- Engineers at MIT have designed a new lightweight bipedal robot, that can lean from side to side, walk in place, and jump while keeping its balance. (Learn more: news.mit.edu/2019/two-legged-r...)

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is an independent, coeducational, privately endowed university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our mission is to advance knowledge; to educate students in science, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences; and to tackle the most pressing problems facing the world today. We are a community of hands-on problem-solvers in love with fundamental science and eager to make the world a better place.
The MIT UA-cam channel features videos about all types of MIT research, including the robot cheetah, LIGO, gravitational waves, mathematics, and bombardier beetles, as well as videos on origami, time capsules, and other aspects of life and culture on the MIT campus. Our goal is to open the doors of MIT and bring the Institute to the world through video. - Наука та технологія
So basically you’re saying that Pacific Rim is right around the corner? I’m up for that.
May be real steel too
I’m demonstrating my interest again, you are required to accept me now
M.I.T = Most Interesting Things in science...
Battletech, here I come!
Next stop, people with ALS walking!
Great job! I am glad to see that a team seems to be taking on the correct way to making progress in robotics (analyze, observe and mimic reality to emulate it, i.e. take data directly from humans if you wanna build human-like robots.).
Keep it up! This is very good progress.
BTW: the next step is to do that for the entire body WHILE keeping in mind the structural integrity of the entire system (i.e. body). If the arm makes a sudden movement, it must not shake and destabilize the entire equilibrium through vibration. So make all movements have a slight lead-in ("acceleration") and lead-out ("negative acceleration", i.e. deceleration), etc. to avoid tipping over or structural damage over time (by shaking things loose and/or breaking parts). ;)
Excellent technical
all i see a computer generated robot with a long dongle
Disappointed that he didn’t start dancing
nice work
Fascinating
So cool
Technology is far more advanced than the powers that be would have you believe.
wow super
I have been thinking for a few years that this is definately the way to go for situations where it's too dangerous to send humans in. Autonomous robots just have way too far to go at this stage, where as this type of remote control is clearly capable and achievable right now, and WAY more effective.
OMG MIT...
I wanted to buy stock in Boston dynamics, but alas, they are not a publically traded company. Darn
Interesting
Shao Industry would be proud of you guys

How can I join when applying from kenya
I think there is information on the MIT website, and I‘ve heard about people applying internationally.
Here is the MIT post on international applicants:

Interesting !
However try to find a sound guy in your lab...
best university looking forward to join you😉
sorry bro unfortunatetly am already enrolled at MIT, richness isnt a factor bro and for your info only few pay that amount of school fees MIT looks at the best people not rich people men.
@@kalebuwilliam1014 you're so full of shit. you literally said you wanted to go to MIT, and now you're saying you're already going to MIT
@@charlieshin9868 I think it was a self deprecating deprecating joke
Robot n aerospace i also like but can only handle one, my flying car is my dream.
Cool and stuff, no take away that support coming out from the robot's back... Yeah i fought so.
It's a developing technology. Relax. it'll get there eventually. Be patient.
Can it twerk? Like Ricardo Milos. I mean, I cannot be the only one thinking that, right? Like, the pelvic trust is probably one of the most complex and essential moves of the human anatomy, it shift or body weight in such a manner that can be used in a varied range of motions, if you can master those free floating ass movements like Ricardo does, what will even be able to stop you?
What the fuck were you on 😂
why are the knees bent?
I guess its for stability
For equilibrium. Falling over is bad.
so the design of human legs is not efficient
@@juniordilon ??? Why would you think that? The design of legs with knees adapt to all sorts of terrain and situations, unlike wheels, for example. And sometimes, a straight line might seem more efficient, but on the field it proves to be dysfunctional. So no, I don't believe that knees are bad.
Try walking around and doing your chores for 2-3 days without bending your knees. (Edutainment is cool!)
stop the particle accelerator
it harms originator souls
Hellooooo

You need also Manipulate the data
Little jumpies.
We wish you to develop a cosmic background radiation detector
To discover the gravitational waves predicted by the theory of cosmic inflation and superstring theory
Please send suggestions to the engineering and technology team
The light capture devices closest to the edge of the universe must be developed
