It's good but no, it does not beat the original. I love John 5 playing in dlr, Manson, zombie but he is not a blues style guitar player like Mick Mars. Let's be real.
The only and biggest problem remains unsolved...Vince Neil. You can have the best musicians in the whole universe but with Vince on vocals it would sound bad anyway.

He changed the strum patter and it looses the feel...THe strum pattern he does is like a Eddie Vanhalen Un Chained mute in it and IT NOT THERE>>>WHY
John needs to bring that creative Drummer to the Crue also .. Tommy Lee has gotten very LAZY over the years

Mick Mars wore makeup too like John 5. Null and Void.
He was the guitarist for Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, you can't necessarily just be yourself playing in those bands. I mean, just think if he played for KISS and he was the only member on stage with no makeup. It would be very strange. When he plays with Motley Crue he most likely will dress to blend in with the rest of the band.
