Watching this video mow knowing that what happened to the old lady makes it worse. All the work you guys put into her and now... i dont know what will happen next but i will say ypu all did a incredible job
Hi guys I just want to thank you for people like you that will see you outside the square I’ll see past all the dramas and bad parts of the ship, and begin to restore this wonderful ship, That is part of history that just won’t go to the scrapyard
Hi guys I just want to thank you for all you are doing for this wonderful ship, and seeing past all the problems this ship has but you guys seen past all the rust and rubbish and now are restoring part of history may God bless you all that work on this beautiful and wonderful ship , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia
You bring her back to life and she will do her job in this. All you which are working on this will see an amazing end of all work. This will be a story for it selfs. Every single document will show the fight against swaet, material, time and rust. But you all will be the winner and she will say Thank You in in here own way and i 100% sure of it. Thank you again for sharing all this. God bless you all.
An excellent video, the one I've been waiting for for so long! This video makes me proud to follow this project, and happy with the hands it's in and the direction it's going.
Have you thought of asking curiositystream if they could do a documentary on both of the ships in your care? Because I think it would help bring a lot more attention to both. Also you might want to try and get in touch with the curator for Battleship New Jersey Ryan Szymanski because he has great knowledge on these ships and how to care for them in case you need some extra help or advice. Either way I wholeheartedly wish you good luck on the project because not many of these ocean liners are left but thanks to you one more can be added to the list of preserved vessels
Great job, I've been looking at the boat to restore and this is really inspiring! 8:08 What primer did you use, could you share with us please ? actually if you do a sponsored amazon link it would be a pleasure to buy it from your referral to help you with your restoration ... 8:35 and if it's not too much to ask, what white paint is that? :-)
This fascinating audacious project and your video made me watch From Russia With Love again. A disappointingly brief glimpse of the ship. Nice to see Robert Shaw as the blonde villain, who 13 years later as Quint in Jaws, was told he "was gonna need a bigger boat". Quite appropriate really :).
I hope you guys make this wonderful ship into a hotel like I just heard mentioned on the CBS Sunday morning show. I would love to be able to stay there sometime!!!!
I've not read the comments from end to end so maybe someones spotted this already but were you aware that your Aurora, in its "Faithful" guise and livery, made a couple of appearances in the JAG TV Programme, Series 3, Episode 10 "People v. Rabb" as a 'safe-house' for the then-fugitive Harmon Rabb. First aired in November 1997, at least from the outside, it didn't look too shabby. Guess 10 years on when you found it time had taken its toll! As Essential Craftsman says "Keep up the good work"; what a challenge!
June 8, 2022, Poland, Sloneczny Patrol alias Baywatch rerun s1 17, 1989. And there is Expex, illegal floating casino. Aurora stairways cameo including the rust😊🎆?
Love that boat, great story, great peoples, can you give us details about your background before/during the Aurora project? Would you be willing to disclose the price of the boat? You said you for her a home in 2008, how was she transported? One thing for sure, you got yourself an EXPENSIVE project, but it is just as much a beautiful project. Thank you for the video.
Need to get a fulltime videographer filming everything everyday all the time then edit on fridays post on saturdays. When you get a million subscribers, paying him will be pocket change and you can buy a lot of stuff too.
Why have you gone backwards Chris? I love your channel and follow you courtesy of @shiphappens. What's happening going forward like in the last couple of videos?
What do you find bad or different in the new videos from the first videos? I am definitely a rookie here on UA-cam as I can’t seem to figure out just what people want to see.
@@AuroraRestorationProject Chris, you are Gemma's friend, therefore even though I haven't met you, I assume you're a great guy. We want to see you getting down and dirty with the ship, tackling all the rust and mess there is, maybe do an engine start if it's possible.. just one maybe. Follow a pattern...... like the kitchen bit. You suggest so many things but then forget you've mentioned them and move onto something else. Pick a small area on the ship that you can fix in one episode.....nothing massive, show the disassembly and fix and then the end result. Little bites for UA-cam and all the big bites can carry on in the background? Keep it like you the boss only and not all the great guys that help you. YOU run it. Sorry Chris and really hope to meet you someday over on Ship Happens. She's one heck of a ship!!!
What I have learned is that UA-cam is difficult at best. I appreciate the advice and will certainly see if I can create more interesting content in the next videos.
@@AuroraRestorationProject This should have been part of the first video along with an explanation of where the project is going. What's the goal here? Also, I believe you need to keep your videos over ten minutes to keep your monetization up, unless UA-cam has changed that. UA-cam boat channels are like math homework, you've got to show your work or you don't get credit.
@243wayne1, well, at least garbage can be recycled and it can also serve multiple positive purposes in life, unlike your less than useless self and your commentary.

Fantastic video Chris, we are so happy to be part of the Aurora crew! Now get your butt over to the UK, we have bilges for you to inspect! X ❤️
Haha, that where a must from Ship Happens. That family is also a super star.
It was because of Ship Happens that I heard about this channel. I am now a subscriber here as well. Keep up the great work everyone!
Love the new paint job, but I'm worried about what's under water. Any plans for a dry dock to paint the bottom?
Your willingness to go all-in and risk it all is impressive Chris. Wish I had 1/10th of your gumption.

Just saw this on the news and had to subscribe. Greetings from Newark Nj.

She just keeps looking better and better!!
Brilliant!
Just heard about this on Access Hollywood Live. Can’t wait to watch all the past videos and all the new videos to come!
This is going to be one huge journey. You are very brave but as you said, you can't let her die..
Can't wait to see her restored. It will be Magnificent. 🌹
What a big difference you made in such a short time. I know it may seem like a short time.
I just saw the story segment of this on Sunday Morning Show! It is coming along!! Thank You for saving this ship.
I am so glad I have sub this channel, what a boat.

He has two ships? Wow 😳
Awesome job
Really enjoyed watching that buddy, shes a part of history, thank you for sharing 👍🏴
Keep at it !
Madman!
I hope he make it and that it's gonna make him happy.
Best video about the Aurora yet.
Great to see a new video…I love watching your progress even the small steps.
Excited to follow the project. Would love to see you do an episode about the work you have done below the waterline.
Love your heart and passion! God bless you and AURORA!
I'd love to see it working and moving again... It would be very nice to see a historic ship sailing again.
HOw uch does it costs to have the hull painted on a drydock? with these fancy paints.
Amazing!
So cool. Thanks for saving such a neat ship and letting us come along for your journey.

How does one volunteer to help with the restoration?
It’s definitely gonna need to go into dry dock eventually. That probably is gonna be a fortune.
@@lancehughes4132 I have no idea what it would cost. Do you ???
Have Doug, SV Seeker, give you a shout out, I’m sure he would....just about as awesome as you and your crew! Beautiful video, love it!
You sir are a legend for committing to that beautiful old boat 👍👍😍😍
Awesome👍👍👍👍
Great Project, you should name it back into ,,Wappen von Hamburg" It would be a great reminiscence to the history. ;-) i am from Hamburg!
I hope you guys make this wonderful ship into a hotel like I just heard mentioned on the CBS Sunday morning show. I would love to be able to stay there sometime!!!!
What is the latest on this project? Curious what happened?

I spot a wild @ship happens!
That Gemma gets everywhere 🤣🤣
Next time I drive through Stockton, I’d love to see your lovely Aurora. Do you take visitors to you and your boat?
8:55 please add link to the description :-)
We need an update

Lots of work done and much too follow. Sun, Rain and Saltwater are very unforgiving elements. Question: What is the Coast Guard ship docked ner you?
what year will it be when this ship is working and ready to be used again
u have pushed me over the edge i just made a offer of 150k cdn on a 300 ft ferry

Where have you gone?
We’re back …
It goes to show she couldn't have been in better hands. 😏
Dies The Aurora have any sisters?

This looks like a ship that sat in San Pedro when I lived there 95-01. Anyone?

IMHO….This ship should be in dry dock to access total shape of her hull…
If it can become a hotel, then the ship can be affordable housing for low-income workers.
That thing is pure metal, i wonder how much it weighs, that will cost you alot of fuel when it finally starts running
.
Next take on the SS United States?
This tub is complete GARBAGE.
