- Please tell me whats wrong with my 1998 toyota camry 2.2 everytime i give it alot of gas it hesitates for a moment before it smooths out also i just changed the spark plugs and checked the coil wires that seems fine my pcv valve is a little loose because i just changed my valve cover gasket so could that be the problem and my throttle body seems really dirty on the inside thank you for any information
I have this same car that is a daily diver, its got 446k miles on now, had this issue. Got Seafoam spray for the throttle body. Pulled intake hose to throttle body and sprayed the entire bottle through while I had a rock holding throttle at ~2500rpm. Took a fine wire brush and cleaned inside of throttle body where plates contact throttle body housing and that fixed the issue.
So you need to clean the throttle body
My 99 Toyota Camry has the same problem right now, did you find the problem because I need help.
Had a similar issue, turns out the vacuum line had wiggled its way off without a hose clamp so it was an easy fix.
which hose?
@@justainpatterson If you can find a parts diagram it's 17341-74260, dunno how youtube is for links but it's on this:

@@palad1um773thank you sooo much
Did you ever figure it out?
that sounds like cams, low oil, loosing compressions maybe even ring chatter. ran low on oil?
Maybe idle control valve or vacuum leak somewhere.
I had this same problem , cleaned throttle body , changed iac, unplugged the coolant temperature switch , it finally started running right by changing the spark plugs and wires
change your spark plugs and cables as well and clean all your vacuum lines as well including that throttle body and that should make it good i have a 98 camry that baby would hesitate where it would shut of also try cleaning your air sensor and change and air filter seems to much put its all cheap parts
I had the same problem. And literally just changing my plugs fixed the misfires. That sounds like a massive vacuum leak
Bad head gasket could be leaking oil on fuel injectors electrical connectors causing bad connection.
could very well be the air intake hose, that big hose behind engine or could be plugs and wires..
My 2000 Camry his 437 K miles on the odometer. My friends call me the "Camry whisper".🤣 Sometimes it's as simple as cleaning out your gas tank. A car that old has a lot of junk built up in the bottom of the tank and if you are accustomed to driving the car until your guess light comes on you could be sucking up all that crud into your fuel pump. Anyway it's most likely that car still has the original fuel filter which is outrageous. The 4th Gen. Camry was its own worst enemy. The problem is that the cars were so reliable that the owners tended to neglect them. This Camry has an unfair reputation for having an engine oil sludge buildup issue. This problem happen because owners were either skipping for dragging out there oil change intervals too far apart. Not a lot of 98 and 99 Chrysler Sebring owners complaining about their cars rough idles because most have been dead for 15 years or so. Another issue could be old spark plugs and wires. You domineer looks like it was pretty close To 200 K. When was the last time you changed your spark plugs and wires and if you had did you use the proper NGK For some cheap set you got from Walmart or o'reillys? How often do you change the air filter and do you change it with the cheapest one that will fit or do you buy a quality 1? After 23 years How much dust and debris do you think have gotten built up ?
I have a 1998 camry ce and I changed coils, wires, and spark plugs,I Evan ran a diagnostic and no misfire codes popping up but my car runs fine sometimes then starts missing real bad at any given time....can anyone help me please
Spark plugs, timing belt, gas filter, MAP sensor bad, throttle position sensor. Try those. My friend I had the same problem and it was spark plug wires needed changing. Could be the issue. That’s an easy fix.
Just had this problem with similar amount of mileage. Bad ignition coil.
how did you check your ignition coil?
It ended up not being the coil. I'm still not sure what it is. You can check it by swapping with the other coil. If the problem moves to the other cylinders, you know which one's bad.
knock sensor
bank one or bank two
Did you figure it out? My 98 Camry le does this for sometime now, sucks at getting up to speed too.
Unfortunately I ended up selling it because I couldn't figure it out

Hai frinds pleas help me. My car 99model camry same problem
hot climate too much problem (working AC)
@@brokenlife471 change spark plugs and spark plug wires. try using sea foam or anything that clean your fuel system. It could be a EGR issue as well.
Maybe the egr valve because on mine it was clogged up and it made my engine hesitate and die
Try replacement of MAF.sensor #1 vacuum Leak some where Bad O2 sensor clogged catalytic converter might even be a stuck PCV valve???✌️👍🇺🇸🍀🤔🙏🍻
I have a 2001 Camry that had same problem. Took me a while and a lot of trial and error but it was a dirty/bad fuel filter and bad injector and a vacuum leak.
mine drives fine tho and just does this at random no ecu/tcu codes at all shifts like a sports sedan
one probllem upstream 02 sensor get the oem part i just fixed mine
I have the same problem but mine do it while driving !! What cab be the problem
Mine wasa bad injector. Sometimes would run perfect and then it would hesitate and start missing bad.. Had a misfire on cylinder 4. Spark plugs and wires were good. So left me with fuel. Ohmed out the injector and it was bad.
Ignition coil
Check engine light is on
Mines dose to I’m tryana see what’s wrong wit it
Take off your air filter hose the big one look under the throttle body you will see a sensor little gray box has two screws take them 2screws off and grab the little pin is it a little stiff if so it's not rite take some carb cleaner and inside your throttle body looking inside of it right hand side is a little hole spray your carb cleaner down inside that hole you want to make sure you use quite a bit of it you'll see a bunch of black stuff coming out keep spraying once you've done that grab that now again and see if it's loose and wiggles around if so put your little gray box back on put your screws in there put it all back together and start it
@@graciebeck1178 ok
@@WhoCastro Did this fix the problem???
@@parisbrown4606 no I junked da car n got a bmw
Change the o2 sensor!
Did u ever find the fix
Unfortunately no, I ended up selling it
@@jmgaming9599 lol what was check engine code?
I think it's because of ur throttle body isn't clean . Or it's bad ig
U should check the computer test first. U will know everything.
Shit try some marvel mystery oil
Then try replacing air filter and perhaps clean mass air flow sensor. All this cost under $20 lol
If that doesn’t work and knock the codes off then that’s when it’s time to let big dogs take a look at it or junk it
Usually the spark plug wires: over time oil leaks into and damage the rubber insulation. see this video: ua-cam.com/video/9Ri-ngdYWMo/v-deo.html
Try Reddit bro. Really good place for information
