EU4 but Aggressive Expansion is PERMANENT

- In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4) video we will be removing the timed decay of Agressive Expansion, meaning that unless land is lost in a coalition war, AE will be permanent and coalitions will be abundant, especially for the more aggressive nations

#EU4
i sure wonder who is that at 0:29
The legend themselves!
bro said no homo
Idea: Every ruler has the Bold trait, but it's tweaked so they underestimate enemy strength even more than normal. Everyone getting constantly into fights they were not prepared for.
I want this
this sounds fun
Sounds great but I could also Imagine someone big Just streamroling.
I predict Ottomans and France absolutely demolishing the early game
Every empire collapses once they exist for five minutes
france going down the historically accurate path in this one
Alternate title: EU4 but everyone has a great book of grudges
MARK THIS DAY IN THE BOOK!
So real life global politics
Ah, the classic test of history. How many coalitions can France survive?
at least 7 and "I didn't hear no bell" - Napoleon probably
This is basically "EU4 but if the AI got as much AE as the player".
They do unless you play on higher difficulties.
That joke about Asperger absolutely killed me lmao
I don’t get it I have no social awareness
Idea: Shattered Universalis, 10x mod, and cursed universalis all active at the same time. That means a million tiny nations, each with different religions and cultures, all with 10x modifiers. Have no idea if it works, but if it does, the chaos that will insure will be EXTREMELY entertaining.
Sorry but 10X only works with vanilla map. Your idea requires new one mode made especially for this circumstances
PC will die
Tall nations: “My time has come…”
“ERAMOS CONQUISTADORES Y MIERDA” - Mexico when they conquered Portugal
maybe add a mod where culture convertions cost nothing and see what the Ai does
So, you’re telling me that France got multiple coalitions and winning the first ones, than joined an anti-catholic league, despite being catholic and ended up revolutionary superpower?
Was the IA seton “Napoleon”?😂
Here’s some ideas I’ve had:
If you have a national disaster it never goes away, so if you have a civil war it can never be ended.
Terrain and trade goods give 10x modifiers, so hills give +10 dice roll to defender, cloth and farmlands give -50% dev cost, glaciar gives +500% dev cost ect.
You give some huge bonuses to the weakest national every ten years, sorta like the one you did with making one country on each continent tech 30 except it’s over time.
I’d love to see a video where each trade node is a nation
There is a video on it already made by RedHawk, just search it up
19:06 Bro had to defeat his intrusive thoughts 💀
I've seen France dominate in pretty much every game in this patch. The big blue blob returns!
aggressive expansion
Aggresive expansion
Aggressive expasion
EU4 but great powers get a random disaster every 10 years
Eu 4 but everybody forgot how to build ships
Actually having AE go down much slower would make the game quite more realistic, I may play a campaing like that
AE going down slower forces you into one of two paths. Either expanding very slowly and constantly improving relations or going on a complete rampage and truce juggle your way until that culture group doesnt exist anymore to form a coalition.
The former is just playing tall and the latter can be done by taking 15 provinces in one peace deal (or 2 if you try to conquer northern Italy)
@@jako3015 I think If a nation goes on a rampage and grows huge, A LOT of nations would band together to survive as it happened in history. In game, you wait 10-20 years and they forget what happened lol
@@MrZuhahaha I think that should be a thing with the dawn of the age of absolutism. Late game could be much more interesting and the AI can manage that as proven by the video
@@jako3015or you can focus on diplomatic means much more. Since allying peoples and vassalize / annexing your vassals doesn't give any AE.
@@TheCatVtuber
reasons to accept vassalage:
"[a 9 dev desert nation name] economic base compared to [nr 1 GP and economic hegemon country name] -83"
Video Idea: Chewy's nightmare, EVERYONE is a migrating native
EU4 but seperatism never decays or gets reduced by ideas.
After watching Zlewikk's recent Switzerlake run, I have to admit to being intrigued by merc ideas.
I remember the first time I had an Asperger ruler.
I'm a little ashamed of how much I laughed.
Yeah dude the merc militarization is a super cool mechanics!
And yeah lmao it caught me off guard
Day 8 of asking for every tag in 1444 in EU4 to be in the HRE
if he dosen't reply or anything i don't see the point of forcing
I’ll reply so this wet blanket will mind his business
New Idea groups are great, Infrastructure ideas are by far the best Idea set now. I haven't tried running court ideas. Merc ideas are only missing one thing, a way to increase militarization passively (prussian mechanic passive revoke estate privileges) Espionage continues to get better every patch. Aristocratic is also crazy strong. Armies seem to be much more equal in fighting ability than ever.
EU4 but everyone is max tech in 1444
EU4 but austria and ming swap places (or the HRE and china, if you're willing to go that far)
Napoleon laughing maniacally
Eu4 but ae is the Opposit so where you should lose ea you get some and in the other way
(Idea)
i actually think this would've been a video where keeping the natives might've been interesting, since all that ai colonisers would be racking up would SURELY lead to something in the new world as well?
How did this affect development? I would imagine having all these released countries might spread things around a bit.
22:00 "Insert jokes about the left coast"
Eu4 but Dogger Bank never disappeared
I really want to mess with map mods
Love this one, frankly it seems better than base eu4, looks so much more historically accurate*.
man i just wish the ai would colonise asia, at all.
Idea: everyone has every other country as a rival
I remember there was an early version of this game where AE went down super slowly and truces didn't take people out of the coalition. I don't remember which build exactly but it didn't last long. Certainly pre conquest of paradise
Obi-Wan Kenobi to AE, probably: You were supposed to only be a number! Not actually harm anyone!
Idea:every country is a revolutionary republic then what AI does with borders is crazy
If you were to attack a tiny coalition you could 100% them and force them to accept taking land only you have cores on, thus giving them a coalition and getting your land back. In most places it's not very easy to pull off, especially early game, But for big singular cultures it's very strong (so it's not very good in Germany/Italy but I imagine Ottomans and England could probably do really well for it)
Defo an interesting idea tho could be fun to try it in a campaign
I'm fairly certain it's just losing land loses AE, it's just a bigger effect in a coalition war.
EU4 but AE doesn't tick down it ticks up
Ok new idea, EU4 but peace gains you aggressive expansion instead of war (like maybe every year at peace you gain 1 AE)
Eu4 everyone who fights becomes historical Rival
Video 20 (?) of asking: Can you make a video where every dynasty is a country? So a country getting a regency or something like will get auto-inherited even if they are non-christian or republics.
It could actually be cool if you could get up to like 20 permanent AE not enough for coalitions but enough for countries to remember
ottoman became turkey, albania being the chad, based somalia, 24:33 sigma chewy controversial moment, cursed spanish brazil, based french canada, based mexico, portugal became alberto barbosa, cursed portuguese america and based caribbean
Spanish left coast San Franciscan:
"Did YoU JuSt AsSuME My GeNdEr?!?!?!!!!"
I don't know how I didn't get reccommended this, this is such a cool concept
Based video. Strong France, Armenians, Albanians and Byzantines taking back their lands...
Video Suggestion: EU4 but each culture group start as a PU
For the start of the game:
• All provinces of each culture is given to a separate nation. (Priority is given to the nation that best represents that culture.)
• Each nation is given cores to all their provinces. (Not required, but encouraged)
• Each nation in each culture group is put into a personal union under the nation/culture in the group with the most development.
There might of course be other variations of this idea, perhaps with some mechanics tweeked and/or added, but this what I could think of right now.
23:46 - Shu does a Northern Han
I just want to see a commentary over an ai only mega campaign or a normal mega campaign
I will 100% do that eventually. Just need to set a sub goal :D
I'm quite fond of court ideas (when AE isn't a major problem), it's the humanist of the diplo tree. I want to like infra however it suffers in the same way Inno does; picking admin first is suboptimal but that's when it has the biggest impact
My favorite change to the idea groups is the reduced naval attrition in the exploration ideas in idea 1. Way easier to explore further earlier on without your ships being lost due to attrition.
13:12 JESUS LOOK AT THAT FRENCH COMEBACK!?! 16:30 Ajuranaustralia. 19:15 Ottomans explode. 20:20 Eastern Europe is a mess in this game.
eu4 but every trade good Is its own nation
Eu4 but aggressive expansion is flipped (now you need ae to not get coalitioned)
Napoleon came a little early lol
3:30 as an Albanian from Kosovo, I declare this.. Blessed.
13:50 knowing IRL France, this makes sense. 🥐
I laughed at your Asperger-joke. However I must say that your Discord now doesn't sound like a fun place at all anymore 😅
come and find out
Have you seen the "The Odd Empires" mod? it changes the tectonics of the earth and some althistory. it might be an interesting video.
Definitely, but it's not going to be updated to 1.35 for a while and I have no interest in rolling back for any specific mods
The one I’ve been waiting for
Oh nice been waiting for this one!
Infra is by far the best of the new three, you can even put it on the top 4 admin ideas (Inno, Religious, Administrative, and now Infra). You should try using Infra ideas to stack expand administration cost (there is one gov reform that also gives -100% Expand administration cost
Well I guess a video where there is no AE is also an option now. Massive blobbing posibilities.
EU4 but all nations start picking the same national idea (you could make a lot of videos with this. maybe start with innovative?)
Every one is an emperor (give every nation HRI emperor bonus) . Live out grate powers.
EU4 but when you conquer a province you acquire it
You should do an EU4 game but taking provinces isn't possible. You can only get more territory from vassalizing or PUing nations and annexing them. You can make countries release nations and then attack and vassalize them, but no nation can conquer new provinces.
Rise like a phoenix / Out of the ashes / Seeking rather than vengeance / Retribution / You were warned / Once I'm transformed / Once I'm reborn
EU4 but Castille, Portugal, France and England can't colonize!
Idea: Delete all orignal provinces when all provinces have been colonized. would be even better if cycle could keep repeating a thousand years
AE IS just a number after ive conquered all of the world
19:06 it's even worse since the anniversary of Armenian Genocide was not that long ago
16:46
Shun, Xi, and UwU
My favorite change would be the rework of plutocratic ideas.
My least favorite is splitting economic into infrastructure. Now you have to spend 2 idea groups if you want the dev cost bonus and the inflation bonus with the old policies. Also they didn’t add any flavor text for any of the new policies.
Eu4 but every X amount of years the weakest nation in the world gets all Monuments in their capital.
Idea EU4 but every 20 years PUs get integrated
What if everyones forcelimit is 1
Qotd: Mercenary ideas are awesome. Court ideas are not as bad as it seems and it has some insane policies. Dunno about infrastructure
didnt even mention france owning denmark and norway
eu4 but everyone have the same dynasty
Eu4 but every culture is in the same culture group
EU4 but every region is a shogunate
Lore of EU4 but Aggressive Expansion is PERMANENT momentum 100
Idea: EU4 but national ideas are shuffled in between all nations (like Austrian IA growth being in national idea of Ming)
22:49
Subnautica Below Zero?
EU4 but religions of Europe and Asia are swappred
Idea: EU4 but every nation is shuffled (would be interesting with their national ideas and religions and such, includes releasable and formable nations)
QOD: infrastructure
You should do this game mode again but make it to where one actual person is in the game, i.e, like France or a smaller nation is player controlled, expect you don’t tell us what country it is and we have to guess.
funny how coptic still exists
OH MY GOD, MY EYES HUUUUUUUUUURT
permanent AE? nothing unusual every normal mid-late game when all your neighbours have 300+
Eu4 but there are no rulers of nations
Eu 4 but everyone can conquer without casus belli.
Everyone as Historical rivals, or if thats not doable everyone -200 relations
That’s an idea 👀
@@Chewbert ❤️
There is no way France is winning so many coalitions without Napoleon being king
Napoleon Bonaparte is the reason France is winning so many coalitions
you need to know the scary number of coalitions France face during his history, like 5 in the 1500's, 3 in the 1600's, 2 in the 1700's before Napoleon
Eu4 decadence for all empires
What about a game with all mission modifiers and rewards made permanent AND all missions marked as completed in 1444?
