You should do a video where whoever’s on the great powers list has really bad effects, essentially representing large empires having problems and collapsing
I think a cool idea would be to give a buffed Lucky modifier to countries that are usually gone very soon (for example Byzantium, Granada, Scotland, Teutonic Order, Novgorod)
This probably ain’t feasible, but it would be hilarious to bring Drew Durnil on as a guest, doing a esports-esc commentary between you two. Format probably doesn’t work for that too well, but having the old great and the new would be really fun.
Definitely revisit the lucky nations. You could try rotating the modifier after a number of years, "bestowing" it upon nations that fullfil criteria so that they become more op; as lucky nations are intended to function. Also certainly keep the face cam, adds an interactiveness to the whole video.
That Byzantium was a welcome sight to see, but sadly didn't reach the heights needed to be a Based-zantium. Also, your editor is putting the work in to get that bread. Damn.
Day 50 of asking for there is no subjects (I mean not just removing subjects in 1444 but maybe an event that makes a nation independent when it's a suject)
@@burtreynolds8030 Well that doesn't sound necessary cuz a subject will be instant independent but it's actually a good idea cuz AI won't waste warscore in peace deals to make subjects nor it will release ones
Nice video! I was very surprised by Venice, I guess you just can't keep a good doge down. Thought for later, how about a video where everyone gets the Deus Vult idea in 1444. Church picnics will be a lot more exciting!
Nice to see the natives acualy being somewhat historical now getting pushed out of the east coast but consolidating on the Great plains for a bit but inevitably getting taken over
From what i read on eu4 wiki, there can only be 8 lucky nations, but the list of historical lucky nations is longer. So that why some nations should be lucky butcarent at the start( Poland for example). If the lucky nation dies the next one from the list gets the modifier. And yes Prussia have restriction that to be be lucky it needs to be after year 1700. Castile/spain have restriction too that can be lucky only before 1700. There were others but i forgor.
I have an idea: EU4 but you can't accept any cultures, even those within your culture group. Also, EU4 but there are no forts (i.e., existing ones are deleted and you can't build any).
I would love, among with more de-buffs i would like if u give moar nations that always be on top like Venice, Poland Denmark... So more minors get on top, i love a game where some German minors and Baylek or indian small gets OP
According to Wiki: In a default "historical" setting, the following nations have Luck modifier if they are not player controlled, exist at chosen date, and have the corresponding secondary requirement. "Castile (before year 1700 and Spain does not exist) / Spain (before year 1700 and Castile does not exist) Ottomans (before year 1700) Muscovy (if Russia does not exist) / Russia England (if Great Britain does not exist) / Great Britain France Austria Prussia (after year 1700) Netherlands Portugal (before year 1700) Jianzhou (if neither Manchu nor Qing exist)/ Manchu (if Qing doesn't exist)/ Qing Brandenburg Sweden (before year 1700) Poland (If Commonwealth does not exist) / Commonwealth (before year 1700) The first eight nations from the top of the list will get priority on acquiring the Luck modifier, therefore, at the beginning of 1444, the lucky nations are (unless you pick one of them): Castile, Ottomans, Muscovy, England, France, Austria, Portugal, and Jianzhou. Brandenburg will be lucky if any of the aforementioned countries are player-controlled." So it is very rare to Poland/Commonwealth to be a lucky nation (at least three other lucky nations must die before 1700). But the winner for me is Jianzhou/Manchu/Qing because they usually do very poorly while being lucky, while here they become Great Power as unlucky. :P
I think you should sometimes mention the alliances between nations, for example in this video England wasn't attacking Scotland most likely because they were allied with someone strong, or was guaranteed by France.
Runback would be cool, would be worth considering removing luck nations all together but I think just adding crippling modifiers would be better for retention and fun to watch
Idea: Revolutionary countries get a +1000 relations modifier with eachother and permanent alliance. Would only affect the late game, so not sure how fun it'd be for a full run from 1444? Maybe start later, in like 1700?
I don't know how feasible this is, but how about a game where every ruler has all effects from personality traits at the same time all the time? Not the personalities itself, though that would also be interesting, just the effects the AI gets from different ruler traits, such as naive enthusiasts being more willing to give gifts for example.
For that next video maybe not make it a death sentence, but just make expansion things worse like gov cap and morale or something, just up the unrest a little, stuff like that
Can you make lucky nations dynamic, for example if a nation has less than 300 dev it's lucky, from 300 till 700 no modifier, from 700 and more unlucky. And luck/unluck is scaled according to dev, Cyprus with 18 dev will have higher luck than teutons with 90 and so on, so that if the dev is higher than 2k-3k it'll have many debuffs
Now there's something that should be in vanilla EU4 from the start! Some balance and death to immortal refusing to die every game ever alway the exact same annoying majors!
Interesting. Mamluks actually lost some land in india to Vijay and also in Anatolia to Byz. They had more land in both areas than they have at the end. They tend to replace the ottomans if they have the chanse, but they are not so expansionist. I personaly prefere to fight with ottoblob in late game rather than a big mamluks becouse ottomans don't have the best pips in late game and they get to have paper troops, but mamluks kinda allways have prety strong armies. I find it easier to fight ottomans late game let's say.
I've never liked facecams in anything outside of horror games, I find it distracting. It's not a very strong opinion, definitely not a dealbreaker and I'm fine with it if it's what others like. Just want my thoughts to be heard is all. You have a very nice face :)
An Idea for a timeline - switching all technology groups The best - becomes the worst So for example - western technology group become south American and otherwise 🙌🏻 Eastern - north American Anatolian - Andean Muslim - mesopotamian Indian - normadic Chinese - polonesian East African - aboriginal West Africa - central Africa 😞 As an idea

@Chewbert Well ok ig calling it a missed opportunity is a bit unfitting and I apologize for it. But I 100% remember reading that suggestion in your previous video. So combining them would just feel natural imo
Qing with luck: doesn't appear ever
Unlucky Qing: somehow a great power
Was probably another 3 province Minor in the area taking advantage of the unlucky nation than snowballing
struggle truly invoke's the best of ourselves
It's due to the fact that it's simply hystorically accurate
This one was awesome, definitely interested in rounds 2 with worse malices
(maluses)
Correct plural would be mali.
Similar to boni.
You should do a video where whoever’s on the great powers list has really bad effects, essentially representing large empires having problems and collapsing
Chewbert: lets make all the lucky nations unlucky and give them negative stats
Russia: nothing has changed I feel the same

An idea: Give a scaled malus for every province owned. Should kill big nations to make it interesting

I have an Idea of every releasable nation in every starting major power is released (and France loses its vassals, etc)

Actually surprised with Denmark on 1st Great power, like even if you think about it, it doesn't look like they have that much dev

Europe and Asia swapped would be interesting, for example the hre in Japan and a shogunate in Germany etc.
Now we must see Lucky Nations but doubled.
"Kilwa in isolation" They owned half of south east asia they were probably the number two naval power lol
EU IV but with HCmode (winner takes all) mod. 1% ducat peace deal = full integrate
Great Video and great Idea for the next one
How about each negative modifier becomes positive and each positive becomes negative? ( like corruption is nice and ideas actually give debuffs)
This was a super interesting video. Would love to see more
Maybe something like this except specifically for Great Powers?
It would be interesting to see every national idea made negative, so countries with better ideas take larger penalties
How about a reverse lucky nations, where everyone gets the buff besides the nation the are supposed to normally.
