I Left Spotify for Amazon Music 😳

- I broke the norm and joined a music service other than Spotify 😳 I was able to find a deal that gave me 4 months free of Amazon Music Unlimited. That deal is now expired, but you can get 6 months free with a purchase of an echo device. Link below 👇

Amazon Music HD has much higher resolutions
I know! When I made this video, it wasn’t an option but I’m excited to try it out
@@arkoverload Oh yeah! I didn't look at the date. I'm a huge Amazon Music fan boy especially if you are a prime member already.
@arkoverload I used youtube premium because I get youtube music for free but I also used tidal and I love tidal I don't spotify or apple music but yes youtube premium because of youtube music but I am more tidal but I do used youtube music
You can switch back now, Amazon just went backwards to 2005 with their shitty business practices.
I'm out of the loop. What happened?
@@arkoverload What happened is that Amazon Prime Music which is included with Prime membership just became useless. Prime Music included a "limited" selection (2 million songs), but other than the limited selection, everything else worked. It was an incentive to buy a Prime membership even if you didn't order many physical items to be delivered. Now the "upgraded" (what a lie that is!) to their full catalog 100 million songs, but everything is shuffle mode, and you can't ask for a specific song. The whole experience was "lost in the shuffle". And if you ask for a specific artist, you will hear the same songs (it repeats from the beginning), so you never hear more than perhaps 200 unique songs. I cancelled prime, and I suggest the same to everyone else. Amazon Sucks!
Using Amazon Music since 3 years. Will never change it.
Great service. I just found out they have HD streaming as well!
They don't even let you keep music you've purchased if you don't pay for unlimited.
Amazon music is a complete rip-off!
@@kevelephant1311 wrong about that. You keep your purchased music and it shows up in the app. You use to be able to download your purchase music, now it stores in the app. I think you can keep the music for first purchase but if you want to download the same song again, it stays on the app only
@@arkoverload I am in the Amazon Universe already with Prime Video and loads of free music on the basic service so it is simple math to subscribe. It's a bundle deal.😆😆😆
Wish it was the same as the new update has taken 1 step forward with presentation but 10 steps back as you can’t even listen to your own playlist without having to pay for Amazon music unlimited.
Amazon does have an app now. I am trying Amazon and have been with Spotify for a long time. Thanks for your video.
Update on that. I have a Mac and just downloaded the actual amazon music unlimited hd app on my laptop. Just like Spotify. I have the amazon Echo and works great. I'm in the process of getting used to Amazon music too. So far so good. Audio quality on highest res seems the same to spotify.Music library also seems the same too. I have also recently been using UA-cam music because I have UA-cam premium.
Good to know! Where’d you find the app?
@@arkoverload if you launch the web player, a download option will pop out.
if you have Amazon prime its 7 dollars for Amazon hi fi and nothing beats that
And even if you purchase music you still can't listen to your purchased music unless you pay for unlimited.
What a rip off!
I'm a senior of 69 years old and for a lot of years UA-cam music was my choice and it was really cool for a lot of years then off and on it was Spotify but to be honest l got sick of both. Now l have prime video for years and lm trying prime music now and so far prime music is totally awesome!
It’s a fantastic service! Thank you for the comment and thanks for watching!
To be Honest UA-cam music has a bigger libraria than Tidal, Amazon, Spooky Fi, Quobuz and Deezerman. UA-cam has unique songs than are out of print and rare, but someone uploaded it who had the original album. UA-cam ads even those songs to the UA-cam music libraria.
I’m just commenting to say that I appreciate you sliding in a shot of Around the Fur in this video haha. But I’ve followed your channel long enough to not expect anything less
🤣
The sound quality is better than Spotify
I would not recommend anybody using this if you plan on purchasing any music.
Amazon can take away your purchase music Just because you don't pay for unlimited music.
You can't even access the stuff you paid good money for without being a part of their unlimited program which is a complete and total waste of money and a ripoff it should be illegal!!
Hmm, good to know. Thanks for letting me know!
So the issue with Spotify it is no longer voice activated, you have to buy a separate car audio device. (Always want you to pay extra) Amazon music uses alexa which is amazing. I'll be switch to Amazon music today for the simple fact I like being able to tell my music service what I want to listen to without typing it in. I want to be able to just say it with voice. My new car has alexa built in that's another reason for me to switch back to Amazon music unlimited.
I'm seriously thinking about an Amazon Prime membership. Had one years ago but they did me dirty on the shipping, long story. Now they have their own shipping service and they have just built a fulfillment center where I live. So I'm thinking their shipping will be better. Ordered a few items recently and was very pleased!
Been getting into streaming music lately, my wife tried a free trail of UA-cam Music and I wasn't too impressed. Signed up for a free trail with Spotify and really like it! However, if I get Amazon Prime, it comes with Amazon Music but I don't know how many accounts Amazon will let you have with Amazon music?
Yea since the update you now need a extra subscription to Amazon music
Amazon music is great but there are a few nagging issues. You can’t use Alexa voice when using car play. I love downloading music to my phone but the songs are in alphabetical order in car play and you can only get one letter at a time. The work around is to create a playlist with all your music.
Also, sometimes when they update the app, things don’t work and I have to download all my music again. Minor set back, not a big deal. Sometimes I get sick of and download different music anyway. It helps to have a phone with a lot of storage.
Apple Music seems to be very good value here at $120 a year. But I’m using tidal mostly now.
Tidal is the biggest rip off of them all
Make sure your computer/phone can play the high definition audio. Otherwise you are waiting your money. Amazon music always tells you. My I phone goes to a certain point but the only way to get all the hd. Is to use a fire stick.
Good video bro. I listen to jams like a serious addiction. I have youtube music premium family plan with my wife on it and my step daughter. I get my card charged 22 dollars every month automatically. I also have youtube premium with it. I have thought about switching to amazon because I am a prime member, but I personally also pay for worry free, stress free service. 22 dollars a month to be king of jams is manageable for me. So in some cases it comes down to what kind of setting you use the music in.
I have had Amazon HD since it was initiated: I am deeply pleased with the quality, and the volumes of available Music. However, I am frustrated by the dearth of quality streamers that play Amazon; it is also frustrating that the phone app does not communicate with my desktop program. Has anyone found a solution for this?
Since the free version upgrade, I hate it now the app keeps on pausing just stops playing. I constantly have to hit play again and again. This on Amazon devises.
What you can do is emulate Android and have access to the app - don't limit yourself when there are options. Can you share amazon/duo account?
Any recommendations, I often travel to places with limited or no internet so I need a subscription that will allow me to save my music in an mp3 player permanently.
I don’t know about permanently but many of the music services will allow you to listen to music offline. Spotify is a good place to start
Amazon Music DOES have an Desktop app
Right now is 3 months for free for unlimited after that its 7.99$ a month. I'm in there like swimwear. 😎
Nice!
Bizarrely I can' figure out how to purchase and download an mp3 so that I can play it in my DJ software. What am I missing?? How is this possibly so difficult? lol I used to use Google Play Music to download my mp3s, but that got shut down. Where, other than Apple Music, can I purchase mp3s that I can download???
The main important difference is the sound.
The lack of a desktop app means AMU isn't able to output bit for bit to dac's. I am moving from UA-cam music to get better sound quality. I need to be able to shuffle downloads offline. I will have to see how Android auto is with AMU.
on spotify you can't shuffle a playlist unless you pay for the premium, while on amazon music you can shuffle whether you pay for the premium version or not
Good to know! Thanks for sharing.
@@arkoverload i had amazon music without the premium for only a little bit and i think a lot of the songs in my playlist weren't available without it. not quite sure tho
Amazon does have a desktop App FYI
"Oxygen" by Powderr on Amazon Music| August 31
so is it just me or is amazon music extremely quiet? on evry device especially my car, i need to turn up atleast 4 notches above spotify/apple. apple is the loudest but amazon is the cleanest. please tell me i dont know what im doing.
I noticed that as well. I haven’t tried the Amazon music with HD yet, so I wonder if that makes a difference. To me, Tidal (which is what I’m using now) has the best overall quality
I'm fairly new to streaming. I've been using Spotify for about 6 months. I started a trial with Amazon Unlimited last night. I'm having all kinds of issues with it. Downloaded song missing 10 second chunks in the middle, connectivity issues, and now songs won't download, at all. Amazon won't recognize my SD Card. Spotify still does. So far, this experiment has not impressed me...
Have tou really the same Amazon as me? Because it s great.
Interesting. Honestly I’m not sure as I never tried downloading - I was always streaming directly from the app and service. I had no issues and think it’s well worth the money.
Amazon Music unlimited is absolute garbage! Constant crashing disconnecting from echo glitches won’t play a song from a playlist have to start from the beginning! I’ve been using it for 6 months and I just canceled for Spotify student. $5 a month after your first month and you get Hulu and showtime for free!
@@Milo_Molnar it’s been hell for me lol
@@shredhed7719 I like Amazon. Crushing, Absolutely not.
BTW amazon music also has a destpp app now
Spotify is actually free for PlayStation users with very limited ads. Only catch is that you have to use it on your console. Other than that I just use my 160gig iPod classic . Love your videos man. 👍🏻🙌🏻💪🏻
No way! I never knew that. But that’s a big catch as I frequently listen to music in my car. And thank you for watching!
can you actually download songs to your pc free from amazon music with monthly membership? asking because I just did actually and want to confirm -- but I don't see that option with spotify.
It's drm downloads you lose access to them when you stop paying, spotify does the same thing, it sets it downloaded in the app to be used offline its not like a normal download
2:57 we need Popularity Charts back
Amazon music has a desktop app I'm using it right now
Good to know! I couldn’t find it when I was making the video
Ive had You tube music for about 4 years now and I love it. It used to be Google play music but they merged and it's awesome. I used to love Google pay to. The awesome just maginified with the merge. I find everything, all da old school music 90s, 2000s and all albums that come out. It's like they're In my brain win the app just freestyle off of 1 song that I put in. It can play joints for hours and hours without me having to put in a new song. I dropped pandora for it . I tried Spotify and don't think it's as good either. I just got option for free trial to Amazon music unltd for 3 mths and if it's worth it I'll drop you tube music but it has to make me feel the vibe In my bones otherwise ima discontinue
That’s a really good point. Spotify does that for me, but I’m currently on Apple Music and need to figure it out. Still confused by how the playlists work
In Europe, they abolished Amazon Music HD because of too few users and nearly unnoticeable advantages in comparison to Unlimited. So, Unlimited is top notch again
is amazon music hd and amazon music unlimited same
@@chaskatv3496 no,. Unlimited is mp3. Quality HD is audiophile quality. ☕🎶👄
Who listens to the Deftones anymore? 😂
🙋
I have You Tube Music, it's okay but it won't play random music. If I tell my Google Home to play one particular song, it will, then stop. I used to ask for one song on the former music supplier and when the song was done it would automatically choose other random music which I liked, but not anymore with You Tube Music. I'll also choose a particular genre, say soft rock fir instance, it will choose the same songs every time I ask for it. I don't like that at all. But hey, I don't get ads anymore.
Yeah that doesn’t sound like a fun experience. Spotify and Apple Music do a good job of finding similar music after I’m done listening to a particular song
None of the services are a steal to me, you're not paying them for access to music, you're paying them to stop bombarding you with ads. It feels like extortion, lol.
You got that right
tbh amazon music has the best sound quality
I haven’t tried the HD version of it but I’ve heard nothing but good things
i use free deals and swap at moment using tidal mqa £2 three months but like you say amazon is cheap if your a prime user
We’re happy with Amazon music except it’s not properly shuffling our playlist- it shuffles a handful then repeats them…HELP
Interesting! I’m going to look into this for a future video
Also pls turn off normalisation, it kills quality
For 90 bucks a year it’s worth it. My average speakers sound pretty good.
I only use Amazon music
Did you come back now that Amazon Music is like Spotify? Gang of crooks, that's what VP Steve Boom and his accomplices are!
we both listen to Breaking Benjamin and Volbeat idk why but I just found that to be really cool :)
🤘🏼
We should give fare opportunity to spotify as well as youtube premium
don you think amazon music will have recommneded playlists spotify?
I'm wondering the same thing too
UA-cam music is actually great but I have prime membership and never tried it before I just use UA-cam music all the time
Give it a try! The UI is pretty easy to navigate.
I want to subscribe to amazon music but it’s not availabel yet in indonesia. maybe any one can help?
And now Amazon ruined Prime Music. Users are subjected to Amazon's shuffle and personal playlist, or single artist playback is now longer possible without additional purchases un top of the yearly prime subscription.
Removed functionality that I have paid for really makes me sick. I have reached out to Amazon multiple times with zero help.
Jeff Bezos - "If we start to focus on ourselves, instead of focusing on our customers, that will be the beginning of the end,"
I hope things go poorly with Prime membership numbers, and Steve Boom gets fired.
nice to see ajr on queue
They're a fun band!
Amazon Music has a desk top app now.
I’ve heard! I’ll check it out - thank you
Great job ! Barikallah Amir khan 👏🇮🇷
Why so many questions for us? Why should I answer them? Are you a cop? A Priest? Is there a minimum word-count? Is Napster still a thing? Is that gonna be on the test? Can we discuss your compulsive use of uptalk?
Don't know. Up to you. No. Nope. Perhaps? I think it is. Yes and it's 50% of your final grade. Absolutely not.
I got rid of the Wi-Fi in my car because I could download the music anyway. Saving 27 dollars a month.
Get Tidal. Absolutely love it.
I thought amazon music has a desktop app since 2018
I forgot to add that I was on macOS. I couldn’t find one at the I recorded this video
Umm they've had an desktop app I've been using it for years
Really? I couldn't find it for the life of me. Good to know
Amazon music has an app on pc now
UA-cam Music is the best imo
Interesting! What makes it good in your opinion?
@@arkoverload Mainly the algorithm and the sheer amount of stuff they got. UA-cam Music is really the only one where I can choose a song and then it’ll play similar music that I actually enjoy a lot, as it really gets the essence of the song right. Also, because it uses videos in general, not just verified ones, I can search up a super obscure or hard-to-find song and even if there are no official videos, I can just choose to play one uploaded by some random person. On top of that, most music videos and lyrics are on the service.
the app sucks you cant even search your in your downloaded music or search in playlists
Does Amazon music have a built in EQ?
Yes.
For the phone app yes
I haven't found the eq on desktop app
The information in this video is now super dated. Not a bad video; just not relevant anymore.
I have Amazon music
Let me test again in the labourtay instead testing in the market
Music Quality isn't a Issue. Amazon Music even has 360 Audio, so what exactly are you talking about?
I used youtube music love it
I use my phone 90% of the time anyway.
i had amazon music unlimited for awhile until it logged me out and forgot my password so i switched to spotify
Hey, whatever works! As long as you get access to your music, that's all that matters.
Srsly never had that log- out problem... And I'm using Amazon Music Unlimited for over 5 years now
im on amazon music cuz i have prime and have an echo device
It’s a great service!
Does Google Home support Amazon Music?
No, sorry. It only supports Echo Alexa Speakers.
@@RealJustinRoblox. Thank you
I Switched From Spotify to Amzone Music.
Amzone Music is Vetter for me.
Nice!
for me, i prefer spotify because i find the user-interface easier to use than most others, but otherwise i don’t think one is better than the other per se. however, i do not like jeff bezos so i personally don’t use any amazon products or services.
Agreed that the user interface is very easy to navigate. Amazon’s is pretty seamless as well 👍🏼
You don't use Amazon because you don't like the owner if that's the case you wouldn't be using anything because a lot of these companies are corrupt Walmart etc you just don't know about it them
@@pp3k3jamail you’re absolutely right. many owners of huge companies are corrupt or unpleasant in one way or another. im not trying to be holy in any way, but jeff bezos being as public as he is, it’s easier to navigate around his different business ventures.. if that makes sense haha
I will NEVER use spotify again because its shuffle system is rigged bullshit, Ignores the majority of songs.
Same😊
Wouldn’t recommend Amazon music it’s a scam!
Why do you say that?
Every time the membership runs out it locks all my songs and I have to re-download it. Another problem is every time I pay for my membership it doesn’t work and I would have to change my password.
I have Amazon prime but I’m not getting the $7.99 discount I’m paying full price
You should look into that. If you have prime it should be $7.99, unless I’m missing something
you still using amazon music?
I do not! I recently switched to Apple Music.
@@arkoverload looking forward to your video talking about apple music
Wait so I have to have prime to get Amazon unlimited? ☹️
no If you are a Prime customer. you don't have to pay a lot for Amazon unlimited
I wouldn’t recommend getting Amazon music it’s a scam.
@@MoneyBagD855 I do not find
Nah, Amazon music is the worst app and not user friendly as Spotify
I tried changing from Spotify to Amazon music unlimited and it was such a bad move! I ended up going with Tidal which is far superior to most music streaming services! Amazon music is TERRIBLE!!! Horrible interface, slow, glitchy, no curated playlists or daily mixes and albums greyed out one day then not the next!? There is also no option to organize your music the way you want to!
Tidal all the way!!!
I tried out Tidal (and made a video about it) and absolutely loved it. Amazing sound quality, super legit.
@@arkoverloadI'll check out your video if I can find it 🙂
What's tidal
now it sucks
😳
Time to go back to Spotify
Free Spotify
Am I missing something? Why don't you just buy cd's like a regular human being?
Serious question but I don’t know anyone who buys CDs anymore. I haven’t bought a CD for years with the exception of the new deftones album, just because I have all the other ones, and I’ve yet to play it because I have no way to play it lol. Not in my car or house.
@@arkoverload Everybody loves cd's.
I think serious xm is worth the price but I wouldn’t use it if I had Amazon unlimited.
💥💥 I was with Spotify from 2014-2017 and I liked it but I ditched Spotify for Amazon music unlimited during the summer of 2017. I signed up for prime membership and I already had Amazon prime video 2-day shipping Amazon photos plus I like Amazon's interface better than Spotify.
I'm all about dark backgrounds and Amazon prime unlimited music has dark black or dark blue backgrounds compared to the Spotify which the background changes with whatever music album cover you listening to.
And I currently have no plans on going back to Spotify. I still have my Spotify account I can download it log into my Spotify account if I want to, I still got all my playlists and stuff on Spotify.
Amazon music not good
