This expert makes it look easy - it is not when kneeling in cramped quarters. I found the best way was to put the belt on the lower pulley, turn the belt and top pulley counter clockwise as shown, and attach two tie wraps to hold the belt onto the large pulley while turning. It popped right on as shown. Good video, many thanks to Appl;iance Pros. Don't forget to wear gloves! And REMOVE THE TIE WRAPS.
The new belt is the right size but considerably tighter than the old one . It’s not as easy as pictured !!
wasn't sure how tight the belt should be, I got it on. Thank you
Great video... exactly what I needed to see.
The new belt is WAY TIGHTER than the old belt and does NOT easily slip on, it takes some muscle effort.
The belt on mine broke. I noticed that the steel drum is resting in front in the outer plastic casing and doesnt turn freely. I can lift the drum and turn. Is this normal and would align once the new pulley is on?
Good video, will use it to put belt on thank you!
Thanks. Glad we could help!
I have a new belt and new isolators on the motor but it seems my belt is pulling to the back and popping off any ideas?
The description on the replacement belt I bought (from another place) says this:
_This part measures 48.22 inch long when uninstalled and will stretch to 51.53 inches when installed._
I am having a hard time getting the belt to stretch 3 inches over the pulley. That seems a bit much.
Ok I got the belt on but it keeps getting unseated. There is way too much play in the drive pulley. I can see where the belt slipped off and melted a groove in the plastic backing of the tumble drum.
OK fixed! Your drive pulley video let me know that the bolt holding it on was not tight enough and was causing the wobble.

You Make My Day !..!
What does code 5 06 mean. Seems to shut off and be out of balance, but would appreciate knowing where to look up or what that code means.
Pam Adams Not sure if that code is correct. You can post the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem.
How did you put it on so easily I am trying to do what you are doing but it is not working
What I mean is when I put the belt on and spin it, it needs up coming off track and popping off
Thanks for the video
You're welcome!
What if the drive pulley won’t spin?
What is your model number?
Mine is the same way big pulley won’t spin my mod # is WFW9050XW00
What are the primary symptoms as the belt fails? Aside from simply not spinning at all...
Royce Groff If the belt is worn but not totally gone you might get some slipping at start up, maybe a little burnt rubber smell. It could also throw a code like a f10, f11 or f15.
Thank you. Not exactly my symptoms...
Royce Groff You can also post the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem.
