Such a shame this song never got any vocals. This feels like the LP guys just saying “look back at everything we’ve made and accomplished” it just feels like a reflection song and sounds so emotional

Technically it does have vocals because this is a rework of “So Far Away” a Hybrid Theory demo from 1999. They tried many times to make that song work but I think this was their last attempt before they discarded it for good.
They used to write songs by doing the music first and then adding lyrics later, which is why they often change so drastically between versions of a song. A lot of the time they couldn't make a working vocal melody even though they liked the music so they ended up with tons of these instrumentals.
ye, when i heard that the meteora 20th anniversary album got released today, i got really excited because i wanted to hear specifically this song getting vocals.

Everyone is emotional. It’s human and you can’t help it. Anyone who says they don’t cry are just protecting themselves from the #1 emotion that they hate, embarrassment. But it’s okay to cry and there is no need to be embarrassed. It’s completely normal.
I’m 32 born in 1990 and I feel the exact same as you bud. Tears in my eyes. It’s like a lost memory that never existed. But hearing all these songs now, unreleased demos etc. I can’t even describe how I’m feeling. Such joy and sadness all at once. R.I.P Chester, you touched so many of our lives for the better ❤

This doesn't sound like a meteora song but a very cinematic piece.
In the last 10 years I cant think of a time where I felt the need to just stop and actively listen to a song. This one had me stop, close my eyes and just listen.

Imagine if LP released a 3D RPG adventure game, and while you play, during fights, walks and cutscenes, your hear all the demos fitting perfectly for each part of the game (this one couldbe perfect of the intro of the game), and in the end, especially in the credits part, you hear only Chester's voice singing.
They released a mobile game back in 2011 or 2012. I think it was called 8-bit revolution or something like that. I remember the reward after completing the game was getting to download their unreleased song “Blackbirds.” They didn’t have any other unreleased demo songs in the game but I think there were 8-bit versions of their album tracks
Dunno about you guys but I think we all need a tour so we can all meet up and sing along to the songs that literally saved us and kept us all going, come on lp let's go, we can all carry the massively missing voice of our Chester, we the supporters/ family will sing to the heavens. Massive stadium tour for a massive sing along 🤘

This song would be like a theme or nd expression in sound format as if to say "Look. Look at how far I've come." This isn't excatly what how the comment went but if you listen to it in the format of everything coming togther espcially with everyons song they've made and what they've gone through.

According to Mike Shinoda: "This song actually sounded too poppy, thus it was scrapped." However, it is indeed quite a catchy tune and uplifting as well.
