Great video demonstration. You connected the device red wire to the blue wire of the test cable and the black connector of the device to the yellow/green wire. I can't figure out which wire you're testing. The device with the probe you touch the blue wire then the brown and yellow/green. I can see it's not going to be the brown wire so I know it's either going to be the blue or the yellow/green - but which is the device testing? The blue or the yellow/green ... and what if all wires were the same color?
This isn’t a continuity test, you need two cables to create a radio frequency, pretty much and antena to then interact with the pencil, this is useful to find a breaker to certain outlet for example, if you want to know which cable is connected to which, just connect two, scan them, then connect one to the other one, and then you will figure it out by elimination as most homes have live, neutral and ground wires
