Recently purchased a 2014 Pathfinder as our family wagon (4WD SV version) and we love it. We tested most of the vehicles in this market, and the Pathfinder came out on top overall. I also have to take issue with the reviewers criticism about safety; it was a big deal for us, and the Pathfinder does brilliantly is crash tests. It's probably the best of the bunch. Also haven't experienced the twitchy steering he mentioned.
@@jayclutch6533 still going strong. Have had zero issues with it. Thought we would have replaced it by now, but it's been so reliable and so nice to drive that it'll probably stay until it dies now.
I really enjoy these reviews. They described every flaw with the vehicle that would influence my buying decision instead of just being about the good things about a car. The car websites tell me all the good things about a car I need to know. Tell me what would make me not wanna buy a certain car! Well done:)
I don't understand why people still say it's less rugged and the SUV is gone...really..please tell me when was the last time someone went really off road (overland) not too many! I had an old Pathfinder...good SUV but when did I go drive onto unpaved roads..not many at all. The old Path was boxy with very bad gas mileage, felt every bump when driving and with a tacky interior...but looked really rugged...please...grow up! Both the new Path and boy I didn't look back. Platinum with DVDs, plush interior, heated steering wheel with cold/hot seating fans, and on and on and on with luxury features that a DAD wants for his family. If people still want the rugged look and very bad gas mileage-be my guest. I'll just drive by your old clunker and just smile inside my new Path. Nissan didn't build the new Path for the single or married with no kids people..they made it for the DAD that cares for his family.
This dude always complains about how long it takes for the rear door to open. Just push the damn button before you get to the vehicle and it will be open by the time you get there. Are you not able to plan more than 1 second ahead?
Thanks for a very comprehensive, well done review. I think you are on target with most of your comments and it's the only CVT based vehicle that I would consider - my wife would love the acceleration, driver seat comfort and rear cargo room with 3rd row folded. Hope Nissan actually listens to you on tuning the steering better, but I'll pass on all the extra technology you recommend on adding - built-in blind spot mirrors (as Ford has on the Escapes+) work really well for me with out fear of future potential sensor and other electronic issues plus initial cost as an example.
It looks good but i've had a cvt in a murano before and it was a pice of crap. i actually sold it after one year because it was so erritating. i shouldn't even be looking into anoth piece of cap like this.I think i will just get a subaru.

GTRMclaren722 I couldn't agree more... I used to like the previous models because they stood out and look like Pathfinders now they just look like any other SUV.. with no off-road capability
naveenshanv I respect your comment, but that makes it even worse. They should include it in all higher models. For me, I would never spend 40k on a Nissan.

Lol
Excellent Review. Very complete and covers all the topics I am interested in when choosing an SUV.
It looks nice and better then the old pathfinders in my opinion
It looks ugly and not any better than the old pathfinders so hahaha

Hello. I was wondering if you still have it and how well it has been working
RIP pathfinder you were once a cool SUV
so true
Lol when? Not against a 4 runner or Land Cruiser
Hate that its a unibody with cvt now. But you CAN get those safety features on the platinum, or mix and match different packages
Great informative review. Thanks for sharing.
Chris, what refrigerator would you recommend for under $500.
juschill7 Anything imported from China
Thanks for the video
What were they thinking? No longer a Pathfinder for sure.
My pathfinder SV has a manual tailgate
How much it cost and the mileage on it
How much does it cost

Subarus use CVT as well.
They do, but they offer a manual option.
+Carlos Pereira Better get used to it. Honda has CVT too in some cars. Would help if you were more specific about your problem with it.
At least the 4Runner kept the formula.
nissan has the worst CVT among all CVT automobiles. And their CVT is made by Jatco, not NISSAN themselves.
to bad cvt gear box it broke about 3000 mile

two words for you Ford flex this thing is overpriced has very little standard options.
It looks very ugly. Its my opinion.
Hi, It's really attractive. gullible stormy What's happening.. 1!
for a 40k vehicle, there is no excuse not to have safety equipment--I would never buy this ugly overpriced minivan/SUV
Its starts for less then 30k...

Go say that to a GT-R, R34 or 370z LOL
Yes, but they are not family cars :>
