Kampfkunst Karate: Toptalent Shirley Jay

Jugend-Europameisterin, zweifache Deutsche Meisterin und achtfache Landesmeisterin in Folge. Shirley Jay ist seit neun Jahren im Karate aktiv und erfolgreicher denn je. Ursprünglich begann sie mit dem Sport zum Zweck der Selbstverteidigung. Heute - mit einer guten Portion Selbstvertrauen und Selbstdisziplin - macht die 16-Jährige Kata, eine Form, bei der man allein auf der Matte steht und einen Kampf gegen eine*n imaginären Gegner*in hat. Ihre Ziele sind die Weltmeisterschaft und der Wunsch, dass Karate bis 2026 olympisch wird.
