I am making this comment as a non-citizen, but OMG! How long does it take for the American government to get one thing done for its people? I have to compare, but as a Canadian, I get $900 every two weeks for the last six months. It seems ridiculous the amount of squabbling just to give people who are hurting $1400! Government closed my work....public schools...waiting for my stimulus and unemployment benefits extension. If they won't pay, they should open everything back up so we can go back to work. My work was supposed to be closed only for 2 weeks but here we are an entire year later.....kids are still at home and a lot of them are experiencing 😕 depression as young as 9 years old. This should not be the case.

(#3) Median electricity for us $115 a month x 12=1,380-18,700= 17,320. (#4) Median food for us $2,641-17,320=14,679. Yearly (#5) Median water for us $1,000-14,679=13,679. (#6) Now your left with 13,679. Let's not forget about the irs taxes on "30,000" which is $2,500-13,679= $11,179 all major bills out the way now your left with getting to work first (#8) insurance median a year is $3,414-$11,179= $7,765. (#9) Yearly Median on gas is $3,000-$7,765= $4,765. (#10) Yearly Median on car maintenance is $397- $4,765= $4,368. (#11) Yearly Median on cell phone is $840-$4,368= $3,528. (#12) So your left with 3,528 to spend on drinks, buying furniture, fast food, buying clothes and shoes for one single person. If someone has kids or smokes cigarettes $15 dollars an hour can only get a single person by who doesn't smoke or drink or is a drug addict. Can you imagine what there life is like on 7.25 an hour x40hrs a week= $290x52weeks in a year which is a measly $15,080 before taxes taken out this income stops at #4

Those of us with households making $75k or more shouldn't be phased out because we pay the taxes that fund the stimulus in the first place! We're the ones still paying our bills and not behind on rent and mortgages, we're the ones who can actually use the checks to stimulate the economy, invest it, make larger purchases, etc. $80k/year salary isn't wealthy. And some folks who USED to make that much have lost their jobs and now they make less, but won't get money they need due to what they reported on their tax returns in 2019 & 2020.
All that said, no, I personally don't "need" it so I don't care what happens. But it is true that we're the group most likely to wisely use a stimulus check. You can give many poor folks $15k, and mere months later they'd still be behind on bills with little or nothing to show for what was given to them. What have they been doing with all the stimulus, tax refunds and unemployment they've been given thus far?
Instead of relying on this wicked government to do right by me, I'd rather be in my current position: well stocked with what we need, children home educated years before this plandemic, bills paid, not strapped for money and able to bless others. I hope more people wake up and become self reliant, no matter how much they make.
That income is based on 2019 taxes. A lot of those people aren't making that money any longer. Also, in some places $80k is not that much money.

So this stimulus check needs to be passed through the senate and can’t get done with an executive order? If that’s the case then when do they vote?
In order to allocate new money the president needs congress as the president can only use executive order if the money had already been allocated such as Trump did with the LWA program for the extra 300 per week for Unemployment. That LWA money was money already being held by FEMA so he was able to do it. senate has stated they are looking to vote Friday or Saturday but as we all know it's congress they might wait till December of 2021 just like they did us last year 😉

I'm not ready to sit and hope on the government to dispatch the checks because I know it's never gonna come, the year just began and I think it's the best time to plan for a perfect year ahead. It's ridiculous that this is the PEOPLES' money and they continue to drag their feet about it. When the government wants money (via taxes) from the people; they demand it be paid immediately. Yet, when it comes time to distribute it back; they take months to vote on it. But when it's time to vote to give themselves raises, more healthcare for themselves, or to increase the funding of the war chest; they vote immediately.

I received a letter from the IRS today saying I get $600; in 2019 I made less than $30,000 for the total year.

the government doesn't do anything correctly. I've gone to check on payments and the page can't tell me anything, we pay lots of tax's and last year was one of the last ones to get a check. but all the poor people surely get theirs first.
