The Lakes are very special at the best of times but during autumn it’s the best place on earth. Lovely video and images Stu and congratulations on LPOTY. Very well deserved bud 👍
@@StuartMcGlennon I say it’s one of my fav places but like yourself the lakes anywhere lol. It’s the freedom to photograph I love and this video in particular did just that. 👍
Splendid video as always mate and we are never happy are we ! Right location / wrong conditions - Right conditions / wrong location !! Great images especially at 8.25 - congrats again on the LPOTY result too :)
Hi Stuart: This was an interesting location. I really liked the image of the small tree. Not quite the lone Wanaka Tree in New Zealand but very lovely just the same. Congratulations of your recognition. Cheers, Keith Pinn (Canada)
Nice video Stuart, like the images. The last one worked out well I think. Congratulations on your success in the competition. I don’t feel so bad now not getting past the shortlist stage after seeing the final images.
Cheers Alan, I’m fortunate having had success in it the last couple of years though on another day with different judges you could pick an entirely different set of images/winners each time
Some lovely Thirlmere mood captured there Stu. It’s certainly a location that deserves more time. Greg delivered his usual standard I see. He’s influenced your music choice as well. Very well deserved with the LPOTY. Yours stood out for me for sure. 👍👍
Lovely colours on brilliantly captured images. Thirlmere can offer some wonderful autumnal colour but I have found it hard at times to find a good composition (but that's probably just me!). I've often seen a good amount of mist there at times. The other advantage that I've found there is that it is often fairly quiet with most people stopping the other side on the A591.
Thanks mate yes I can see why it could be seen as a tricky place, the sort of bog standard wide angle compositions on the shoreline aren’t really there so you have to shoot a bit longer. I don’t mind this of course but it’s very different to shoot at say Buttermere or Derwentwater
Nice one Stuart. It really is a hidden gem Thirlmere. It’s my goto place in the Lakes and has been since 2014. Funny enough when you were making this vlog I was up on that crag you were filming. Small world hey. Well done on the competition and I feel the fear too mate. Maybe catch you out somewhere before it’s all over.
Thanks bud I was just joking with someone on Instagram I feel like us photographers in the lakes are just on a carousel taking turns in these places! 😂 definitely the fear especially when billy wind is planning on ruining autumn, you feel like it’s a race to cram it all in a bit
@@StuartMcGlennon Yes a bit of frost and a gust or two and it’ll be over. It’s been raining birch leaves here constantly all week. I’ve seen more photographers out and about this autumn than any other. There are wonderful scenes round every corner I’m finding. Spoilt for choice.
Lovely bits of colour and another enjoyable vid, liking the end result with the single tree. Congrats again on LPOTY and easy for you to say on comps :-) I'm accepting its confirmation I'm pish and if you want to retry Fuji I might have a gear sale coming up :-)
Lol yeah I can see that and I don’t wish to diminish people’s desire to be in the LPOTY book, but ultimately it shouldn’t have any bearing on your approach to photography or why you take pictures. I’ve never ever shot an image with a competition in mind - I just wang in the ones I like and if someone else does then great, beyond that I don’t give it a thought.
@@StuartMcGlennon Laughing my arse off just now having posted the Comp thing, I forgot I entered the Epsom International Pano Awards and just got the results Email. I know, what Micky Mouse comp is that I hear you say LOL I got into Pano's a year ago and was pushed to enter to no avail. Tried again this year and just found out one of my 4 got a bronze medal. Not as good as it sounds, top 30% but I'll take it :-) Wasn't even with the Fuji so it still might be for sale :-)
Some lovely images again Stuart. FOMO - fear of missing out is something that I think a lot of photographers go through :( It can spoil the day a bit when you are second guessing your decisions. We have just gone into Tier 3 lockdown just as the colour has exploded here. I had plans to be in Dorset and spend as much time in the Peak District which is reasonably local to me. I am now scouting locations close to home instead :)
Cheers Dave yeah it’s tricky not to second yourself too much when it’s like this - and also trying not to cram too much in. It’s going to be a tricky autumn with the inclement weather and the lockdowns I hope you’re able to get out with the camera
Lovely colours in those trees catching the light there Stu. Really liked the stand of silver birch too. Congrats on the LPOTY commendation. We talked through some of the images on the Pubcast last night, including yours I think. Some really lovely shots and deserved of the recognition. Oh and I'm liking the new 3LT ball head. Did they call it the Twiggy?! 😁
Great stuff, Stuart. Lovely balance left to right diagonally in that WA image, I prefer the landscape version as it seems to have more separation between the balanced elements ie, the fg tree and far lakeshore trees. Beautifully done. Oh, and congrats on the LPOTY success :0)
Well Stuart, at least it's now on your radar and you'll be able to visit it throughout the year to get a better idea of when it will look it's best. Just seen on my timeline, that I'd just arrived in the Lakes this time last year in readiness for those two days with you exploring the area in Autumn. We'll have to do it again, though probably choose a few different locations next time.
Cheers Ian if I get a better day before autumns over I’ll be down again, it’s just so rough at the moment which is shame. A bit of mist and light and there’s so many shots with the long lens down there. Yep if you fancy coming up again just shout
Nice vlog , I love the landscape format tree shot. And well done on LPOTY ,fab shot
Cheers Howard sorry I missed this, thanks for watching :-)
Beautiful autumnal colour images and congratulations on your winning LPOTY image 🌿🌳✨
Thanks Diane much appreciated
Nice work Stu, love the low cloud hanging over that Autumn colour 👍👍
Cheers mate much appreciated going to catch up on yours and others vids today I’ve barely watched anything too busy out shooting

Cheers Darren yeah it’s tough to beat this time of year, I’m extremely fortunate to live here especially in the current shitshow that is covid
Top Notch again Stuart
Cheers pal
Great work! Nice to see somewhere that's maybe a bit overlooked/driven by. Congratulations on LPOTY too 👍🏻
Cheers bud
Congrats on LPOTY, such beautiful autumn colours here, great images of “the tree”, always a joy to see different landscapes, thank you, stay safe
Cheers Malcolm much appreciated
My favourite place and my favourite video of yours. Superb shots, great editing. 👍 huge congratulations on your Kelly hall shot.
Cheers Mali appreciate that, it’s a bit out of the way for me Thirlmere though I’ll have to have a look at it more in future

Cheers James yeah it’s a smashing spot, I’m gonna try and get back again before autumns finished if it ever stops pissing down! 😂
Love the shots in this video. Can't beat the Lakes in autumn. I was there last week and absolutely get what you mean about The Fear!
Thanks Rob yep I definitely have the fear at all times when the colours are like this!
Great video, 🙏🍻

Love the lone tree shots .congrats on getting in the lpoy book again.would you say the colour in the lakes is at its peak yet?
Cheers Gary I’d say it’s not far off though the rough weather might cut it all short a bit, hopefully the windy weather stays away
I always skip over b roll from all vids I watch.
Yep I tend to as well
