The Knicks were like 25-5 with OG as a starter. No way can you argue that’s an overpay.
How much is he ACTUALLY worth playing 50 games per season and half a playoff run? 15 mil? Because that would be the honest projection.
@@illDefine1 if he gives you 65 games a year which is the cutoff for most postseason awards then it’s worth it. $15m per season is laughable. He’s arguably the best wing defender in the league at worse 4-5. Besides with the addition of Bridges he can take probably 10 minutes a night off of OG’s plate.

They just traded for him, his former teammate Pascal Siakim just got a massive deal himself, his market value was sky high after this season, so they could either match his offers or lose him after just trading for him. And I sincerely doubt they could find another 3 and D player of his caliber to replace him without giving a lot in return as we saw with the Mikal Bridges trade.
I love OG but he is a worse player than Derrick White being paid nearly 100 million on his deal. A Derrick White level deal would have been more fair for OG. 5 years 150 million is his worth imo.

Yes OG is worth it... his impact on the court and plus minus and extreme... and I do mean extreme defensive capability it was worth it... the Knicks record with him on the court is exceptional... it's not an overpay...

OG is pretty much a lesser version of PG, but he is gonna be making the same amount of money. He will be making $56 million more than Brunson and $95.5 million more than Randle, and they're both the actual stars on the Knicks. Insane. 🤦🏾♂️

What you not taking in consideration is that Randle is up for an extension and Brunson will be up for another extension in 3 years where both will be making wayyy more money than OG because the new deals kick in. The fact of the matter is a lot of players that ya look at as not worthy of big bucks will be getting paid cause the NBA is getting paid more and more each year. You saying he’s a lesser version of PG but his Impact on the Knicks is wayyy greater than what PGs ever done on any team he’s been on. The proof is in the pudding and numbers don’t lie. So you might look at OG and think hmm this guy don’t deserve that money cause he’s not like super offensive but what he brings to the team as far as defense, championship experience, versatility is really priceless for the Knicks.

Og is better than Randle. Randle is not a winning play imo and his terrible in the playoffs. Knicks should trade him if they can.

I'm a raptors fan and I'm really happy with the OG trade. RJ and Quickley have been great for the raptors. I'm also happy that it wasn't the raptors who gave OG that contract

Totally with you, especially IQ and OG are masive overpays that seem not necessary to that extend, especially IQ blew me away as i do not rank him anywhere near that level. PG is a desperate move by the 76ers who have to somehow save their win-now window, even though they are still not a top 10 team in the NBA in my book after the trade.
The one that is really missing for me is Hartenstein for almost 30 mil a season, that was by far the craziest overpay this 0ff-season.

What’s your problem with going all in? You have pg and og on here because the knicks and sixers wanted to go all in on their cores and I don’t think either of them is wrong for it. You have to make these moves in order to put yourself in position to win the championship and both of them did that this off-season.
I just don’t get your logic in calling the pg signing a bad move if you think he makes them better rn. Signing pg was such a no brainer move imo. You need to get better now in order to keep embiid and the team competitive. This does exactly that while also not giving up any assets in order to get pg.
Everyone keeps talking about the 4 year deal and how he’s gonna be 38 when the contact ends, but that really doesn’t matter rn. The window for the sixers and embiid is closing and this was their best bet and the fit is literally perfect. If it doesn’t work out that fine lol but you put yourself in position to be one of the top contenders in the league and I don’t think any other scenario you could have done in free agency does that like this move.
And also I dont expect for Pg to be useless when he turns 37 and 38 because of his shooting and his size.

i think the 76ers should build their roster around Tyrese Maxey, their time line is over and this signing is not bad but it's not help them to get a ring, with the 2 aging star and both have long history of injury near the play-off or in the play-off, i don't see any good future for them

When it comes to miles bridges; small markets have to keep their valuable draft picks because they're less likely to attract free agents. We have to assume that was the best they could do considering his off court history. He was likely not worth the sign and trade in most situations.

The problem with the OG analysis is that Leon is paying off Impact on how the Knicks play basketball and not stats. Forget the record, New York is an ENTIRELY different team with Anunoby on the floor.
