo.html
Hi. What is the formula for inserting a voice file? Thank you
I use HyperTTS to automatically add audio: ua-cam.com/video/QYK2GPxksq4/v-deo.html

Have you tried typing the whole formula without copying and pasting any of it? Some other people reported a problem when pasting.
