Wins don’t matter
It doesn't to show the pitcher's ability because it depends so much on other stuff. He would have 20 plus wins if he was an Astro. That's why it is so impressive for an Angel pitcher to have 15 wins. There was a long period the Angels won only when Ohtani pitched.

lol.. in 1920 Babe Ruth out Homered all of MLB except the Phillies, iow the Phillies were the only team to hit more HRs than babe Ruth in 1920.. ps he had a career ERA of 2.28 and gave up oinly 10 HRs in 1220 inning over a 10 yr span as a pitcher... in REALTY Ohtani cant carry Ruth jock.. no comparisons! alohaha

For the amazing year he gifted us in 2021, he bested it in 2022! And Shohei Ohtani got zero hardware. I know he doesn't do it for the awards, but he needed to be recognized. MLB will readily upload his videos and highlights for clicks though.

Shohei performed even better in 2022 season than his last ALMVP season while making many unbelievable new historical MLB and baseball records. Yet Shohei couldn't receive 2022 ALMVP because MLB had NO adequate and fair evaluating system for valuation of a super elite baseball player in both pitching and batting. The present system could only divide Shohei Ohtani into two people for valuation and excluded the additional value of a single player doing both pitching and batting outstandingly. Especially Shohei's double duties of facing more than 600 pitchers and more than 600 batters were not getting any additional points from WAR or any another evaluating systems. Instead points are deducted from Shohei as a DH while not adding points for Shohei as a starting pitcher, it's obviously totally unfair for the only true two-way Shohei under present valuating system until one day when new official two-way player evaluating system is being setup! Furthermore, the old Fashioned MLB people loving great HR numbers far far better than super elite pitching performance that led to the total underrating of Shohei's 2022 seasonal performance for personal impressions of making judgement on MVP values (besides the outcomes of teams whether entering playoffs actually unfairly affected the MVP results) !
