Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (what a mouthful...) just isn't doing it for me. How come a remake of one of my favourite games ever is generating pretty meh hype levels? The problem is the Resident Evil 4 Remake! Ever since I played the RE4 the thought of a "faithful" remaking improving graphics and not much else just isn't doing it for me...

I really hope capcom continues to make remakes like they did with RE4. There were things I didn't like much on the OG RE4 that were improved in the remake.
RE2 remake is my favourite resident evil, but I kinda wished that they did it like RE4 and not cut much.

As much as some people bang on about remakes not being needed - starting a project again with the benefit of 20 years of hindsight can produce some really satisfying refinements like we saw that in RE4. The island chapter went from behind kinda meh to a really great final area. I love MGS3 but I don't believe you can't improve it massively, it's a game that's scope was constrained by tech a remake should be making the most of it

I understand your ideas and thoughts, as i totally agree with you. Also for you being someone who enjoys innovation and creativity like me, this is a missed opportunity. The pressure Konami are under is immense due to events after Kojima leaving and i think there is no way they want to upset the cult fans. If they get it right, it will give them a chance to create new content.

I hope you're right. As much as it might not be what I personally want maybe it's best for the franchise and will lead to new games down the road when the fans and Konami have more confidence

Couldn't agree more. It's cool too see games we grew up on with modern graphics, they could do so much more than just a polish job. Honestly think we should make these devs earn our money with new stories and stop buying these remakes

I absolutely would have been happier with a Capcom style approach to the Snake Eater remake but given how beloved it is and it's status as the fan favorite of the series I can understand why they wouldn't have wanted to.

While I understand where you're coming from. I do have to disagree with your point of view here. While the classic MGS3 game had limitations due to the hardware of its time. There is a lot of people that prefer a 1 to 1 remake than a Reimagining. While it would be nice to see new stuff like cut-content make it to the game and such. I do believe that Konami is trying to gain some confidence with the old MGS Fanbase before doing anything drastic.
The RE4 Remake was a full on reimagination of the original title. Very good and very faithful. But certainly with its issues.
I do agree with you that maybe some changes like a bigger map would benefit the game, but I think a lot of people are looking for a similar experience from the original, with better graphics and controls.

Do you think Delta is going to replace the original as your method of replacing the MGS3 story when you get the itch a few years post release? That's the issue for me - with other games I want to play the OG, tiny differences bother me (and I'm not a mahartstyle! guy I swear). If you see it replacing the OG I get it, otherwise it's just a novelty, for myself at least.
The whole problem for me with a 121 remake is it doesn't give me any confidence in the team to make a new metal gear which ultimately is what we need eventually. I want to see some moxy, some ambition - I want a team that can carry Metal Gear on without Kojima

@@UglySofaGaming Hello! I'm sorry for my late reply. I don't think that Delta will replace the Original Game at all. The old one has this muddy PS2 Look with dated controls that I love personally and its important to preserve that history.
The Graphics is not enough for me to get it day one (To be honest, I am on the same boat as you are in waiting for a sale), I do find it interesting that Delta is trying its best to keep the old game mechanics from the old PS2 Games. Maybe I'm just biased about Delta, wanting to play like the Old games and show it to newcomers that started gaming a decade ago that we played games like this. I did say previously that I do understand your point of view, mostly because some ideas that were cut from the original, albeit technical limitations or time constrains can help extend the game. Hell, I'd love Metal Gear Online to be included and the Ape Escape Content. But beggars can't be choosers.
The Current MG Team needs to garner confidence with its consumer base. I'm pretty sure they'd like to build that foundation first as Kojima is no longer at the helm of this franchise anymore. Since Konami burnt two bridges with one Pro-Gamer move, and needs to rebuild it from scratch. I myself am very cautious about what this new Team will provide in the future. I do think starting with the best game in the series is weird, instead of starting with MGS1 or the MSX MG games. But I do want to think that they're doing all of this to get our trust and Konami's full confidence as well . Maybe I'm too optimistic and too stupid for being this faithful. But, I really don't want Metal Gear to be shelved for the best of a decade and perhaps evolve to something else. Yeah, Kojima is gone and as much as I want him back to direct another MGS game when he was tired of making them since MGS2 or earlier. I do find the Stealth Genre (The Pure Stealth Genre, none of this tact-on stealth BS) to be lacking in today's games.
Thank you for reading this and I'll await for your reply and thank you for keeping it civil. On the site, note. Even though I do not comment, I do watch your videos. Keep working on them!

@ShinkuAura Always civil on this channel I hope thanks very much for watching and joining in the discussion that should be the fun bit 👍
There's no denying this strategy worked wonders for the Crash Bandicoot games. If one day in the distant future it leads to more Metal Gear games it was the right call 👍
