- In this video, I break down Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis' rookie year film, where he flashed some incredible ability in a pretty weak offense. He's a volatile player that still needs development, but what he showed as a rookie has me very confident that he can develop into a great quarterback, especially with the new weapons that the Titans have given him.

I see Josh Allen. I remember Allen in the playoffs as a young player and some of the decisions he made were some real head scratchers. But thats what happens to all of us when we learning something new. I think Will Levis will be a great QB in this league
I think #1 is not taking the unnecessary hits. I love his potential, but he WILL NOT finish a full season doing that. I think Callahan will coach that out of him though. Kid has huge talent.
Totally agree. Listen to Callahan on Bussin with the Boys from this past week. He was very adamant that that will change

With Ridley and Boyd joining this offseason, Levis will have to learn not key on his 1st read and force throws into tight coverage. There were definitely times last year when Burks was open on crossers and deep balls, but he would still lock on and force it to D-Hop.
In his 2nd year, hopefully, Will develops his post snap processing and learns how to better attack defenses and recognise man vs zone tendencies while reducing his turnover worthy plays as that could be his downfall.
Having Boyd and Burks, Chig and Whyle working the intermediate routes and Spears and Pollard with checkdowns should also help his completion percentage against more favourable matchups.
Definitely looking forward to seeing more 3WR sets and a modern NFL offense under Callahan in Tennessee this year #TitanUp

Why? His ball tracking, and ability to stay healthy suck. And his hands are meh, tho that may be because he can't track the ball well.
It doesn't matter if no1 covers him if he trips when he is looking up for the ball and hits his head knocking hik out for a bitter half dozen gsm

@@A_Name_ I partly agree with you specially based on season 2 being a bust but Burks has a chance to start from scratch, without the expectations to replace AJ Brown with an Offensive minded coach with a good track record and has real coordinators around him. Some players needs more polish than others out of college and Vrabel was not in the business to develop such players, he only dealt well with players requiring minimal polish. Only in Titans nation we would hear that we could trade him for a mid to late round pick when no fan base ever inquired about him so there is no trade to explore. Might as well find out this season
aka being his last chance really to show he can be a capable receiver. If he can do that, then we talk him being a rotation WR (#3 or #4) and we go from there and see if he can improve more long term to be come a decent #2 receiver.
I think his main issue needs to be reading the defense better, it seems he’s pre determined on receivers too often, but I’m sure part of that is being tossed into the fire as a rookie and having a terrible oline. Having a full offseason as qb1, a better online, and receivers should help.
The reason his interception luck was so good was probably the same reason his reciever drop rate was so high, guys who can't catch cannot keep up with Levis' absolute bombs. Hopefully Ridely figured out his drops from last year since he's a good hands catcher.

I have some hope that the offensive system change will help with his decision making, considering how Mariota, Tannehill, Willis, and Levis all had similar trouble with overreliance on 1st read throws, inconsistency with progressions, holding on to the ball too long and taking avoidable sacks, and missing open receivers in zone coverage. I remember Tim Kelly clarifying that the deep ball to Burks, when Philips was open in the middle was Tim's idea, or the times when Tannehill clarified that when making certain crucial throws, he would make a presnap read, to see if his receiver is in one-on-one coverage, and just chuck it, regardless of how the coverage would look post-snap, so I feel like Vrabel liked to keep the passing game too simple for his quarterback's own good at times.
New coaching staff and never seen the Titans make such moves in an offseason i expect a struggling start for Will but he picks it up mid season
Dude no one talks about that Dhop throw from our own Endzone against Pitt at 6:50 that throw is when I was like oh holy shit this dude has it. That was better to me than any of the deep balls that was a laser

My take on Will Levis he is a very accurate passer. His four interceptions and multiple near interceptions were due to pressure from defenders blowing past our linemen. The other reason no reliable receivers not named DHop. I felt he thought DHop could come down with every pass thrown his way. With the addition of talented receivers and a more formidable offense he will be a far better quarterback.

Detroit Matthew Stafford feels like the absolute best case scenario
Something i noticed about Will Levis' turn over worthy plays is that a lot of the time the defender actually gets there hands on the ball, however the ball has so much heat on it and because so many DBs do not have the best hands (or else they would likely be playing on the offense) it ended up saving him from several interceptions.
Now this still isn't a good thing, as it still puts the ball at risk and brings questions about his overall decision making... BUT while he is learning, it does mitigate some of the risk that other lesser arm talent QBs would get caught out on.
Essentially he's lucky he's able to throw with such speed/strength and it will not be something he can rely on forever.
I like the fact that he's not in that same basic offense... You're gonna see a BIG Time QB now...
any elite Qc who would have played behind that OL and predictable offense would have similar stats that Levis had, forcing the ball and just rely on their natural talent...He's far from being a finished product but at least this upcoming season, he's surrounded with decent protection (the OL will look respectable with Bill Callahan Coaching) and much better weapons in a pass friendly offense
Levis had a fairly awful O line, didn’t read the blitz very well, and not enough playmakers. I think another year, getting Pollard, Ridley, and Boyd helps a lot, and Latham looks like a great pick to me.
The line was awful in pass protection...period. If the opponent did not have a dominant front 7, that was the only time the offence looked respectable, even if our offense was VERY predictable. Just having a cleaner pocket will help a lot and a offensive coach that can help him develop properly.
& yet it's _STILL_ several tiers above what Fields had to deal with. I'll link videos that prove this if asked, but it's so frustrating. How do people see bad o-line play for EVERY QB _except_ the one who has The Worst of it?

@@jackripper5270 No, I don't think so. Specifically, check out the play at 22.45 of ua-cam.com/video/FiiK21VzI_o/v-deo.html. Then watch the entire 1st 23 minutes. You don't have to _count_ how many times you see defenders allowed straight through to fields. You only have to notice that there *are defenders* allowed straight through to Fields. I have never seen more than 2 such plays in any full game for any other team before a player gets replaced. Those 23 minutes are half of one game.
Even when I watch videos about assessing draft busts at those positions the players get their hands on the defenders. Not the Bears. There's footage of Fields leaning right over & talking to his o-linesman, points right to the unblocked defender. The player nods in agreement & then the ball is snapped & they run the other way.
You can see Fields gesture & ask "Wtf?" But the player doesn't answer.
One of the other channels I'm subscribed to joked about how Sam Mustipher's '22 highlight reel is just a series of still shots of him facing backwards arms at an angle suggesting he's begging Fields for forgiveness.
Here's the thing: how is Not One Person On The Bears seeing this. No one's benched, reprimanded or even ever taken out of any games?
I don't think PFF has a way _of_ grading these which is *WHY* they're not last. But hey, if you have footage of the Titans doing this too I'll apologize.
The thing is I _know_ no other team does this half as much. The only team that could *_possibly_** get away with it* would be the Cardinals. Anyone not Fields or Kyler Murray isn't scrambling away from this pressure all day.
We're not talking about Great Plays by defenders we're not talking about Occasional Missed Assignments. We have video footage of the Bears' o-linemen running away from or completely ignoring pass-rushers. Regularly.
Now imagine being on a team whose o-line does this to you regularly & never apologizes? & whose coaching staff never addresses it even after you call it out publicly, twice? If Bellichick had never responded about Mac Jones seeking help outside the Pats we'd know Bill was done with him, right? So Fields has known for over a year that his Own Coaches are sabotaging him.

I *_know_* other teams aren't seeing this kind of play because only Fields, Murray & _maybe_ Mahomes & Lamar could *survive* it. But in the 1st 23 minutes of this video we see multiple examples of this.
I don't know why Fields attracts so much hate but even when the Bears were the #1 defense 3 weeks in a row in '22 people just said "this proves he can't win." The Bears lost all 3 of those games. When I point out none of the faults he "has" on the Bears existed in college they all say "any QB would have done well with that roster in college." I point out that none of that great roster is doing well in the NFL so this makes no sense, it's the fault of those other teams. He can't win.
But there is *no **_way_* other teams are seeing that level of o-line play. I think that PFF simply doesn't grade blocks that the o-line doesn't attempt.
Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, especially Dan Marino, who tf *_can_*_ succeed_ with having the defense get to them in under one second around 35-40% of the snaps? This _is_ a typical game for the Bears. In another video I forgot to copy & past to myself he leans over the C, points to an unblocked pass-rusher & the C nods. Then the ball is snapped & like the play here at 22:45 the C runs in the other direction.
The Titans didn't have _that._ *No other team did.*

Defenders probably didn't intercept Levis because of the velocity he throws with.
He has better arm talent is better than all of those guys u named at the end. At his best he probably Favre. He truly reminds me of Josh Allen

I think the sky is the limit with Will Levis? I realize he had some struggles (rookie) and he wasn't as good as Stroud in his rookie yr.... But i think Levis will have the better career? I know that sounds crazy...

Stroud sits in some really unique spots in those ranking breakdowns... top 2 in average depth but almost 20th in percentage of deep throws...

Love the breakdown, nailed it. If he can be a healthier version of Carson Wentz with better decision making, sky is the limit (I hope he stays away from Jay Cutler spectrum lol).
I trust Brian Callahan for the mental game aspect and help him to take more check down options (Pollard, Speaks or the TE) vs forcing the ball to WRs in tight coverage. A much better OL will definitely help...not as if Tannehill looked great behind that same line. We would not ask an elite QB to work miracles behind such line.
In the end, in a less predictable offense, he can be at least a top 15-20 QB. Best case scenario after his 1st real season is around the top 10.

I think there will be some growing pains in year 2 but I like what I see. He will make mistakes but I hope it's not the same one twice. He likes to throw the ball and with this coach & offense he will get the chance. All we can do is wait & see.

He's not staying that's his ceiling but that's how he compares, Jay cutler had one of the strongest arms in the league and Carson Wentz in terms of his scrambling and improvising ability
@@oomshaka6683 Yeah i guess but the hope is Levis is more than one or two qualities that lead to a career of mediocrity. Plenty of other QBs have incredible arms and other great attributes. From what i have seen Levis is extremely competitive and to me Jay cutler personified apathy and a lack of competitive spirit to the max. I do get the sense that James is more pessimistic at times with the Titans, perhaps in an attempt to temper expectations, or else its just his personality, I used to be like that. The data seems to show sack rate is more a qb problem than a team problem, as a players sack rate generally stays pretty consistent through their career. It's a Will Levis problem I think
The data can only tell you so much. Did you SEE our line last year? Also QBs like Brady or Manning nearly always had stellar O-lines
Sack rate is definitely something that reflects QB play at times, but in Levis' case last year...I mean did you watch the Titans at all? Put any QB of your choosing, past or present, and they're getting sacked 4-5 times a game MINIMUM
I'm guessing since his WR have as hard time catching those bullets, CB probably have it even worse. That's probably why they dropped so many.
