I feel ya. I'm a guy and don't like people coming inside my camp if I'm not expecting them or know them. Last year at the LTVA I had some guy approach with a 10 foot staff like Gandolf asking me if I sold meth at 11:30 at night lol. I told him hell no and he seemed offended and kept approaching my van closer until he heard the click clak. I think he got the message and moved on. But ya you never know. This year was nice though.
My take may be a bit different. In current times, you have to expect, and be ready for anything. Some people aren't nice. Some people don't care about your 'space'. I camp alone. But, I use proximity alarms, and stay ready at all times. When you go out there into the world alone, it's on YOU to take care of YOU. 'Single woman' has no bearing on your safety. That's a sheepish and dangerous way to think. People who 'aren't with us anymore' had that mentality, before they became a statistic. Stay more aleert, consider the alarms, and NEVER let your guard down, or expect people to be 'nice'.

Anyone meaning harm to another will just bring that to the table rather quickly once they've summed up the environment. I agree with Alan Clarkson, post out perimeter alarms, or some other type of warning by noise, besides a dog because they'll bark at a squirrel, so that you have enough time to get any defense into place if needed.

Maybe get a big chain with a huge dog collar attatched that says Brutus or something scary. Lol Oh, and your howling at the end woke up my dog. He ran to the window and started barking. He almost got shot for his efforts. The next day I checked out and reported the incident to the rangers. They said he was a local fellow who had been doing that a lot lately. When I mentioned that I came close to shooting the guy they told me to not come back with any guns. Even though I have my permit to carry. It's a crazy world anymore. Be responsible for your own safety. Id rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.🙏👍🐕🦺🇺🇲

Proximity alarms and motion-detecting lights are a great idea. I camp solo, but I have a big dog with an impressive bark.

Don't walk through other people's camps. Just don't do it. It's rude and creepy. Having a loud dog (or dogs) really helps to deter people like this.
