- 90% of the plot holes that I've seen people critique are usually the same things "Why Didnt Kakashi Go Blind"or "How Did Madara use Susano With No Eyes" I Had To reread all 700 chapters to find what I believe to be the most apparent plot holes in naruto. The first plot hole is with Naruto and the Academy. Are there multiple graduation tests each year? Unlikely as Sakura wouldn't fail the test multiple times and everyone takes the exam at the same time. We even see Iruka and Mizuki discuss how long Naruto has been in the Academy, implying that Naruto is older than the other students who continue to bypass him in skill. Think about the kids in his class: they're highly skilled and would easily pass the exam on the first try. This all makes sense and does seem to imply that Naruto has been in the Academy for several years. It's possible that he entered at a younger age but that wouldn't make sense due to the third plot hole (we’ll get to that in a second).
The second plot hole comes in the flashbacks where we learn everything about Minato and Kushina, Naruto and Sasuke’s births, Tobi, Kurama, etc. This whole arc is one giant retcon but the only one we care about is the fact that Naruto and Sasuke are the same age. At the same, we know Sasuke and Naruto graduated as part of the same class. This leaves only three possibilities:
Naruto entered the Academy at a younger age than Sasuke and Sakura [not possible]
The graduation exam is offered mulitiple times each year
Naruto failed the exam with his class but caught up to them before they were assigned to their three man cells, possibly with “summer school” or some equivalent
Either 2 or 3 could be correct but I'm leaning toward 2. Before we get to why though, I want to address why it can't be number 1.
The “Retcon Arc” happens in Shippuden, leaving plenty of time for Kishimoto to clarify any major issues but the one major problem with the 1st theory: Team Guy.
Team Guy is only one year ahead of Naruto’s class but they don't know Naruto outside of his village reputation. This means they weren't with him the previous year which would mean that he didn't attend class with him. However many times he failed the exam, it occurred in one year.
This leaves us with only the possibilities of theories 2 and 3, possibly even both. Participation in the graduation exam is completely voluntary and may be done at any time. We see this in Kakashi’s background arc. Kakashi takes the Genin exam and the Chunin exam at will and by himself. He doesn't have to take it at the designated time. This could mean that Naruto tried to take the exam many times on his own but kept failing. Then, at the final exam with his class, he failed again.
This seems like the most likely turn of events because:
We know Naruto is the same age as Sasuke and Sakura.
We know the Genin exam may be taken at will at any time.
We know that Naruto wasn't in the previous year’s class.
So there you have it. Naruto failed the exam multiple times in a single year, allowing him to be the same age as his class and maintain canon continuity.

4 - I imagine the reason beyond "Kishimoto forgor" was that drawing Obito's Mangekyou pattern would give his identity away to the audience because it would be the same as Kakashi's.

for example if the creator of superman shows clark kent getting shot with a bullet and then he reveals that kyrptonians are bullet proof we cant just say of well he didn't want us to know clark was an alien
i do agree he didn't wanna reveal it but considering how the panel i showed is the only example of obito using his ms ability with a 3 tomoe he should've avoided drawing a panel where obitos eyes were easily visible

I think a year in the academy is similar to a school year in japan. One school year equals 3 Trimesters in which they have exams each time. I think that‘s what they are referencing, when they say Naruto failed 3 times.
Honestly the obito kamui thing is just kishi not wanting to show us the design of his MS because that will basically ruin the mystery of who tobi is

In addition to plot hole number 8, it would make even less sense if you remember Kakashi stated that Itachi was made chief of Anbu at the age of 13. 21 being the age Itachi died at, 10 years since Orochimaru deserted from the Akatsuki, and 2 years before his promotion and the clan's massacre.

Honestly a loadnof characters ages don't seem to match up with flashback events. If their ages are ever even stated in the manga at all.

To add to this, some of the issues addressing Itachi's age are somewhat handled in the Midnight novel. Itachi was indeed 12 years old when when the Uchiha massacre occurred, but the Konoha officials bumped his age up by one year since someone must at least be 13 years old to qualify for a Anbu Squad Captain position. This helps to explain why Kakashi believed Itachi was 13 during the massacre. Altogether, in Part 1 Itachi was 17 years old, or maybe even just turned 18. Once Shippuden started, he was either 20 (possible real age) or 21 (documented age). That my two cents on the subject.
In all honesty, the timeline of Naruto is one of my most glaring issues with the series alongside worldbuilding. Series like Dragon Ball and Fairy Tail at least provides a world calendar year, but Naruto has never done so which leaves nerds like me scrambling to put the placement of events together. Add in nuances like Itachi's age and suddenly it becomes a battleground to connect all the dots.
Biggest plot hole for me is the fact that there's probably at most a few thousand ninjas per village (or less) yet for the 4th great ninja war, suddenly villages have around 10k ninjas each. When Naruto graduated, it was only a small amount of kids who became genin. How are there so many ninjas in the village if barely anyone becomes a ninja through the academy?
Good point. Tho maybe there were more npc genin who just didnt do the chuunin exams. I mean most ninja never become jonin and a lot wont even become chunin. So maybe thats why they didnt meet really. I mean there were a lot of other students in narutos class and arguably narutos class wasnt the only class of that school.
#10 - My explanation is that Naruto joined the academy earlier than his classmates. It has been shown to have multiple classes so that would explain why he didn’t know team Gai who were a year older. He was allowed to enter the academy early cause he was an orphan, thus didn’t have parents to dissuade him. Kakashi joined early and graduated early too (I think he was 5 when he graduated) so there is evidence of them taking very young children into the academy.
Yeah that is a good explanation that makes it better as a headcanon and i like it but i think it was just a mistake they made
So the problem with this is when naruto graduated narutos team asumas team and kurenais team are called the nine rookies meaning that naruto wasn't in the academy longer than everyone else
the next issue is that when kakashi graduated early that was because they need soldiers for the 3rd great ninja war for example itachi could've graduated the academy at 6 but the light novel book of day light confirms they held itachi back a year so that his mind could developed more and he could start thinking like a shinobi
also if we assume that naruto joined 3 years prior to sasuke that would mean that naruto joined the academy at 3 since the itachi light novels confirm that sasuke joined the academy at 6
lastly we have never seen a shinobi in history join the academy at an age below 5 and as we've seen in naruto hiruzen did the bare minimum for naruto so i don't see how he would make a special exception for naruto considering how he barley did anything else for him in his entire life

@@lyr1xyour logic makes perfect sense in why that theory might be invalid, but just for precision, from what I know, the academy has exams twice a year so if naruto failed his exams 3 times that would be in a span of 1.5 years

You missed the MOST PROMINENT PLOT HOLE IN NARUTO. when Jubidara stole kakashi sharingan and used it to go to the kamui dimension. When it clearly started obito's sharingan is for transporting himself and kakashi is for transporting things. Since each eye holds a specific power
Yeah you're right I never thought about that. There's also another plot hole regarding the same situation. Juubito wasn't able to use his Kamui on himself (for an unexplained reason), and he goes to describe it as a "weakness" to his new form. Yet we see Madara in the exact same form using it. Add that to what you said and we've just found 2 plot holes in 1

Short range kamui is the one that phases through objects while long range kamui is the one that sends objects away at a distance however the one that sends the user into kamui dimension is just a base ability so it exists in both eyes
10 - In Japan, there a year has multiple exams, including what amounts to mock exams before the finals.
Failing theses exams does not result into repeating a year, only the finals matter.
It is save to assume that Naruto failed the mock exams and succeeded in the final that actually mattered.
I plot hole I noticed in the last days really, , is that those revived with edo tensei seemed to be immune to genjutsu because the edo Hokages were not effected by the infinite Tsukuyomi. But this is directly contradicted when Kabuto used genjutsu on edo Itachi. He WAS affected. And it's not like Kabuto's genutsu is more potent than infinite tsukuyomi considering that Itachi and Sasuke managed to escape from it while nobody could escape from the infinite tsukuyomi.

i assume they cant bleed but yet we see edos preform summoning jutsus i assume that they have an endless supply of chakra and yet they run out of chakra
i assume that they are immune to genjutsu yet they get caught in it

@@lyr1x I think what it was supposed to be instead of infinite chakra is that it replenishes very fast. So for example, to do a shadow clone jutsu, it takes “50 chakra points”, so if a person has 250 chakra, then they can only do 5 clones, while if they were edo tensei, they could also only do those 5 clones, but if the clones get killed, the edo tensei can just instantly remake them, while the normal ninja would need to rest. That’s why Minato in the war arc doesnt just make a trillion clones or whatever
The only explanation I have to the immunity to Infinite Tsukuyomi is because Edo Tensei cannot sleep, so they are virtually inmune to sleeping genjutsu.
Kabuto did something similar in the classic Naruto, were he casted a genjutsu to make sleep multiple people.

It is not a plot hole. It is technically just wrong context.
1.) Kishimoto is probably using manipulation and illusion (genjutsu) interchangeably.
2.) No Edo Tensei were actually in a genjutsu. They are being manipulated but not in a genjutsu.
3.) Which mean itachi is not in a genjutsu. Until he got kotoamatsukami'd.
4.) Kotoamatsukami is not a normal genjutsu.
5.) Edo tensei people cannot be normally genjutsu. Because they are technically dead in the first place.
You can't really disturb their chakra flows.
6.) This is why Kotoamatsukami is unique among genjutsu.
@@kissena3830 Not really, Itachi was affected by Sasuke's Mangekyo Genjutsu too also Kabuto genjutsu, made by the copy of Tayuya, Edo Tensei can indeed be affected by genjutsu.
Genjutsu is used to manipulate the opponent's chakra, to make him/her feel something according to the ability of the genjutsu user.

Interestingly, Madara mentions that when he found Obito, it was almost as if he phased through the boulder on top of him (hinting at kamui), however this was before Obito would have awakened the mangekyo, so did his base sharingan allow him to use kamui? Idk
Orichimaru wanted Sasuke’s body because the sharingan takes up too much chakra is your not an uchiha, which is why kakashi keeps his sharingan covered
It seems like Naruto begins to fully grasp and understand the feeling of love after meeting his mother. That meeting took place after Hinata’s confession, and Naruto’s next interaction with Hinata was his shadow clone saving her during the war. Later that same night (fighting the ten-tails), he held Hinata’s hand after Neji’s sacrifice, and gave her Kurama’s chakra.
I'm here to play devil's advocate, and provide some plausible in-universe explanatioks for these incongruities. Not necessarily satisfying ones, just plausible ones.
1.a. Kakashi's reaction speed had not yet progressed to the point of matching his perception speed.
1.b. Kakashi was so stunned to see Rin jump in front of him that he stalled.
1.c. Rin legitimately is just that fast.
2.a. Konohamaru used his imagination to approximate what an aged-up Sasuke would look like.
2.b. Sasuke had been spotted at some later point since defecting, and the Bingo Book got updated.
3. Pre-TS Naruto taught the basic principles of the Rasengan to Konohamaru (which seems in-character; Naruto would be excited to show him), and Konohamaru trained without Naruto to master it.
4. Obito actually used intangibility before he awakened the MS, when he survived the boulder. This would suggest that intangibility is a lesser, precursor to kamui that is accessible with Obito's basic sharingan. As for why he doesn't do it again, his main fighting style includes teleporting his opponent into the kamui dimension. It doesn't make sense for him not to activate MS unless he has no intention whatsoever of fighting back.
5. You take the "learning by extension" premise for granted, but it was never actually confirmed. Naruto was already learning the basic principles of the clone jutsu in the academy; it is sensible that they would also at least touch on the more advanced shadow clone jutsu, even if it learning it wasn't a requisite of graduation. Kinda like when a professor goes into a tangent about advanced material, saying "but you don't need to worry about that until next year". The movie canonizes the fact that Naruto had heard about the shadow clone jutsu before his encounter with the scroll. The fact that he actually performs it is the weird part, but you could argue that he had a mental amp from wanting to rescue someone he considered innocent. I could believe that a mental amp would allow him to create one (very flawed) shadow clone. Just look at what mental amps are capable of in his fight against Haku.
6. Kishimoto's statements are not in-universe and therefore not canonical.
7. Orochimaru wants the best. The best eyes. The best body. He wanted to train Sasuke's eyes and body to as peak a state as possible before body-swapping. Just because the body is temporary doesnt change the fact that Orochimaru would be stronger with a better body. It is plausible that the stronger the body, the longer he can inhabit it as well, so training Sasuke could also extend the time he could spend in Sasuke's body. It could also be the case that he wanted Sasuke's eyes to evolve into MS before taking his body.
8. Databook isn't in-universe and therefore not canonical. Itachi's age is inaccurate.
9. Uhhh maybe Anbu reuse codenames sometimes? Could be that each member has a specific set of codenames assigned to them, and Hiruzen simply happened to recall him by that one.
10. Itachi and Kakashi both graduated much younger than Naruto's class, so it does seem like it's possible for students to graduate early. Naruto probably demanded chances to take the exam, and Sasuke chose not to do the same. As for why Sasuke wouldn't, could be several different things. Could be he wanted to learn and master everything in the academy before moving on. Could be he genuinely wasn't ready to pass. Could be he did choose to take it and did fail, because he wasn't ready. Could be that he was too depressed and withdrawn to care about accelerating the process, and simply opted to go with the standard path of advancement.
Again, not satisfying answers, but plausible enough that we can't say "these are plot holes and can't possibly be made internally consistent".

2b i know exactly what your talking about the sasuke being spotted shortly after he defected and the picture updating was when he joined the akatsuki after itachis death but unfortunately for you thats still 2 arcs after konohamaru transformed into him so that doesnt apply here

I don't think you actually listened to this one because you said that pre time skip naruto taught the basics to konohamaru which makes sense it doesn't the issue is that pre time skip taught konohamaru the rasengan but konohamaru was also a genin between the events of the Konoha crush and the sasuke recovery mission about 5 weeks have passed the recovery mission also took about a week now like i said unless you believe that konohamaru could have graduated the academy became a genin and grew from 4ft2 to 4ft7 in only 6 weeks than it wouldnt be possible for kid naruto to teach konohamaru the rasengan during pre time skip
4. this is just head canon i dont know what fan theory that youve been reading but madara specifically stated the only reason he survived was because he injected him with hashirama cells also you said that it doesn't make sense for him to do it again because his fighting style is teleporting others in the kami dimension ? what im asking is that when we see him phasing with his eyes why are they showing him using his ms but it doesn't with konan we seem his phase through attack with his ms multiple times but only see him do it with his 3 tomoe 1 time
5. just no naruto had not heard about the shadow clone jutsu because if you read the manga he thought it was the same thing as a clone jutsu also the academy wouldnt teach naruto or anyone in the academy this jutsus simply because its dangerous this jutsu requires a large amount of chakra to even produce 1 clone hell kiba during the war arc could only produce 1 this jutsu comes with significant risk which is why the academy only teaches e rank techniques moves that don't require alot of chakra but a decent amount of skill

Kishimotos statements are not in universe so their not canon Ok im humor you if you watched the movie naruto agreed with sakura that his relationship and "FAKE love" for sakura was an extension of his rivalry with sasuke which itself is a plot hole becuase why single out the girl who you know nothing about it would make sense if naruto was a laddies man but the all the girls in the academy liked sasuke except for hinata. also if you watched the movie sakura literally called naruto a foolfor thinking she choose toneri over him and claimed you don't understand a thing about love

my whole point is that orochimaru could have just stole sasukes eyes since those were the things he valued the most during part 1 he kept saying i want the sharingan but yet had a supply of them and refused to use it 3 years with sasukes body or maybe a little longer wouldnt have benefited him and goes against the flow of logic

10. what your saying is that maybe sasuke was depressed and not ready the narrative paints the image is that sasuke was a prodigy in the academy great at everything a natural born prodigy he was even able to produce fire ball jutsu prior to being a genin which to kakashi should be impossible for a genin due to the chakra requirement one of the main reasons for narutos insecurities early in the series is how good sasuke actually was also as for the depressed by the time the series starts its already been 5 years after the uchiha massacre so i doubt he was still depressed he was ready for action which is why he took his training and time seriously

My reasoning on some:
1. Maybe Kakashi wasn't at full strenght so he wasn't able to react to what just happened especially if he was using Sharingan in that mission for long period
4. Intangibility of kamui is passive ability so it might doesn't require MS same with Susanoo as Itachi was able to activate it even after getting somewhat blind and not having MS activated. And the othertime he was also using other kamui ability not just Intangibility aspect
5. When he read that the 1st jutsu in that was MSC/SC he was not supprised, you could say that it says clone that's why but we have seen Sasuke knowing about SC when Itachi used it when they were playing hide and seek. He might have show some other ninja do that jutsu so he tried it here
6. well it's not like ppl makes simple mistake, and at that point He was attracted to Sakura + being in tailed form Naruto forget's stuff
on topic of Sakura, We clearly see Naruto not responding when Sakura say why he "loved" her. It's was Sakura's prespective not Naruto's.
Naruto might just started from being attracted and it gradually became a "competition".
7. he just wanted to experience the TRUE UCHIHA POWER even if it was for a moment and the fact that Sharingan isn't byakugan, person can't on/off it like Ao. And he knows that from Danzo's experiement so.... Yeah it's would be curse to have 2S if you can't...
10. as Hiruzen can't give luxury to Naruto bc Danzo exists he might have made Naruto attend Academy early than most kids can so that he wouldn't live a life of solitude thus him getting failed 3 times

I'm sorry mate but explanation nr 4 is pure nonsense- intangibility is a mangekyou sharingan ability which awakened when Obito saw Rin die which was AFTER her survived being crushed by the boulder

1. Obito using Transformation jutsu on his Sharingan
2. Intangility is his passive ability, he didn't have to think and take a proper selective body part to teleport.... all of this happens sub-consciously so it would make sense that Intangility will work even if his MS is off. Like how Susanoo can be activated with having Eyes as both Itachi and Madara showed but it do requires unlocking MS
Orichumaru Said the body starts rejecting him because the soul of the other person starts rejecting him. The idea is that if he found someone who was willing to be a vessel, then their soul wouldn't reject Orochimaru and in comparison their body wouldn't reject him either. That's why Kimimaru and Sasuke were considered the perfect vessels until Kimimaru got the Chakra sickness.
what your saying doesnt make much sense considering that orochimaru had dozens of test subjects who were devoted to him and who became his vessle
also what your saying makes even less sense because from what your saying if the person agrees to become a vessel the soul will no longer reject the body because that means that they wanted the soul and the body to become one
if thats the case why did orochimaru say that itachi would have been a better vessel than sasuke despite itachi never wanted to merge with orochimaru
1 last thing when sasuke killed orochimaru he said he had no intention of handing over his body but what if orochimaru won that fight sasukes body would rejected him as well becuase he never wanted to become one with orochimaru

Izanami as a whole is a plot hole I’d say. You should only be able to use Izanagi if you have both the senju and uchiha powers. Konan even refers to it having the sage of six path powers if you have that. Now you’re telling me that the uchiha abused this power so much that they had to invent Izanami to prevent people from using it?
Also why wouldn't Madara have just used it during his fight with Hashirama when he was stabbed at the end. I find it hard to believe Madara would rather have been mortally wounded than losing the sight in one of his eyes. Also he somehow got hashirama cells in his body by biting him. . . .

for number six i don`t see it as a plot hole let me explain. yes naruto was in rivalry with sasuke to earn sakura impress, in the movie when hinata was kidnapped by tonri first time. naruto went fast to get hinata back, but tonri use a technique to use naruto chakar on him self and exploded naruto went out conscious due of lacking chakra but sakura healed him by giving her all her chakra just to make naruto sustain when naruto woke up shikimaro told him what happend and naruto run immedaitly to see sakura and to check on her. that exact moment when sakura realize that naruto was in rivalry with sasuke and he wasn`t trying to earn her heart and also she explain how love is important and how hinata is suffering from naruto ignore her all the time. i hope that explain and sorry if my english is bad.
On the MS topic/No. 4, it's just narratively implied that once you get MS abilities you can use them without actually having the MS activated in chapter 392-393 Itachi was using susano'o without his MS being activated and later in the war arc chapter 658 and 660, Madara uses his susano'o without having any eyes. This may be susano'o exclusive but another proof (weak yes) is chapter 142 Itachi uses Tsukuyomi without having the MS activated as well. And then there's the whole sasuke using MS ablities with a rinnegan but that's just narratively implied to be a fusion of EMS and Rinnegan with the tomoe and choku tomoe present in his rinnegan.
One piece is good with flashbacks and foreshadows but makes it does make lots and lots of plot holes 😪

Your #7 was explained by orochimaru to kakashi. That the sharingan is just borrowed and that since kakashi doesnt have uchiha blood, it doesnt work nearly as well as if he was uchiha. Even danzo is aware of this and needed hashirama cells to be able to just use the sharingan. Even then danzo's usage of sharingan was terrible as sasuke used his sharingan in a fight much better.
Now for the body needing to be replaced thing, it seems like orochimaru can continue to keep the benefits of the abilities of the ones he has asborbed even if he switches bodies. In orochimaru's dimension, we see all the bodies still there and he can access their forms at will. He did so against hiruzen. Not exaxtly proven but the abilities of the dna can be transfered to another to use with the body capable of using it(probably curse mark related). Hense kabuto having all the sound 4 abilities. Of course the arguement could be made that why didnt orchimaru make sasuke'a dna to use the sharingan. Idk but maybe it requires an uchiha body or it wont activate properly hense kaksshi always passing out after using sharingan.
Shoot, also by the time Orochi tried to gain access to a sharingan user the only two options were Itachi and Sasuke. We know how that went with Itachi.
And sharingan users can learn jutsu from others a lot easier by just watching someone perform their techniques. I suspect that's convenient for achieving Orochimaru's main goal, which was to learn all/every jutsu and secret technique. So Sasuke is the Uchiha that provides the least amount of resistance or difficulty out of the remaining two, that works to literally be the vehicle that allow Orochimaru to arrive his goals quicker

If my memory serves right, Orochimaru retains all bloodline abilities of his previous hosts. Meaning all future hosts will retain his visual abilities. No need to transfer the eyes.

For 7, there's definitely some holes that make things weird. I completely agree with the part about him taking some of the Sharingan for himself, since apparently he worked with Danzo to implant them? About taking Sasuke's body though, there is one thing I can think of that would make some sense.
When you consider what Orochimaru's actual plans were (through implication), I can see why he would want someone like Sasuke as a vessel. Orochimaru wasn't just looking for the Sharingan, but also the Rinnegan. But the problem is that Orochimaru had no way of reading the Uchiha tablet (hence why he should have taken some Sharingan for himself). How do we know he wanted the Rinnegan? Well, for one, he wants to master all Jutsu and the Rinnegan immediately offers access to all elemental releases (Stated by Jiraiya). Between having the Sharingan to copy and the Rinnegan to have access, he would be set. The second reason we know this is because of the conversation Kabuto has with Edo Madara, that Orochimaru was literally researching this very thing, and thus how they made this Edo Madara with Hashirama's cells implanted. Kabuto even thinks that they gave Edo Madara the Rinnegan and Madara corrects him (when he summons the meteor, chapter 560).
But back to why Sasuke. So, because Orochimaru couldn't read the tablet, he only had theories. And it stands to reason that he would believe that a non-Uchiha could not manifest a Rinnegan. At the very least, as a scientist, that would be the most effective way to test his theory of how to manifest a Rinnegan. With the purest specimen available to him. And then, it's possible that with Hashirama's cells, that could prolong the body transfer time (keep in mind he was also experimenting on what bodies could accept Hashi's cells). And even if not, it would give him time to cultivate Sasuke's cells along with Hashirama's to attach to the next body, where he'd also transplant his Rinnegan/Sharingan.
Only one I have to disagree with is the first one, I think people forget that Rin was a jinchūriki so the chakra level, power and speed will be different than a normal ninja their age. Also Kikashi,s chidori was in the beginning stages and he was still too young for his body to move that fast and control exactly where he’s going. As an adult with more experience yes the chidori can make your movements way faster and possibly have more awareness. Other than that great video 🤙🏻
if thats the case why when naruto was in the academy all of his skills like speed strength were so low in the academy compared to his peers since naruto is a jinchuriki his strength speed and other abilities should be above ordinary ninja
being a jinchuriki doesn't do anything for you unless your tapping into its power if that's the case naruto in base should've been the strongest and fastest in the academy but we know that he wasn't since he had no control over the beast and we have no reason to belive rin could tap into the beast power within hours of receiving it

Plus, Rin was a ninja before being a jinchūriki. Anyway, I do believe it can increase her speed slightly... 🤔 Perhaps her emotions might've also influenced it, like when Naruto gets angry. Don't understand the Itachi's age plot hole. Itachi was 21 when Sasuke "killed" orochimaru. 10 years prior is when OROCHIMARU joined the akatsuki. Not Itachi. It was also already made known that orochimaru joined before itachi. So that means Itachi wasn't in the akatsuki 10 years before Orochimaru's "death". He joined 8 years before that time.

Orochimaru seems to take on the abilities of whomever body he possesses. So in other words, to get the Sharingan at the level of a Uchiha, he needed to "cook" inside Sasuke to properly absorb that.
I think they might have just been rounding up with the ten-year thing, since in the Japanese the word they use refers to decade. It doesn't have to be exact but if it was eight years then it makes more sense.
Naruto failing the exams is kinda obvious; they let him because they wanted him out of the Academy. Additionally, it's likely Naruto went to Hiruzen himself about it, and Hiruzen, being the guilt ridden softly that he is, couldn't say no to the manifestation of his guilt.

I think Orochimaru ambition on Sasuke's body is not a plot hole but a poorly explained topic, Orochimaru talked to Kakashi about the Sharingan, but he wanted the Uchiha Blood, what I understand as the Kekei Genkak, the power to control the Sharingan, Kakashi has a Sharingan but doesn't have the Kekei Genkai, that's why for him is really hard to control that eye if we compare him whit Itachi or Sasuke.
So, why is reasonable for Orochimaru to take Sasuke's body? Because he was strong enough to resist the curse mark, 9 of 10 people who has it didn't survive that curse,(That's what Orochimaru told to Anko in the Chunin Exams) so Sasuke would be able to resist Orochimaru immortality Jutsu.
The body Orochimaru controled before Sasuke wasn't planned, unlike the Five Sound and Sasuke he didn't have a curse mark, that's why Orochimaru had to look for another body because in three years it was rejecting Orochimaru's soul.
While a body whit a controlled curse mark was a good place for Orochimaru, also all of them were really young, so Orochimaru had a lot of time to control a young and powerful body.
Only Sasuke and Kimmimaro had a Kekei Genkai, but Kimmimaro was sick, so Sasuke replaced him, but we all know Sasuke was late, then he got the body of a random Shinobi because he survived a Battle Royale, I think a weaker Shinobi would not resist 3 years.

For the Rin one, I'm only going to discuss the anime here, but it's clear in the scene as shown in the video that Rin was too close for Kakashi to do anything. Also in the anime the Sharingan isn't stated to be able to see above or to the sides, but increased visual prowess. Also due to Rin being in danger, Kakashi's emotions were through the roof. It's very easy for Kakashi to have stabbed Rin.
In the anime Naruto teaches the rasengan to Konohamaru after the timeskip.

Explaining Obito's Kamui without MS.
This is intentional. Kishimoto hadn't formalize the concept of Kamui that time and the concept of slipping past and sucking himself using Kamui was to be decided a separate jutsu. This is a common weakness writing in part of Kishimoto...in the writing priority, jutsu always comes last. Why is Naruto is just learning nature change in Part 2? yeah that's why....and Amenotejikara and Limbo had different effects until they were finalize.
Now back to MS.... This is why when Kakashi confronted Obito in the war, he concluded that his jutsu is just one. Now I'm gonna leave a leeway to Kishimoto that a Mangekyo ability when casted can still continue its effect until the cooldown even if it's turned off midway. But the most interesting part is when Obito is sucking himself using Kamui, he always covers his eyes or intentionally blacked out in the manga to hide his Mangekyo...this is very consistent. But overall, this is negligible plothole to be honest.
#7 - Didn't Orochimaru wait to take Sasukes eyes because he himself could not evolve them if he took them. So by waiting for Sasuke to evolve the sharingan he could snatch them there?
I believe that somewhere in the manga it is stated that stolen eyes can't be upgraded.
My theory on Obito’s kamui is that the activation of Kamui itself is done through the use of MS, but does not have to remain active for it to be in use. Upon the activation he has a 5 minute timer where he does not have to maintain the MS to use a Jutsu he already cast while MS was active. There is only one panel in the entire manga (the one in this video) where Kamui is clearly active while his MS is not. But that’s it. MS was probably activated off-panel. And for every other time he’s fighting and shown activating it, it’s shown for storytelling impact now that the jig is up (most of those times were the eye suction and not phasing anyways.)
My 2nd explanation and more likely is that it’s just a 1-panel mistake. A slip-up. But one that can be ignored and you can assume that should have shown his MS there. Whoops.
The anime has various mistakes in by studios under a lot of supervision which we accept as errors, but somehow Kishi and his much smaller team of writers are not allowed the same privilege.. that’s something that doesn’t sit well with me. I mean look at how we willingly accept Itachi’s anime Tsukuyomi activation as an oversight but not Obito’s?
My most remembered plot hole:
During the 4th ninja war, Edo Tensei Madara without eyes (he literally had no eyes in his sockets) used Susano to break out of Gaara's sealing jutsu.

I think the thing about Obito's Sharingan is that it would've revealed the connection between Kakashi and Obito. The Mangekyou Sharingan are unique in design, but Kakashi and Obito's share the same design, because they are the same set of eyes
I always assumed that orochimaru’s bodies didn’t last long because they were weak fighters. Kind of like how if you put the ten tails into a random shinobi they’d die pretty fast, if not immediately. If I’m not wrong they only said orochimaru can switch bodies every 3 years and that the bodies aren’t immortal. They didn’t say the bodies only last 3 years no matter what.
With that in mind we can assume orochimaru wanted Sasuke to keep his sharingan because then he’d be able to evolve it and make it stronger better than he could as he had a non-uchiha body. Honestly the plot hole makes sense if you consider orochimaru just wanting Sasukes body as strong as possible and his eyes as strong as possible when he took the body.
I believe the body would have lasted orochimaru much longer than 3 years. I might be wrong but in one of the scenes when orochimaru’s vessel was dying he even says something like “this vessel is too weak” implying if he had a stronger vessel it wouldn’t be like that. I might be completely misremembering on that though.
in the managa chapter your refering to its after orochimaru lost to 4 tails naruto (what orochimaru said wasnt that the vessle was to weak its that the body was rejecting him)

For the Orochimaru one I think he needed Sasuke’s body so that he had a chance to get Mangekyou Sharingan and evolve the Sharingan further. I remember something about the Uchihas’ brains responding to emotions and enhancing their visual prowess, so if he just stole the eyes it would’ve never become a Mangekyou
# 7 Orochimaru might of trained Sasuke to have a stronger body and so "when" Orochimaru transferred his soul to Sasuke's body it could have lasted longer than 3 years. For the obit/tobi vs Konan fight it could if been just an artistic mistake that was never caught. As in the anime it seemed he might of shifted to his MS but I can't be sure.
I felt let down by elden ring. Too easy as a final big send off from fromsoft. Never really had a tough time with it because like you mentioned, broken weapons and open world freedom. The biggest plot hole I've noticed in Naruto (and now this may be a bit of a retcon or what have you), is that, at the start of the series, Naruto is alive. Now, I've only seen the anime, so it might be different in the manga, but I've been given no evidence (and in fact evidence to the contrary) that anyone ever took care of naruto in the slightest. Now, I can believe a ten year old naruto or a thirteen year old naruto or what have you living on his own, but he was alone from literal day one (sure Hiruzen promised to look after Naruto, but we see no evidence of that happening at all) My point is, apparently, Naruto has been looking after himself since he was a day old. To a lesser extent (or just a different extent), Naruto's backstory makes no sense with the retcon of him being the son of the fourth Hokage. Kyubi or not, we are expected to believe that the son of the village leader and hero gets thrown to the wayside and abandoned?
It's not exactly an extra plot hole, but an extension of one. Just as it makes no sense for Kakashi to hit Rin, there also no sense in Sasuke clashing his chidori with the rasengan eveytime. His speed is on another level against base Naruto. The first time ok, since I guess there are signs or statements that Sasuke wanted to test his chidori against it. But not the other ones (except the one where Sasuke was half blinded after fighting Kakashi). He should just evade the rasengan and hit the chidori, kinda like Naruto did with the 3rd Raikage.
Chakra is mutagenic (proven by the gold and silver bros) so it could be that by taking over Sasuke's body the eyes will stay with him to some extent even after moving on.

And people can retake test, idk why this needs to be explained but even in real life people who fail important test can retake them within the same year, that doesn’t mean the whole class has to retake the test. So your point on #10 is wrong. Also I’m pretty sure those mini Naruto’s doesn’t count as full shadow clones, it’s more so a demonstration of him failing at the jutsu just like when he made clones that spawned on the ground immobile or did a bad transformation that didn’t look like the target etc. And Naruto didn’t say he doesn’t know what love is in the Last. You can take the graduation exam whenever you want hence why people like kakashi and itachi were able to become genin and chunin and than jonin so young. There was never an explicit age stated that everyone had to take the test
So if that’s the case how come shino Sakura and sasuke didn’t graduate early if they could’ve taken it whenever they wanted

I don’t think this is ever stated in the anime, but in itachi’s light novel it’s mentioned that kids in itachi and Kakashis generation were allowed to graduate early (because the village needed more ninja during/just after the war), but the rule was then changed so that kids had to be at least 12 to graduate
the only reason why i can think of foe orochimaru not takig sasuke eyes is that his body is naturally fit for sharingan (as for kakashi,it drains way mpre chakra if the body isnt an uchiha). This is the only explanation i can give at the moment before rereading the manga. This thou doesnt explain the 3 year body thing and his obsession for Sasuke. Maybe seeing how strong Itachis sharingan was he wanted to take that of his brother cuz he thinks its genetically more powerfull than other sharingans? I honestly not sure or know for sure
orochimaru wanted the sharingan in order to test his theory which kabuto later reveals in the shinobi war arc that orochimaru theorized that the uchiha and senju had closer ties to eachother than what was believed an upon further inspection into the father of ninshu the sage of the six paths orochimaru concluded that the uchiha and the senju were his descendants an that by combining their DNA he'd be able to unlock the fabled Rinnegan which would allow him to create anything just as it was told in legends about the Sage of the six paths.
and he didn't likely take sasuke's eyes because danzo who had wanted that same power reported his attempt was an utter failure and his arm had to binded and sealed to prevent it from consuming him whole as we had seen when sasuke fought Danzo and made him loose his control over hashirama's chakra/dna

an after the third war tsunade abandoned the village an took up gambling and alcoholism and jiraiya left again but this time to spy on orochimaru an eventually learn about the akatsuki an its believed that itachi was feeding him intel an is the sole reason as to how he found out that the akatsuki leader had taken over the hidden rain which he assumed was still controlled by hanzo an likely was itachi's last action against the akatsuki since we knew he was dying an wanted his last moments to be with sasuke etc.
Great video! When I saw the title, I assumed I'd hear the same plot holes as every other Naruto plothole video out there, but you surprised me. I agree with you on the whole, but I wanted to add my 2 cents to this list:
1. I always assumed Rin used the transformation jutsu to make Kakashi THINK he was attacking an opponent but it was actually Rin. Re-reading the panel you showed proves that was not the case, however.
2, 4, 6, 9: About half of the plotholes on your list are technically plotholes but have real-world explanations. You are not supposed to realize that Konhamaru shouldn't know what Sasuke looks like, because it would be weird AF if he used an image of young Sasuke in that instance. Kishimoto hid what Obito's MS looked like for obvious reasons. He was using his MS there, Kishi just couldn't show the design. Kishimoto has admitted he can't write love, so Naruto not acknowledging Hinata's love is because Kishi didn't know how to write it. Like Konahamaru not knowing what P2 Sasuke looks like, it would also be weird if Hiruzen didn't refer to Yamato by that name, but yes this is less forgivable than the Sasuke's appearance one.
7. Short answer... I think Orochimaru might have wanted to unlock the Rinnegan through Sasuke's body and perhaps achieve true immortality that way. You make good point here, however. I think I glossed over the fact Orochimaru gave Danzo Sharingans. I think in the long run I lumped Danzo's Sharingan in with the Uchiha Massacre sharingan, but this shows that to not be the case as Obito had control of those eyes, not Danzo or Orochimaru. That's a pretty big plothole, he could have just supplied himself the eyes over and over. I suppose he was hoping to get most of his lifelong work done in those 3 years after possessing Sasuke. Kabuto impled that perhaps he and Orochimaru summized that the Rinnegan evolves from the Sharingan and that would obviously assist Orochimaru greatly when it came to learning all the world's jutsu. If Orochimaru unlocked the Rinnegan while in Sasuke's body he could have potentially achieved an immortal body, too.
Yes, Kishimoto screwed up on a few of these like Naruto's age when teaching the Rasengan, Itachi's age, etc.
10. My head-cannon was that Naruto re-took the exam multiple times in a short timeframe; like he failed the exam and was able to secure a re-test, if you will, several days or a few weeks later. Like a make-up test or he did summer school or something. However based on the timing shown... yes its a plothole.

1. Not plot related but there are tons of explanations like Rin seeing which enemy kakashi is aiming at and jumping in front. Without actually knowing the circumstances they were in, it's hard to call it a plot hole due to nothing going against what actually happened.
2.That's more like Kishimoto drawing Sasuke for us to know that this was Sasuke than Konohamaru predicting how Sasuke looked. And it's not actually impossible for him to make someone like Sasuke. In the manga, we don’t have details to differentiate what Konohamaru made and how Sasuke actually looks like.
3. Easily explainable for Kishimoto but he didn’t think of it, so definitely a plot hole.
4. Visual liberty to not give up that Obito’s MS was the same as Kakashi’s. The moment we know Obito is Obito, he started to use MS, as Kishimoto didn’t have to hide it from us anymore.
5. I mean, not canon actually. It’s a romance story where Kishimoto didn’t care. But it can be called a plot hole.

Kakashi has the Sharingan, which means he doesn't see things the same way we do, but much better. The Sharingan allows him to see everything with higher resolution and predict movements, among other abilities. It's impossible that he didn't see Rin approaching and react in time. Of course, it's a plot hole.

1. the reason i claim that this is a plot hole is that the sharingan gives you increased visual acuity meaning kakashi depth perception is far greater than ours plus it allows him to predict and anticipate movements or events before they happened rin could have come from any side but kakashis sharingan would have allowed to to see rin due to the increased perception of a sharingan. And for a fact I'm sure most people dont assume rin is just faster than kakashi when its established than rin is primarily a medic and not really reliable in combat scenarios hell rin got captured while kakashi and ovbbito where fighting she could even defend herself
