The Mickey Mouse isn’t an Alocasia, it’s a Xanthosoma but I know they get mislabelled as Alocasia all the time 🙈 when I had the shop I imported some as Alocasias and quickly realised they weren’t. Gorgeous plants though!
Loved this tour so much 💚 and I'm surprised you didn't get on the Philodendron Patriciae hype train till now ! I imported a medium one from Ecuagenera for 26$ and it arrived huge, acclimatized so fast and gave me a big leaf in no time. It's definitely one of the thirstiest plants I have and will need a pole.
Hi there, and glad you've finally reached 50k subscribers! I know it's a touchy subject-particularly in the anthurium community-but do you have any concerns purchasing plants from Ecuagenera considering the recent accusations of poaching?
The Mickey Mouse plants do grow that way (with the little stingray tail), and as someone else said, they are actually Xanthosoma, but everyone still calls them Alocasia :P
Cool tour. But all I could think of was: omg, so much spider mite damage on those anthuriums... I have A. villenaorum from them and it was infested with spidermites too. But for the low price, I guess I could deal with some spider mites again😀
Happy New Year 🥂🎉 It must have been brutal seeing all those amazing plants and not being able to buy any 🤦♀️ But, great you got to hang out with some planty friends 😀🇨🇦
If you're in the Uk, check out eastern tropicals - they always have amazing massive ones for great prices - fully acclimated too. I have 2 from Sarah - addicted 😆
That big one is a philodendron patriciae, not an anthurium. The leaves do look similar to an anthurium wendligeri, but they get so so long. P. Scherbergii are so easy to keep but rarely seen in the UK - GrowTropicals has them sometimes, but I imported mine from ecua last year and it's so hardy ans beautiful

Oh yeah I love eastern tropicals!
Hey Emma, just a quick question: Are you still using the predatary mites and are they still working for you?
I have paused them for the moment as I’ve been treating my entire collection for flat mites. But I’m hoping to resume again once that’s sorted

Ahh ofc whoops! I must have misread it when I was there but it’s GORG nonetheless!

Litraully
Is anthurium luxurian another name for anthurium sirih or do they just look alike?
I think maybe a sirih is a luxurians hybrid? Couldn’t find much on a quick google search
Just curious. Are you born in the UK or USA
Born in USA, live in UK now
I would easily buy that Burle Marx flame for 110!
I must be missing something. They do not look all that healthy. And there review are not great either..... customer service.
They are recently imported from Ecuador so they are acclimating them
Ok my god, doesn't it hurt deep inside not to take a bunch of them with you home?? 🫣🤩 I can't watch, cause I get so baby (plant) sick 😂😂🙈
