I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW WELL BRENNAN SET UP THE BACKSTORY FOR LOU’S PINNOCHIO! Having all of the fathers in the village die a gruesome death once their name is spoken, so that Pinnochio has no other choice but to lie! Fucking brilliant!!!
the little red riding hood scene was definitely disturbing on the first watch, but her blowing away her family somehow undercut the horror of the scene for me because it wasn’t the method i was expecting. every rewatch since, though, it works better for me and doesn’t take me out of the scene anymore. especially when Red says “what did you do to me?” at the end
Also the moment emily when like "i guess i just kind of wanna... have they left the house yet" that was soooo disturbing and so good like god emily is so good at this
emily played a scared 12 year old so well, i genuinely get a bit emotional at the way red says "i can fix it something's wrong i can fix it" and then the way she gets so angry after entering the house is just jabdnansbajkdbs i love it
8:55 i was so surprised Brennan gave Siobhan the other option even after she rolled, given that it’s the horror season. i thought “huh, maybe the aesthetics are harsh but Brennan will not go super hard on them”. then episode three happened
as someone who’s very new to horror, the body horror stuff so far has been some of the scariest for me, and Siobhan really sold that scene with her acting
Brennan’s story for Siobhan is so incredible. The briars representing fear, her singing to soothe them so they let their guard down, the damage she endured while escaping. Knowing Brennan, I wouldn’t be surprised if Siobhan in real life was struggling with the comfortability of fear so he set up a way for her to work through it by proxy. Her body language suggests she was a little uncomfortable with the realization. Brennan is truly an intentional human being with great empathy and a master storyteller.
i really really reallly loooove the like the slow realization of the thing in the wood as red riding hood touches the book, it's very much like and it goes from "oh shit" to "OH SHIT" real fast and the like god that was so good
I related way too much to the opening with sleeping beauty, a few days after watching this i found out i have asthma and was developing COPD, suddenly made sense lol
I was telling my partner when watching that part that I understood bc it felt like when I had sinus surgery and then had to get the gauze out. It had been in my nose for like a week (so I couldn't breathe out my nose, which was the worst part tbh) while the blood formed around the gauze tubes and I swear when they ripped them out, my brain shut down and then rebooted in real time lol. I had been listening to this podcast called "Cabinet of Curiosities" and so the only thought my brain had during the gauze ripping out was "I'm...Aaron Mahnke. And this. Is Cabinet of Curiosities" as if it just went back to a save point lol. It was wild.
this season had so much potential !!! i literally forgot how actually horrific the start was until watching this. i love the goofs but i was really hoping for something scary the whole way through that only got scarier.
you are a SAINT ty -- i can't justify a dropout sub right now so a highlight compilation like this hits the spot. especially a highlight compilation of this beautiful beautiful horror. chef's kiss
This series inadvertently gave me a new phobia/gag trigger, having something growing out of your stomach and through your throat, and having to pull it out SLOWLY. 😨
iwatched this for the first time on a plane ride not knowing what i was getting into and let me tell you it was much more difficult to fall asleep than usual
So another thing tthat spikes a similar kindof interest as this is have you ever heard about the mechanics? it's a series of like narrative albums about stories and stuff and it's really really really good look for "once upon a time in space" and you'll see what i mean it's soo fucking good

siobhan acting out this terrible description added to the horror and I LOVE IT
oh my god, right?! specifically the way she pulled out the vines felt so accurate and visceral, I loved it

"I wouldn't be a good camp counselor if I didn't know how to tell a spooky story at a campfire"
14:51 hearing ylfa say “everything’s normal” and then the clack of dice is so ominous
The thorns really set the tone for the season, top tier body horror
I like this season a lot bc all of the PCs have secrets. Brennan always does so good when his players have secrets~

god that was so good
It blows my mind that people are actually COMPLAINING that this season is too cinematic
you are so brave and resilient for being able to still make this after the devastation of episode three
thank you
god i cant believe we got episode threed it was wow 😭
Spoil it.

the thorns was such good horror, I was getting anxiety shudders just listening to it
How did that even happen?
Where did the brambles come from?
Title of the video is very reminiscent of a Pinterest board I have that’s just named “spooky stuff that make me do funny dance”
hands down, the best Pinterest board name to ever exist

i don’t have COPD, but when i found out i have asthma it made so much of my life suddenly make sense. not being able to breathe is a bad time

You didn't say there were going to be thorns, dude!

Coulda been worse, there was no gnome trying to poop in my mouth

I'll be doing comedy & horror highlights for all of neverafter, so stay tuned! I'm glad I can help out
i thought they were kidding 🤣
This series inadvertently gave me a new phobia/gag trigger, having something growing out of your stomach and through your throat, and having to pull it out SLOWLY. 😨
That opening scene was what immediately sold me into d20 after buying dropout for game changer
emily is masterclass
iwatched this for the first time on a plane ride not knowing what i was getting into and let me tell you it was much more difficult to fall asleep than usual
oh no I hope your flight was okay regardless 😭

I’ve literally been listening to that album and Into The Woods on repeat for the past three weeks, I’m back in my theater kid era and I blame Brennan
@@JaraelMoonsilver You say "back in" as though we can ever leave (/jk)
The Mechanisms mine beloved
Is Brennan okay
I wonder how sleeping beauty woke up if no one kissed her
the briars were the prince and the cage
In some stories shes just put to sleep for 100 years instead of enternity! I think this story is based off that since shes 118 years old
more soon hopefully
It's good horror but like it's kinda weak just imagining it idk. I'm a visceral person, I love gore and horror. This just doesn't do it for me.
