  • This is my review of the 2017 Infiniti QX80. There's more details below, but I just wanted to quickly say thank you for watching this video. Please comment below and share your thoughts on the QX80 or just take a second and say 'hey'. I'd love to hear from you. Cheers.

    ► Summary:
    Wow. The Infiniti QX80 is by far the biggest and nicest SUV I've ever driven. This vehicle is premium from end to end and has a ton of great features. But...it is a bit dated.
    Likes:
    (1) Feels like a 90,000$ car...which it is.
    (2) Electronic controls for the third row seats
    (3) Center console with cup holders, storage, and entertainment controls in middle row seats.
    Dislikes:
    (1) Dated touch screen.
    (2) No blind side detection.
    (3) The center console is poorly designed/organized.
    (4) Climate controls are difficult to use.
    ► Would I buy this car? No. It's very nice, but I don't think it's worth $90,000. I'd rather buy the Lincoln Navigator if I was in the market for a larger SUV and save $15 to $20,000.

    Good review. I'm thinking of buying a 2017 QX80 right now. The analog clock is a luxury symbol in cars. Luxury auto makers include an analog clock as a focal point in the dash. Luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Cadillac, Lexus, and Infiniti include analog clocks on the dashboard, not just because they are stylish, but also because they are functional. They often use high-end watch/clock brands, which also gives an added statement of luxury :-)

      Yes!! This comment. Spot on. We had a Lincoln town car, Cartier watch Special edition, in the early 90's. It featured a analog Cartier watch face in the dash!

    I bought one of these from Enterprise about a month ago.($20K less than brand new). It is the Base model but really a nice car. Real actual mileage with mostly suburban driving (average 25 mph) is mid 14 mpg range. I'm happy with that for the size of this car. Engine is plenty powerful. The exterior is a matter of opinion. I have always liked it. The interior of the Armada is very similar, but the quality of the interior is noticeably lower than the QX80. The exterior of the Armada looks like a pathfinder junior. I love the buttons, the clock and the controls. Very easy to use. Most of the criticisms in this review are minor. Certainly the nicest car I've owned. And finally, the third seat is fine for an average adult.

      +Itzilaandronesboys Yeah, I think you're right about this being the base model. Sorry about that. I did a carfax on this vehicle and it said it was the Limited. Not sure why it was wrong, but I appreciate you pointing out my mistake.

      +Itzilaandronesboys Sounds like you travel quite a bit. I wish I had gotten a model with blindside detection. I find it much more comfortable to drive these big suvs with it.

      100 Rental Cars also in the gas mileage you should talk about the metal infinity claims it is lighter and more dureable so if you wanted you could have talked about that in the mileage.

    You don't have the Limited. You have the base. It's about $65,000. It it was re limited you would have cooled seats and bigger rims.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 років тому +1

      Are you sure? I ran a carfax on this one and it came up as the Limited Edition. If that's wrong, then I'm not sure where else to turn to figure things out.

    • @disneyfan9099
      @disneyfan9099 7 років тому +6

      Yeah if you look at what the Limited has to what yours has. The Limited has Tvs in the front headrests and heated rear seats. Yours didn't have any of that. Tip: if there isn't a trim badge of the back then it usually means it's a base.

      A limited has smoked rims with smoked tail lights. The seats are designed with Infiniti logo on it. L do have theater package on mine with heated seats but no cool seats which is weird on a 2015 model.. l also don't like the lights on the visor.l think they should change the lights where they give you an option to deem the light or brighten lt manually

      +Vytenis Rupeika I don't know, I checked the VIN on carfax and it came up as the Limited. What's it missing, in your opinion? Is it the wheels? Heated seats?

    There sure are a lot of blank switch gear spaces above your left foot at the 04:04 videomark, for this to be a Limited trim model.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 років тому

      +J High Yeah, I think you're right. You are not the first person to point this out. I wasn't sure what model I had, so I ran a carfax to check. That obviously was a mistake. I don't use carfax anymore. Sorry for the error. And thanks for taking the time to point it out. It helps. Cheers.

    hey Mr. 100 rental cars! haha now you know why that QX80 has the nickname the Escalade of Japan. by the way did you know on Infiniti/Nissan remotes with 5 buttons on the for like yours, the top one is the remote engine start if you press and hold!

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 років тому

      +007texan The Escalade of Japan? Ha! That totally fits. And I did not know about the remote start! Thanks. I was pressing the button twice (not holding it down) like a dummy. I'll try it next time.

    • @007texan
      @007texan 7 років тому +1

      100 Rental Cars yeah, no problem! I'm actually on my trip now, I had booked a luxury category car but upon arrival they were sold out and upgraded me to an Infiniti Q50 that I've been driving for the past week! you would like this car, it's got a better infotainment system than the QX80 by incorporating 2 screens. Power is plentiful, handling and braking good. in cabin materials good all around. Only complaint is the overly light electric steering.

    • @007texan
      @007texan 7 років тому +1

      I also found out you don't need to push the button on the handle to open the door, you can just pull the handle if the remote is in your pocket. pull handle twice if alarm system is armed. that's what it was like with the Q50

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 років тому

      +007texan Oooh, sounds nice. The QX80 is the only Infiniti I've ever seen on Enterpises lot, but I'll try and request the Q50...you never know, maybe it'll happen. And enjoy your trip!

      +007texan No kidding? Hmm, guess I'll have to try that.

    Wow! That tops my most expensive rental car... last summer my family and I had a Chevy Suburban LT (not even the top trim which is the LTZ) that was fully loaded and cost a WHOPPING $65k as equipped... I liked driving it, but it was MASSIVE and again NOT worth $65k, just as you think this was worth $90k. Still, I'd like to drive one of these.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 років тому

      +Vincent D It was pretty nice. I think it's likely part of Enterprise's exotic collection. They also rent out Teslas, Ferrari, and Maseratis. All for way more than I can afford... And I still haven't driven the Suburban yet. Was it nice?

    • @jeepguy95
      @jeepguy95 7 років тому +1

      Yup, the QX80 is an Enterprise Exotic vehicle. The Suburban was nice, smooth riding for a truck-based SUV. My uncle had a 2014 Silverado 1500 (of which the 'Burb is based on) and his truck (even with the Z/71 Off-Road Suspension Pkg.) rode smoothly on the road, and the 5.3L V8 was quiet. We drove it 8hrs to our vacation destination, and 8hrs back, and none of us were fatigued when we got out after driving that long distance. Maybe this gives you some insight on possibly renting one in the future, we got ours from Avis as part of the Premium SUV class. :)

    This isn't the Limited, everything is wrong on this vehicle, no dark chrome anywhere, no 22" rims, no darken tail lamps, and no Limited Badge. I would be shocked that they would even consider letting a $90K car be a rental, the base at $65K is a little easier to swallow. To be fair, this isn't the complete BASE unit, it has the optional AWD.
