It worked. Thanks so much. I have a 2021 BMW 740 ILIX with updated iDrive software. I was out of town on vacation and looked at the app and it said my trunk was open and the car was unlocked! I was out of my country, texted my neighbor who went and looked at the car and told me everything was OK. It also did not have the correct amount of fuel, etc. Even though the app said he just updated itself. Went through your procedure and it worked perfectly
Thanks for this! My car didn't have the option to update apps, but I managed to reset it with on/off radio dial and that seems to have fixed the problem in my G20. Thanks a million!
This is what I was looking for , my G20 hasn't the option to update apps either, hoping this will work for me too, off to the car I go 😊

Thanks, Jeff. Worked on my 2022 X5 45e too! I did have to try it twice. Also when I pressed the “Options” button the “Update apps and services” line was not there. Just held the power button down for 45 seconds and powered off and on my iphone 12.

Great video, solved my problem after a remote software update caused connectivity to the App. to be lost 👏
In addition, you can also go to connected drive services, installed services, and refresh those (with the option key as well). I also had a notification about the privacy options that were not all checked, I allowed the car to communicate anything. After all that and a quick drive, everything sync'd up.

Worked for my 2017 330e. Had to reset it twice.

I had to do this but with one additional step....unpair my phone on Bluetooth and WiFi then repair using the shown method.
I also stopped android from optimisation of battery use of the BMW app which made the transfer go quicker
For whatever reason, my car won’t update on the MyBMW app and I followed the instructions w the updating in the car and resetting it. Are there any other solutions possibly?
Unfortunately this hasn't worked for me . I'm in England, would it be a different method ?
I saw in your video that when you go to Apps you don't have BMW Store (I don't have it either). Is there a way to get it or it depends on the car options?
That might be a option depends on your region or connected drive subscription you have. I personally never heard about it, or used it. Sorry can’t help you with that.
@@jeffgao He told me the dealer told him he was lucky to have that and was probably because his bmw account is made on UK...Sadly might be a region dependent feature.

Hi Jeff, it didnt work for me.. I have a 630gt 2020 ... had the car for 6 days , havent updated in 5 days.. any suggestions?
Armin Bilalovic check with your dealer and make sure they set up everything... I just picked up my new 2020 X4 demo and it works from day 1. keep trying the same process I guess.
Jeff, I did everything like you suggested. Upon holding for 45 seconds and then the screen resetting twice, the audio volume didn’t work in the car. It kept saying “source not identified” for a little while, then the volume came back.
The connected app still doesn’t work though, even after logging off and signing back in. No gas levels, no car mileage, no remote 3D. Any fixes for this??? Thanks
Bryan Scott which car do you have? I recently fixed another car using the same way and connected app updated right away.
Jeff , I have a 2020 BMW X3 m-sport. I actually went into the app, deleted my vehicle so I could start over and “add a new vehicle,” of course being mine. Now I can see my gas, the miles, I can lock/unlock, set the air, get a gps location (though not perfect). But I still can not use Remote 3D view and the app tells me I need to enable it in my connected drive (or the car itself.). However, it is in fact enabled. So no remote 3D view as of now. I’ll be speaking to a Genius on the hotline tomorrow to see if he can remote view my car... from what I understand though, the Remote 3D view is the issue most folks have. But I’d love if mine worked
Bryan Scott when I first picked up my G05 X5, it was not working instantly. I can not even remember if I got it fixed. When I was driving my X6, I lost interest playing with the remote 3D view lol... hopefully you got your issue fixed.
Jeff hi! Shortly after posting that message, sure enough it did start working! Everything works now, including the remote 3D, but the key is to leave the mirrors Unfolded when the car is locked and left. The cameras won’t send any signals to the app if the mirrors are folded in.
Bryan Scott not correct, remote 3d will automatic unfold the mirrors
I have a 2020 m340 and I had the brake fluid change service done early, im now showing a message on the my bmw now that it’s due to perform this service. Will this process work to resolve the issue so the brake fluid is on a proper service interval?
No, your dealer forgot to reset it for you. There is a way to reset it, but it is not recommended for customers to do it directly. You should ask your dealer to do it so it is properly recorded to avoid any future conflicts.

Hi, your F generation 5 series is using iDrive6, which is completely different case. You might need to contact your local BMW dealer for better solution.
Can anyone confirm that when you reset the idrive 7 does it lose any consumption data or any other settings?
No, it is not a reset, it is more like a reboot.

Tried it on a G30, unfortunately it didn't work.
Based on the comments, it should work, at least for the most of time. Maybe you need to contact your BMW dealer for system trouble shooting.
