  • This video is of me going through the process of updating my Minn Kota Terrova, with the I Pilot App. This was my first attempt using the app, and I found the whole experience super easy. Also there is a handy little tip in this video.

Trent I just went thru pairing my terrova to my iphone and remote. The iphone was super easy but everybody (or nobody) stresses the proper sequence in button pushing on the remote. I had to push the pair button on the remote FIRST and then hit the pair button on the motor head... I must have done it as so many videos said to make sure you press and hold the motor button then the remote and no joy so you have to press the remote first and then when I pushed the motor pair button it was almost instantaneous I got the 3 or 4 beeps and voila easy peasy... Thanks

Great video Trent. I never knew there was an iPilot app for your phone, that is so cool.

It is great when your battery in the remote goes flat. As you can still use your electric, with your mobile. Just be careful if you use your phone. You don't want it to go into to the drink. 🤙👍

Good video, however I believe the Ipilot phone app does not have a stow and deploy feature so I believe you'll still need the remote for that. I'd hate to back the boat into the water, watch it float blissfully away and not have that remote. One good swim is enough for me! I'm not sure but I think the TM has to be on of course but also fully deployed. I can't deploy mine while on the trailer or it might get damaged on the trailer tongue. What kind of fish do you catch in "STRAILA"?

Cheers Dave stoked you liked the vid. Yeah 100% correct, the app does not have self deploy, and you would definitely not want to see your boat float away, that is for sure. It was more pointing out if your battery in the remote, or something went wrong with your remote, that you could still drive your electric. The main species that I target, are Murray Cod, you can see some on my channel. 👍

i have been in a spot where the remote, shut down on the water. had to link my phone on the fly and control for phone, did the updates on the water to sadly. by end of the day, the motor would only turn on and off, prop wise i mean. wont turn left or right... 2400 bucks down the drain.... no service for minkota in my area, and no shops seem to be accepting mail in service anymore.. sucks alot..

A dead battery will definitely not make it easy. Nothing like getting a boat👍

I have an Ulterra deployed automatically. So if I forget the remote at home I still have to drive back, as the App does not include deploy 😡

    • @TrentFreersFishing

Self deploy would be an awesome update for the app. If minn kota could do it
