- Let’s be honest here - the Super Mario franchise is weird. An italian plumber from Brooklyn, taking mushrooms, fighting turtle dragons, rescuing princesses… It’s all just pure surrealism, and we are here for it. With that said, some elements of the Mario games are undeniably weirder than others.

I remember when I was a kid and really disliked how it seemed there way no way to replay the castles or fortresses in Super Mario World. I still remember when I also discovered by chance that I was able to access them again by pressing the L and R buttons together, and I was delighted.

Regarding weird things..As a kid I remember in SMB 3 and SMW, by getting off screen and get back in or whatever, you can get behind background objects 🤔 Technically bypassing enemies and obstacles afaIk. Example is actually shown by characters on the Start screen of SMB3😶🌫️🐢
The reason Mario had a castle in Mario land two is because after super mario world he worked with yoshi on committing tax fraud which led to the events of Mario land two but in the end wario got the last laugh as he suspected Mario’s tax evasion so once he got his castle in wario land 1 he reported Mario and yoshi to the irs leading Mario to quickly abandon ship and get a shack in Mario rpg and yoshi to go into hiding on top of peaches castle in Mario 64
