How To Get BIGGER LEGS (4 INTENSE EXERCISES!)
Вставка

- Need a leg workout to put on some serious MASS? Let's get after it!
Sets/Reps:
Split Squat - 4 Sets / 15 Reps Each
Stiff Legs - 4 Sets / 30, 30, 20, 20
Hip Thrusts - 4 Sets / 20
Front Squat SS Walking Lunges - 3 Sets / 15 Reps on Squat + 20 Steps per side
Today was about getting back to basics and doing all of the hardest exercises you can possible do. Some of the big take aways is that even if you don't have a ton of weight to use, you can still enhance any lift by slowing it down, holding the stretch and changing how you contract the muscle.
Let me know what video you want next and get growing!

You’re the real hero
I hate hip thrusts.
@@dcbull87 why?
I fucking love this dude...I've been working out for a couple years getting in shape, fasting, etc. Until I started watching him, I wasn't seeing the real GROWTH I wanted, i was getting some definition, now in just a couple months the results are undeniable, I've had comments made about how I've grown. If this is your first video of his, or early on, go back, watch as many as you can, of all the "Big Names" in workouts on UA-cam, it wasn't until this that I saw the kind of rapid change I was looking for. That being said I missed half the video and I"'m going back to watch.
I completely agree, his techniques to really destroy your muscles are undeniable. It sucks gyms just shut down again in Toronto though 😭
Humiston is such a good source of information that I download every one of his videos as I watch them.
Ryan defo knows how to train.
100% TRUE. I'm getting big results as well on just focusing on going lighter, slower, and thinking about the lift and not just lifting the weight.
@Strasznik what?
The wife won't be asking where I am tomorrow....ill be exactly where she left me. Unable to walk, hopefully not still crying 🤣
🤣😅😭
😂😂😂😂😂 only sweating from the eyes
OMG...... Still crying.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@rosstihh2220 the wife actually cried laughing so hard when she saw it lol
@@mesidye exactly lmao
Probably my favorite fitness channel. Straight to the point, no bullshit for 5 minutes. Short videos, and a sense of humor.
If they ever bring Seinfeld back you would be perfect on there as a personal trainer with your sense of humor… Your lifting advise is great and your delivery of material even better! Looking forward to leg day tomorrow!
Totally agree. Dry humor and self deprecation is rare in fitness guys. And he doesn't overdo it. Definitely becoming a new fan
As a finisher I did the front squat and lunge combo...three sets. I took took a 15 min power nap before going up the basement stairs.
😂😂😂
LMAO
Never watched this man before today. Binged all his content in an hour because all the videos are so concise. Just as I'm about done he drops a new one.
Are you still lifting
“Like 225 is gonna feel heavy”
That’s when you know you’re not quite there yet...
LOL....was thinking the same!
I think he says ,,two 25's" as in 2 of 25 plates
@@sabouandrei6520 no he said 225
I guarantee you can hit 225 on hip thrusters
He said so slow that 225 is gonna feel heavy. So. Pay attention
Been a fan for a while! While I love the specific exercise tips... My biggest takeaway (like literally, I hear your voice during my workouts) is that I'm leaving a ton on the table if I'm not burning out that muscle and focusing on that mind muscle connection... Never rang true until I started watching your videos. Keep up the great content!!
I absolutely f**King love this guy and can't wait to try this one in the gym. Keep doing what you do Ryan
Ugh! Changed my life with your deadlifts...no wonder I keep feeling it in my lower back and not just in my hamstrings and glutes. Thank you again Ryan!
I really enjoyed the pace of the videos. He speaks quickly which is fine, can always rewatch. Keeping them under ten minutes is awesome.
never focused that much on time under the tention and the power of constant tention. I always locked out. But hey, your training method is golden. Keeping on to this.
Best leg day in years. Sore, but in the best way - right in the muscles and not in the joint spaces or lower back. Thanks for this! You got a sub
"I'm gonna go so disgustingly slow so that 225 feels heavy."
Sure Ryan, sure...
Your videos on muscle training have made the difference in that before I went to the gym to "workout". Now I go to the gym to work out with "purpose". Before I hit the gym to work a body part, I hit your vids and take a few of those movements to incorporate into the routine. Time under tension, squeezing the muscle and holding it a few seconds, positive/negative movement done slowly really make the weight feel heavier because the muscles are working all the time and not just on the "push or pull" alone. Thanks a lot Ryan.
I watch a looot of fitness videos on UA-cam, you are by far the realest man ! Great content bro 👏🏽
Best fitness channel on UA-cam!
Thanks for all the great content 👍
I watch a lot of folks, I like to try new workouts, I find myself trying more of Ryan's, in my opinion, the way he explains, is easier to understand and I think I get more results
Just wanted to thank you for making these videos Ryan. Short, sweet, to the point with no bs.
I’m happy I found this. I laughed, unexpectedly and loudly, the entire time. Talk about a hidden gem.
Where has this guy been all my workout life? Humor delivered deadpan with excellent workouts!!!
Subscribed.
Only person I have ever seen to perform squats correctly 💯💪🏾
Love working out and looking at this fantastic specimen while I do it. Wonderfully and beautifully made.
haha and hes got a lot of great advice to go along with it
Thank u for keeping your videos short and to the point
New favourite fitness channel 👌👌👌
Awesome Ryan..us UK lifters are loving your compact spot on sessions. 👍🏿👌🏿
I purchased Versa Grips two weeks ago at the suggestion of Renaissance Periodization to replace standard wrist straps and used them for the first time last week. I was aiming for a 300lb deadlift PR that day and they made gripping the bar so easy and solid! Made the PR that day!
I love how dry he is like a psychopath but tries to joke around like he isnt lmao its so funny
🧢 he is funny
Ooooo
Ok
Like Dexter
Who are those even liking this comment, I literally checked his channel out because of his sense of humour and now I am stucked😅
@@festusakano He complements his sense of humor in the comment. Who are you people that can't read?
Good clear, intense workout. Gonna try these out for sure.
More of these simple intense workouts for each body part would be great. Love your vids.
Thank you for everything Ryan, can you perhaps make a video about weekly working out schedule? I would be really grateful. For example Monday is for legs, Thursday is for arms etc.
Just finished this brutal azz workout...you evil bastard...loved it
I absolutely love your videos- can you design a workout guide for us to buy? It’s hard to remember all of your exercises
Love this guys style
This guy is awesome and hilarious! Subscribed.
My leg days are going to go infinitely harder after this video....... This is the first vid I’ve seen of yours and I can tell you right now I’ve soaked everything up like a sponge, screenshots and all. I can tell by your video you’re on a level of your own compared to other fitness youtubers or trainers in general. I’ve been training for almost a year now and I thought I knew how to train legs. After this video my legs don’t know what’s coming for them.
I’m mad I barely found this video, even more mad about how I’m barely finding out about your channel. 🤬 Now I wish I could train with you at least once before I die so I know what a real workout feels like!
I workout 6x a week. I'm pretty damn athletic and definitely above average fitness-wise. This workout Kicked. My. Ass.
I appreciate your advice. I believe if u struggle to walk up stairs and down u had a Great leg day. Power in the Legs. Thank you.
Stop reading the comments. Class is in session.
lmfao
Yes sir
Like the backing tracks used in this one. 🤘
Never clicked faster on a video. Subscribed for life! 💪🏻
Love watching you leg workouts.
I also now been doing your 100 rep squats and had massive improvement.
I am 6.7 and always struggled with leg's but watching this was game change.
Looks like you’re moving into your own gym! Congrats bud hope it’s going well and keep up the great content.
Very loyal and short videos. Love him .
Great video and information! Never seen your vids before but after watching this video I subscribed! Can you make a video on how to train your calves good? I made a home gym and I dont have a calve machine. I have dumbbels, squatrack, a barbell and a bench!
Thanks for the short videos.... 😊
Great hamstrings! My favourite muscle!
Can u do a video on leg exercises for people with knee problems and injuries
Wow I'm feeling the 🔥 after giving these a try! Thanks for the awesome content!
The only channel I've hit the notification bell.
Ryan please do a leg workout for those of us with knee pain issues... thanks!
Hi Rayn all the way from India. I tried your workouts amazing.. wanna back some weight I definitely joining one of ur programs .. thanks you are my new super hero....ps. jus if anyone can tip me where is the programes
Just saw your VMO video from 2019 and you've put on some serious mass man.
Been using mechanical advantages to continue sets after failure. Maybe a series on this subject. I've been using them a lot on back day by using more biceps after failure.
Hey big guy, thanks as always for these videos
Love the content Ryan!!! Could you do “No Gear” program or workouts?
Gonnnna say all these movements still apply to all the no gear folks, and I know thats not the answer people like to hear but its the truth
1:20 " ....our next horrible idea..." I'm still dead from the first idea jejejeje. Great content as always!!
Love the Ryan vocab words
I go to some country gym and I can say with certainty that 98.7% of the people don't do leg day, unless its friday and they feel adventurous. Normally I dont care what people do, but i've heard them talk amongst themselves how that guy (me) does legs to much, he needs to hit arms, and how squatting isnt important. As always great content! 💯
Love the edits.
Nice THANKS for the great tips!
I love your leg tips!!
YES!! More barbell workouts and tips please.
This ones definitely a good one
It's really simple. He has his physique for a reason. Applied dedication. He's fully committed, controlled and technical. You need to approach failure and keep form in order to maximize gains
Awesome thanks Ryan
Awesome video. Curious, do you have a trap exercise vid? I get the impression you might not be a total fan of the trap. 😃👍
Good video. Why doesn’t anyone ever have a leg routine for people who have had a knee injury?
Perfect timing, I was thinking my leg day was to weak axx.
This was an amazingly fucked up work out. Subscribed and program purchased. I’ve been at a plateau after newbie gains. This setup roved two things: I can push harder, and I’m still a baby lifter. Thanks!
Lifting heavy doesn't build muscle like lightweight, high rep high volume. It took me YEARS to figure that out. I have gotten the best results of my life focusing on mind muscle and the weight is irrelevant. If you are lifting intensely and not sitting around, challenging yourself with different set parameters, you will change. Period.
Can't express how true this is. It also had taken me years to figure this one out. Saw changes weekly after
Okay, but, post warm up, is it not better to lift heavy to bring to fragmentation/exhaustion faster and finish with high reps and less weight? Are you not achieving the same thing with less time? Help me out.
I have to say that changes from person to person, I only got the best results when I stopped training high volume and went for heavy weight and low reps, like 3 to 5, even 1 some times. Now a days I periodize between powerlifting and Bodybuilding style of training, but heavy weight s really have it's place
Real talk. Now I see these young cats try to do heavy shit with fuck up form. I do my lift focus on mind muscle control and squeeze.
@@FitLabb Good video, man. Thx. Sub'd.
You are hilarious dude 😂. Love this channel!
I would like to say thank you, it sucked horrible, I added the 300 squat warm up from your other video then did this. Fml, hardest workout I have done. Oh and the gym a$$holes have squat stuff upstairs.
I apologize because I never comment on these (like he asks). I’ve used several of your videos and they are extremely effective. I appreciate all the sweet hilarious one liners. I plan to co-sign and utilize several of them 🤔😂.
I freaken bust up laughing HYSTERICALLY every time I watch one of your videos!!
I know I am female but who cares. I love these videos and exercises!
Thanks for finally!!! Putting in reps and sets in description. Now I'm not looking like a dumbest watching video after every exercise
Bulgarian split squat most favorite movement of all time but with dumbells
You’re great at this, you’re on the rise
“Mongo sized water bottle”
That had me crying 😂👍🏻
That waiter bottle is over $100 bucks lol. You need a mongo wallet for that sheeiit
Thank you Ryan you have inspired me to literally get off my ass and exercise. I’m at the point in my life where my workout is mandatory. I’m starting now!!
This is great stuff!
Awesome legs workout 🦵 💪
This is so disgustingly motivating, I LOVE IT
I have a reoccurring groin injury. My doc said take it easy. So my question to you is " what can I do to strengthen my legs and groin ?
Finishing w that lunge combo for leg day tomorrow. 🙌🏻
Rest. In. Pieces
Leg day today, pushing thru this workout....dang!
I just tried this leg day workout. My legs are on fire, I’m walking like a baby deer and getting out of a chair is a daunting prospect. 10/10 would recommend
I think my eyes just gained a couple pounds. Thanks for another grindful video. Your stuff makes me laugh in a way that builds intercostals. Thanks for posting again. Now I need a lie down.
I love you men !!!!
"what does that even look like ... this is what that looks like" LMAOOO
"Alright, next horrible idea..." 😂
Lmfao 🤣
Love the straight forward videos. The jokes are glorious!
Yo Ryan, love the vids, any options for growth on legs, as I have had 6 knee surgeries where it's bone on bone in the right knee and no lateral meniscus.
Hey Ryan, I love your videos on legs. I've actually been using them to rehab the atrophy in my right leg following several months of bedrest and a knee surgery. I was wondering if I could get your advice on how to train legs with limitations? For example, since I just had knee surgery, I literally can't bend my knee on a machine like a leg press or a leg extension with much more than 10lbs. Do you have any advice for someone looking to rebuild their quads, hamstrings and hip flexors but who is starting from ground zero? I just retaught myself to walk a few months ago.
Thanks for the love brother,
Barry
Please bro, get qualified help/ checked out. I wish I had a degree so I could point you in the right direction but before a bunch of gym bro’s reply to you,
Get a qualified physio and personal trainer to do assessments on you and point you into the right direction. Once your in the clear, start looking at these videos.
@@mostunique5941 I get it. I've already spoken to many physios. I'm just looking for supplemental advice.
Great stuff! Thx ryan
Straight beast mode
Hey bro was good supplements for weight loss...im dieting and working out daily but no luck
Do you have any works tips for legs and back with a rupture l5 disk. Some things I can't do or if I try my back goes out and I'm shifted for 3 weeks. Keep up the good work.
Damn that sounds super rough, would be interested in how people such as yourself should handle an injury like this
Hi Ryan can you talk about bloating stomach, and what really causes? Thanks 🙏🏽
Doing leg movements slowly makes it 10x as hard.
