I finally have another Art Showdown for you! For this Art Showdown I am comparing two student grade acrylic paints, Winsor & Newton Galeria Acrylics and Grumbacher Academy Acrylics.
Student paint is specifically designed as a low cost alternative for art students to learn with. They are meant to mimic the properties of artist or professional grade paints without the cost.

I've sold paintings professionally using the Windsor & Newton Galleria paints. I love them.
I dont think i've tried the W & N student grade but i've used the Grumbacher student grade several times.... i think they just sell their "old" paint as student grade because it's honestly some of the best acrylics i've used!
I am glad they worked out well for you! They definitely aren't bad paints, and the pigment load in them is comparable to a professional paint which is awesome. I looked at their website and it seems like they don't have a professional line of Acrylic, just the student grade. So it is possible that they use leftover pigment from their professional watercolor and oil paints, which would explain why the pigment is so nice!
I do love the winsor and newton galeria opera rose colour, as it is buttery and smooth, perfect for glazing. I personally love their professional acrylic, but I do get colours in the galeria that are not in the professional acrylic such as the opera rose. I think in student grade paints the cool red shades look like pinks, so thats why I do get the professional acrylic.
I have the Opera Rose in Winsor and Newton's watercolor paint, and it is one of my favorite colors!
I do wish grumbacher would make an artist version of acrylic paint, as they have with the watercolours and oils. Because for some reason they don't make the artist version and only the student grade one.

Yes unfortunately. My audio setup was not the best for this video. However all of my newer videos do not have this issue!

I actually use the Michael's app, and have an account but I had forgotten my phone that day lol. So I wasn't able to use a coupon. Lol.

oh god.... i hate when painting sets does not have a very strong and deep black, i mean, it is okey, not all artist do use that tube, but, for the price i expect to get the right tone i am expecting.

Which is part of the reason am also iffy about paint sets. Lol. I prefer to pick out my own paints when I can.
