    Improved contact noise control/finger noise diminished.

    Thank you my friend! Great comparison between Rav generations! I'm so happy that Rav listened to you and all the Rav lovers wich enjoyed the first generation so much! Thank you for helping to make the Rav great... again ;)

      @@ReWildYourSoul Yeah, I'm super exited too! That's the step I was hoping for so long for Rav to take. I was dissapointed when they aborted the idea of the stainless Rav but now my enthusiasm is fully restored!

    Great video! The difference between the generations may seem very subtle to beginners but it is definitely notable when you own more than one generation and are playing on your own instruments. I appreciate you mentioning pros and cons of various generations :)

      Glad you found it useful and I agree! I am hoping that this presentation will help with perfection, as the opinions of a few directly affected the opinions people held about the last generation. Even though most had never tried any other than that generation!
      Definitely noticeable between them when tot have them next to you, far more subtle if you have never tried any others outside the gen you have.
      Thanks for the encouragement!

      Hi! can you tell me your sense of the differences? Is it other that that slap? 4th Gen seems to stand out more - the highs and the bass - the 5th gen seems mellower.
      Im wondering which gives the most sound with the lightest touch. I know 5th is where they are going but I seem to be drawn to the 4th gen

      @@1962ferdi hey there! I would say the new gen (blue magenta coating with smooth finish. Not painted) and the generations previous to the painted ones (last gen)
      In reality, those are all subtle differences, but wanted to share, based on the change of material and design!
      Hope that helps!

    It definitely sounds like a great balance between the old and new, which is always challenging to pull in any field. I'll look forward to getting one of the new ones in the F Astronaut once available. Always appreciate you sharing with us the more extensive qualities about RAV VAST. 🙏🏾👏🏾

    I love the new generation, I could feel the difference in play right away. I much prefer melody play but the new gen has helped me introduce a little bit more percussion in without it being over bearing 🙌🏼 a really great balance and so much fun

    • @ReWildYourSoul
      @ReWildYourSoul  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks brother! Each had their own usage and place. I think the primary change is that I feel a new player is more in control of the level of contact noise. This may be an advantage to those who feel their strikes are too slappy

    Much thanks for sharing! I've been curious how the new gen sounds compared to the others. Gotta say, I like all of em, as you said all have their uses.
    Maybe I'll even order one of the new gens now that they have free shipping currently.

    Quite the differences indeed! Informative too - I wasn't aware of the manufacturing changes beyond the coatings in the new ones. I did notice a bit of a high pitched ring on one of the notes on your signature scale (similar to the highest E Low Pygmy on the previous gen) - do you think that's a bracing issue as well? Or am I just nit picking :)

  • @ralfolo95
    @ralfolo95 9 місяців тому +1

    Your new Gen is golden, my end 2023 produced g pygmy has a blue/magenta color.
    I prefer the new feel much over the coated previous generation. But I found little less manufacturing quality as the glue of the rim is visible and also some notes have ruff cutting edges with visible material excess where there is no painting. So I am worried of rust at this places...

    • @ReWildYourSoul
      @ReWildYourSoul  9 місяців тому

      Yeah, I agree with you completely. I think the newer quality is quite the improvement over the previous generations. I wouldn’t worry too much about the rim. They’re now using a padding system underneath the brass that may appear to be glue underneath if you’re holding out of particular angle, but it’s a dampening system for contact noise, as for the under-rim areas, it may seem uncoded, but it does have a complete hydrophobic coating as well on top of the paint so I wouldn’t be too particular about it and they’re very good with customer service so I’m certain they would be willing to work with you if you’ve had a problem with it and just enjoy playing it and don’t worry!

    Wow, the newest generation sounds so much better than the previous one. I own the first generation G Minor Pentatonic. Now I understand, that I never wanted to buy a second one. I couldn't connect with them without knowing why.

    Nicely done … great playing and congrats on your new model !! It really looks awesome. As an owner of 5 of the 2nd gens- I love the systain and the percussiveness- but I am def curious to the warmth of the first and new gens - I can clearly hear the difference in your comparisons. Does it affect the mic positions at all ? I know your a huge b Celtic fan- but do you have the b rus? That or F Astro will probably be next…. Thanks and take care out there 🙏👊👊🙏

    • @ReWildYourSoul
      @ReWildYourSoul  10 місяців тому

      Hey my friend! I think I have oversold my love of the Celtic. Haha 😂
      For me the Kurd is superior, in terms of writing and variability.
      As for positions, the mic setup is the same, I am just not removing as much of the contact noise range as I normally would.
      Wayyyy easier for me to modify to my liking in post edit.
      B rus is a great scale, I would certainly advise this over the F astronaut, as this is just another iteration of a G Pygmy transposed down to F. Plus the octave note in the 1 position is a bit annoying, to me atleast!

    Hello Ricky, I was Wondering as a MastertheHandpan student : whould you make a masterclass (course) for this school ? I think It misses spécial courses for RavVast that could work pretty good but also your very style of playing handpan.
    French cheers !

    • @ReWildYourSoul
      @ReWildYourSoul  9 місяців тому

      Most definitely not for Master the Handpan, But would certainly work on one for my own platform. :) Master the Handpan is for Percussionists, while my focus is on creation of music, so not a platform I support all that much for growth and musical creation. A great idea for my own doing, however, thanks my friend!
