Baby Cwayton I agwee with you! I think 7th gen is the last frontier for game collecting. All these PS4 and Xbox One games were released in an era where a new meta for maximizing game development profits was realized. Lots of patches, DLC, and made to be ported on any future console physically and digitally. If physical goes away, I still do not think demand will overcome supply enough to make many of them valuable. Would require the unpredictable circumstance of a game being delisted, existing physically on ps4 or xbox one, AND a game that was patchless, low print and good. That being said, a lot of people will raise the point about limited run games. I think most LRG and similar publishers released budget games from small developers who will never delist their games and if they can sell another batch of 10k physical copies and make some more money, they definitely will comission another print run on modern consoles. There's just not much to like about 8th gen physical collecting. Its all flimsy case, cheap discs, no manuals... Except when it was published TO BE COLLECTIBLE in which case 90% of all copies were bought speculatively and kept sealed, ready for a hundred copies to get listed on ebay as soon as the game takes a jump in price. Just like anything that gets mass produced as a collectible at retail. The true collectible games are ones that nobody thought to collect until years went by. I think the most undervalued console to buy for right now is the Wii. Get ahead of it! PS3 is pretty good also.
