    Thanks for this video - I just wanted to change the dipped beam like for like and I could NOT find another video on this model. You made it relatively easy 👍

    @4:04 , Is that cover in-front of the bulb supposed to be like that? I have the same thing and it seems to lessen the light projection

      @TononiaWorld 8 місяців тому +1

      yes, it protects the light cover from direct heat radiation coming from the bulb. most bulb have a metal paint covering the top for this purpose, but others don't and car manufacturers add this shield to prevent aging and discoloration on the light cover.

    Where do you get the retainer clip from? I bought this exact set of LED bulbs, but there is no way for me to get them to stay in.

      @@richardgrimsel1106any flickering or issues you faced, I’m trying to find leds but it seems so complicated with Mercedes, finding ones that won’t flicker or show an error

    I have a cl203 sport coupe.Inside of my headlight is not the same. I don't have that black ring. I have an iron wire which is a pain in the ass. I want to not use bixenon anymore is trash,drosers too expensive and they don't work properly

    I have the exact same car, only with xenon lights which come with a different power source. The xenons are a pain in the ass, and just never seem bright enough.

      I had same and just converted HID to LED. Works like a charm and did give a big difference. They are plug and play, no error and using xenon ballast.

      I just installed Philips Ultinon Pro3022 in my W203 and the user manual actually indicates that the back cover should be replaced after installation. I agree with your concern about the heat, but hopefully IF something happens it is limited to the bulb or sorted by the Philips CANbus unit installed with the bulbs.

    Aren't the voltage tolerances super tight in theses cars? I read that any changes like this will cause cascading electrical problems in the BUS/PCM etc.
    I have ancient looking orange old school headlights and would love to change them out but I'm unable to get the right info about modifying voltages that the new bulb type would demand/draw.

    • @hederickprinsloo4418
      @hederickprinsloo4418 9 місяців тому +2

      Hi there. I just installed Philips LED H7 in my W203 and yes the tolerances are tight but if you buy a pair with a CANbus adapter (between power source and light) then you should be fine. You'll see that the bulbs in the video also have a CANbus adapter if you look closely at 4:45. These adapters should sort out any electrical issues before they occur, but I haven't had them in long enough to tell you with certainty.
