Isn't it amazing that this tiny creature has made such a huge impact in the hearts and minds of people all over the world? She never lifted a finger to become famous, yet there will be dozens of us who will never forget her. The loss of Reddy's first grandchild is absolutely heartbreaking. I think Riy was probably hit by a car while blindly running after Dimpy during a tantrum. We can only hope that it happened so fast she never knew what hit her. We can only pray that Dimpy has a calmer baby this year. She deserves to have a happy outcome.
I was sick to learn that Riy is gone. I never could imagine that something terrible would happen to Dimpy's baby. It's just so sad......Poor Riy and poor Dimpy.
There are just some individuals, human and animal, who are so high strung that living with them is exhausting. We can medicate humans but monkeys can’t. Eventually I think troop members would have forced Riy to leave, unable to tolerate her any longer.
You really did an amazing job with the great short story of a one of a kind baby, Riy. My heart was sinking through the story because I feared her fate was similar to the Little Boy who could not cope. You have to wonder if Riy's life was not on that track. But then I remember when you got the call that a baby was seen at the side of the road. It does not seem fair to Dimpy either. She too truly went through the best and worst of times in those 5 or so months. Thank you for sharing. Since I refuse to watch any tv anymore, I look at this as a gift.
Thank you. Riy was my favourite 2023 baby. She was so feisty and determined. I'm sorry we didn't get to watch her grow up. I hope Dimpy has a girl this year, but a little more sedate.
Riy was definitely a ball of fire which made watching her grow so adorable she brought such joy when tuning in to her weekly antics ! She will have a wonderful place in my heart ❤️ and I will think of her every time a baby acts like her , she will be missed… oh it was like yesterday that Dimpy was born too !
Awww Riy. I’ll always remember that little bundle of energy. She was so fiesty and stubborn I honestly worried something bad would happen to her. So very sad. Thank you AM.
I have this memory that i have held dear of Taggy taking care of Dimpy when she was young. I am pretty sure Taggy still had his tracking collar. Such great memories ❤😊
Beautiful little Riy! The little baby with the ginger colored fur. Thank you AM for sharing this celebration of her young and too short life. She was one of my favorite baby monkeys. I hope and pray there’s a heaven for these beautiful creatures. I shed quite a few tears for her.
Thanks AM for this lovely tribute. 💕💕💕 She was a feisty lil one, probably confused as to why she was always in trouble, poor dear. A few other things came to mind- the sadness and longing in Bolly’s eyes was heartbreaking; interesting that Dimpy kept the habit to walk bipedally clutching a baby; and I hope the mad tattooist doesn’t get hold of Deenly- I bet she’ll make a great Mum (even though she’ll still be sucking her thumb 🤣).
She found the tallest of all trees and climbed up , she found a place with loads of food, games, and she can run as long as hard as she wants, with no fear of cars or anything else , she even meet up with some others from the hill, she will be back , but once she's had the best time ever , it didn't hurt it just happened to find the best tree in the Forrest, when I miss my mom and the rest I will climb back down again, don't forget me she said, I will be back but with a different name, wuv you all, x
Gosh! Dimpy was a long time ago! I spent most days during quarantine watching & rewatching those sweet videos! I fell in love with Monkey Hill & all the troupes! Greetings fans & Uncle AM from Lake Oconee, GA, USA!
What a cutie Riy was, that cute little face! I don't know how you managed to not give her a cuddle. Thanks so much for her celebration of life, had to be difficult for you to do
Arroz, I just can’t believe we are watching our babies have babies and how magical that is to see but then to have something devastating happen to one of them just breaks my heart. As much as I know it hurts me it has to hurt you terribly and I am so sorry that you have to go through this part, thank goodness for the new babies or we would never get through the bad times.
@am that was very well done sir. It captured the spirited and stubborn baby at the heart of so much chatter. This episode reflects a baby that had indeed changed character in her short life. I grew weary of the never ending commotion Riy stirred and hoped exposure was limited in favor of other babies Dipidy, Grady, Bubble, Alex and Jerry. Looking back, I do see the similarities to a child with ADD/ADHD (my son) and how difficult that can be. I almost feel guilty as I would never wish a baby harmed, but I did wish she’d grow out of some of the dramatic overreaction. I did wonder why we did not see Dimpy carrying around her body as we often do others. I’m still not sure what she was doing in that clip, or why she chose that moment to move on without her, but it’s good to see Dimpy had her mourning period. I hope her next baby is much easier on her as a still young mother. Thanks for the outstanding production, it’s some of your best work. Have you considered making a documentary observing the entire life cycle of a MH Rhesus with the people who visit, the video content producers, the feeders, the sterilization teams, and the rituals these monkeys go through? I think it’d be very appropriate, allow you to share a well built wealth of knowledge and most importantly, share our hairy little friends with the world. The Travel Channel, Discovery, Nat Geo, or even a streaming service could easily choose something that hasn’t been over covered like sharks, snakes, spiders, or bats. They’re a must see for tourists visiting HK and a phenomenon of UA-cam content. If you make it big as a documentarian, I’d only ask for a nice autograph and thanks for the idea! Be well friends and Mr’s Dear Viewers.
I'm glad her mom held her tight at the end. Arroz my condolences as I sit here with tears in my eyes you must feel it worse than all of us put together. God bless you dear friend. We love you @arroz❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have ADHD and as soon as I heard that it's become known for dogs to have it as well, I thought that it makes sense for monkeys to have it as well. A common symptom that I and others experience, Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria, seems to be what little Riy was experiencing as well. It is a strong emotional reaction to being rejected or perceiving rejection. I will do anything to avoid feeling or being rejected, because of my combined childhood trauma and the ADHD. I experience loss or rejection as abandonment and revert to child-like behavior or I shut down completely. It feels like I am alone in the world, my security is gone, and if the relationship isn't repaired then I spiral downward into depression and it may take years to overcome the loss. It is different for others; some experience a small panic attack and then are able to move through it, and others find a way to compartmentalize the loss and move around it. How one is raised will affect how RSD affects them. In this case with Riy, you can see that before the weening she was secure, confident and independent, because she had the bond with her mom and she had built trust with her and the babysitter. After the start of weening, she appeared unsure, clingy and weary of others. She interpreted the weening as rejection, therefore breaking the bond with her mother and signaling that she was now alone in the world. It would have taken longer for her to trust again, which put her in a vulnerable state. This is why we see the tantrums, because they revert to previous behavior, even if they were confident before, because they think if they act young they will get treated young and get the milk and the bond with mom back. Very interesting.
Little Riy charmed us with her antics, but also had a prolonged weaning tantrum big time. RIP, little ginger girl, you were one-of-a-kind, resilient, and first in everything you did. Find peace playing in Monkey Heaven. Heartbreaking! 💔 AM , many thanks for this touching eulogy. Those damn cars can kill monkeys, and her ADHD-like condition didn't help either. A brief five months was her life, a pity we never got to see her grow up and have babies of her own. 😢😭❤❤❤❣️❣️❣️
RIP Riy… Can’t assume Riy had a mental disorder of some kind. It’s miracle she didn’t get killed by an Alpha male due to her constant crying (protect the troop from predators particularly at night).. Sympathies to the Reddy family.
Mr.Arozz I remember my first experience of your eulogy when you remembered kilay , forgive misspelling of name, you bring so much ❤️ respect and compassion to these primates, you are marvelous person and we thank you so much and thanks for this one on Ryi❤
Dimpy was inexperienced and young but a great mom nonetheless. It's been recorded that macaque moms grieve long after the baby has died and go through both trauma and depression (Bossy being a notable example when Bossy Jr passed, she was very melancholic and overprotective of her next couple of babies). I hope Dimpy is able to recover at her own pace.
I just started watching all of Mr A.M on here, glad I ran into his videos. But it makes me sad/cry when I see the outcome of some of his videos of these babies. It breaks my heart.💔😢💔😢💔😢
Such a shame that such a beautiful little one, with so much potential had such a short time here! AM, she really wanted to get to know you, and that little monkey in your camera, but she was afraid Mom wouldn't like that. She kept looking back to see if mom was going to scold her.
I bet it's so hard not to be able to just pick them up and give them a soft cuddle and back rub.😢 She definitely had some sort of mental health issues that compared to ADHD. Poor baby girl 😢 I will miss her and pray she's found peace. She definitely has some extraordinary company with some very muched loved and missed sweet babies 🥰🥺🥹🐵🐒🐵🐒🐵🐒🐵🐒🐵🐒❤❤❤❤❤❤
Started to watch but gave up within the first two minutes. Riy was one of a kind. 😢 I’m certain this is a lovely tribute, Mr AM. Too soon for me; maybe in a few months I’ll come back and try again. 🐵🐒
I'm glad it was swift. Unfortunately it was to be expected bc of her temperament. She dashed about into everything but only for a second. She took for granted as all do of the time she had before weaning. She had never been turned away one time by dimpy. Dimpy actually chased after her trying to get some momma time but even as a little infant she squirmed and wiggled out of moms arms. One example I will use of weaning that you don't see is mm saying no and riy flew to a tree went up it and back down it and back to try for a nipple again in about 5 seconds. Monkeys have high energy and use many calories climbing and jumping but she would have had to have double. She was twice as active. It's muscle unlike any other animal that climbs they don't have Claes. They have nails like us so even at birth they are extremely atrong. Point being she used up as much as 2 babies from an early age. She was used to Mims milk to give her that energy. Foraging was boring to her. She didn't stay still enough to even taste wild foods. It was milk and feeding that she relied on. This is what brings me to the conclusion that she was prob chasing mom having a tantrum when she didn't see the car. Most will stop and listen or look to see cars coming by because they know which will be feeders. Even if not a tantrum, she didn't ever stop to look and listen so she was doomed on a busy road. Rip Riy the baby who was extreme from birth
It’s interesting, as a newborn Riy didn’t seem as drawn to the milk bar as she was when older. I don’t remember ever seeing her in a milk come like the other littles.
I had made a comment about my being afraid of this little little girl being so vocal she would end up like Scooby. She did end up like Scooby, only we know what happened to her. My heart is breaking either way😢💔
@sonyabilledo4303 you are correct on that point. Little Scooby made tooooo much noise, but Ryi was vocal, too, just in another way. They both were killed one way or another. We all get invested in their lives. They become family member of sorts. We have to let nature take its course, and we have to grieve over their losses and move on.
Ohhh! How much fun, joy, & happiness a tree brings a monkey. Young & Old! My heart rejoices every single time I see a newborn begging to climb up into the trees & explore & enjoy the climbing & swinging & jumping from branch to branch!!!!! 🤩🤩🥳🥳🥳🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😁😁😁😁😁😁🤣🤣🙂🙂🙂
23:00 around that time frame, so cute!!!! Riy's Mom was so quick!!! She was all energy & exploration!!!! I am so happy that you are sharing their lives with all of us. I fall in love with them all for one reason or another. They become a natural part of my everyday life. Just as you do, too!!! It's always heartbreaking when we lose one especially so young. I loved Riy little strong willed self but I think AM was spot on with something going wrong in her life ADHD austium doesn't show up in humans until they are a couple of months old Riy could just not cope with life Dimpy being a first time mom it must have been tiresome and frustrating at times but she was always a very caring mom just like her mom if IAM not wrong didn't Riy climb up on AM and his camera at one time when she was younger I hope Dimpy has another baby and we could name it ReRe after Riy thanks for this wonderful video I know you were attached to Riy and her funny demanding ways 🐒🐒
Beautiful little girl. So sad . Gone too soon. Very smart. Ireally didn't see alot if issues maybe because i have a son who is actistic. Riy was always clise to her mom. When they were on the street she was close to her mom . Just wondering. How it happened. Rest little one. You re with all the other little angels. So sad when we lose one of these precious ones. Thank you Mr Arroz for another special video
MrAM, I know this has to be such a difficult video for you to make. That you did make it shows how much your care for these cousins of ours. It is doubly sad because it is obvious that Reddy and her family are so special to you. I hope this does not offend. Sometimes we miss things for those that mean so much to us. Maybe Riy's such early accomplishments were actually symptoms of what you mentioned as a possible form of ADHD? There are other behavior issues in Reddy's family. Starting with Dopey's slow development and Deenly's thumb sucking. Riy's boldness was an inability to sit still. I imagine Dimpy was at her wits end with the over active, almost hyper 1st child. When it came time for weaning, while Dimpy did let Riy grudgingly nurse, many times Dimpy allowed some nursing but there was no .. embracing of young Riy. Riy was already going through probably one of the hardest times in her short life. I think Riy needed reassurance and Dimpy was just totally exhausted. I have nothing to support this theory regarding Riy's death. I imagine with her ADHD, weaning, stress and feeling ...abandoned, I think it might be possible that she just had a breakdown and in a stressed mental mindset was not mindful of her surroundings. Tragically she might have bolted into the road. I have nothing to support this thought just a gut feeling. Again AM my thoughts and prayers for your own personal loss. .
Hey, so I liked your story on this baby. But you were saying they said she might of had ADHD. That doesn't kill people or monkey. They are 94% us, just like us. Dogs and cats and other animals can have the same diseases as us. Especially monkeys are more supseptiable to all diseases we have or get. But watching the end where you were slow playing she is walking up to the rock wall, If you watch her back leg on the right side was showing signs, of a neurologically issue effecting from her her left brain. So she could have a tumor and with her agitation spells, she could have had a seizure. It could have kicked off what ever was going on. She laying on the ground as if what ever she is seeing, she not seeing right. If they had autopsy her, I believe they would have found a tumor.
This one was tough... I didn't realize that the last half of her short life was so difficult for Riy. Poor little thing was so feisty at first, then miserable towards the end. And Dimpy... poor little lady had a rough time with her first...
@@kendee_ here are 4, English speaking. The last one is Animal, Food & Car Dashcam Vlog. IMHO, I suspect there are other Hong Kong Chinese speaking Monkey Hill Channels.
Something definitely snapped in her little head. My friends children didn't show signs until a few months old, which probably be equivalent to Riy's age in macaques.
This ginger girl is soo cute..really sad. Babies should never ever should go through death, abuse or lack or love…really sad how this world has come to this…Tigers, lions, snakes eat blood carnivorous..monkeys are plant and vegetarians..they are not a threat ..we must catagories as them has sensative animals..they are sooo intelligent and smart..perhaps scientist decided to label monkeys wild because they were doing sooo much experiments on them and monkeys decided to defend themselves. I am getting old and I question many governments policies. Look how beautiful they are..family oriented animals…sooo sad they have to be dealing with humans invading their space in the Forrest..
You know, Riy was verbal. I often wonder if she was so verbal because she was independent. Per research, baby macaques will make constant verbal sounds just to keep in touch with their mothers when out and about. Riy did take this to another level. Scooby's hooted, which is something totally different. Riy hooted when she was in trouble, like when Hatty kidnapped her.
Isn't it amazing that this tiny creature has made such a huge impact in the hearts and minds of people all over the world? She never lifted a finger to become famous, yet there will be dozens of us who will never forget her. The loss of Reddy's first grandchild is absolutely heartbreaking.

Started to watch but gave up within the first two minutes. Riy was one of a kind. 😢 I’m certain this is a lovely tribute, Mr AM. Too soon for me; maybe in a few months I’ll come back and try again. 🐵🐒
A.M.that was beautiful!
She was too interested in the world around her, and making new friends! My baby girl always had bigger "fish to fry" than to eat her dinner 🙂
I just can't... this is too recent. Sorry @arroz I'll watch later.

An adorable little ginger snap. Gone too soon.
I had made a comment about my being afraid of this little little girl being so vocal she would end up like Scooby. She did end up like Scooby, only we know what happened to her. My heart is breaking either way😢💔
Scooby Hooted whereas Riy cooed. Big difference.
Oh poor little Riy. 😢
I have never enjoyed watching a baby go through weening. It’s painful for baby and Mom alike.
Can you find out more of the lil blind baby boy? Tabby was his mom I believe but his mom kept checking his vision.
Thank you Arroz ❣️❣️❣️❣️
Love your channel. Excellent video ❤❤❤❤

Riy🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰Sweet Girl.
AM one of your best videos, RIP Riy...❤❤❤❤
Beautiful little girl. So sad . Gone too soon. Very smart. Ireally didn't see alot if issues maybe because i have a son who is actistic. Riy was always clise to her mom. When they were on the street she was close to her mom . Just wondering. How it happened. Rest little one. You re with all the other little angels. So sad when we lose one of these precious ones. Thank you Mr Arroz for another special video
Late watching. Saw what it was about and how long, ugh, not ready for tear jerker.
Beautuful AM! Thank U! 🥹🥹🥹
Anyone who has been through a adhd baby did not find ir funny. I felt bad for both of them. Especially Riy.
Susie, I wonder how many of us picked up on her crying, clinging and tantrums were uncontrollable by the baby. I did not.
Right, God bless you Riy.....
Again AM my thoughts and prayers for your own personal loss.
.
Was Riy weaned too soon? What trauma did she endure with her first babysitter?
Hey, so I liked your story on this baby. But you were saying they said she might of had ADHD. That doesn't kill people or monkey. They are 94% us, just like us. Dogs and cats and other animals can have the same diseases as us. Especially monkeys are more supseptiable to all diseases we have or get.
But watching the end where you were slow playing she is walking up to the rock wall,
If you watch her back leg on the right side was showing signs, of a neurologically issue effecting from her her left brain. So she could have a tumor and with her agitation spells, she could have had a seizure. It could have kicked off what ever was going on. She laying on the ground as if what ever she is seeing, she not seeing right.
If they had autopsy her, I believe they would have found a tumor.
Awe I remember those days when Dimpy was born, a lot of our friendships were blooming ❤
AM u tell beautiful and show and shared beautiful loving stories !!
They sure were @jen.
Love 💗
This one was tough... I didn't realize that the last half of her short life was so difficult for Riy. Poor little thing was so feisty at first, then miserable towards the end. And Dimpy... poor little lady had a rough time with her first...
Thank you AM for this sad, but wonderful story about Riy. Was it an road kill or a fatal fall?
If was a car hit. I think her bloodied body was seen on the road by one of the other Monkey Hill Filmers.
@@vg7735how many other monkey hill channels are there? I only know AM, MC, and JW
@@kendee_there are only the three
@@retamckeehan4935there are others who make "shorts" and not full-length videos
@@kendee_ here are 4, English speaking. The last one is Animal, Food & Car Dashcam Vlog. IMHO, I suspect there are other Hong Kong Chinese speaking Monkey Hill Channels.
😢❤❤💫we all miss her
I can ONLY PRAY that Ryi went to Heaven Quickly n no Pain....Dimpy is a Good MuM...Hopefully she will BLESS US this Year.....
A M please keep us posted about Dimpy and how she is doing. Hope she does have a happy outcome finally.
Hello to my monkey Hill family!
Hi @charles
Hello
What a ADORABLE face 😍 😢
Sad gotta give it her being first time Mom, dimpy did good
Something definitely snapped in her little head. My friends children didn't show signs until a few months old, which probably be equivalent to Riy's age in macaques.
Rest in peace, sweet baby
Good 👍 evening ❤ everyone 🌹
Hiya.
Hello! Don't you just hate losing these little ones?
@@retamckeehan4935 so very much. And I haven’t been watching and know the history as well as others. It’s hard but I feel it’s respectful to watch.
Oh no what happened 2 her??? Let me guess hit by a car???😢😢😢. ❤kimtigger143!!!
You do realize that that is a christian song that is a christian hymn, one of my favorites hems in the whole wide world
Poor lil pumpkin 😢
Arroz, why didn’t you title this “The girl that couldn’t cope?” She’s no different than Scooby
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😮😮😮😮😮😮
I was thinking the same thing...so much like Scooby.
